Very concerning that: 1) We're still losing games with more inside 50's but getting spanked in inside 50's efficiency, which speaks to a dysfunctional forward line on the one hand, and a loose defensive unit on the other -admittedly we're missing our best defender. 2) As per last year, the effort, pressure and determination already appears to be conditional based off 2 games. The effort was chalk and cheese between round 1 and 2. I'm not as bullish as others that the returns of May, Windsor, Kozzie and McVee are going to be like waving the magic wand and all will be sunshine and lollypops. The return of a fully fit Oliver and Trac hasn't appeared to be that magic bullet we'd hoped for.

In last week’s injury report Selwyn hinted that Melksham will be available for selection this week. So there’s a chance he returns. We diabolically need to inject someone of his class into our forward like, albeit he alone isn’t going to change our fortunes.

The North and Geelong games are irrelevant to the discussion as they’re not our home game. And anyway I’m not sure what’s stopping a Melbourne supporting family going to a 3:20pm game on a Sunday afternoon game in the city, unless they live in the bush. And I’m not sure about others but I was stoked to get three Saturday afternoon games in the first 15 rounds which is 3 more than what we got last year.

Clearly the roof is closed for every game at Marvel. If they closed it on a 30 degree night last week, creating a sauna for everyone involved, they’ll be closing it tomorrow. I agree that they should show a bit of discretion in regards to opening it every now and then.

I would be absolutely flabbergasted if St Kilda lose to Richmond next week on their turf. St Kilda are a different team at Marvel.

If the club is persisting with this nonsense high half forward role for Fritta, then he should take a look at the way Ben Keays plays that role. Becoming borderline elite.

It will be one of Sharp or Langford that gets dropped. Sharp was one of our worst players last week from a statistical perspective while Langford looked off the pace. Leaning towards Sharp starting as sub, being injected after 3 qtr time and kicking a sneaky couple while Langford plays a full game in Casey's season opener.

Happy with this. We need a bit of experience in our forward line.

Agreed. He started his run and carry on the defensive side of the centre square. The 3 contenders must have bene pretty amazing if Caleb didn't get nominated. Guessing everyone's love child Wizard Watson was one of the nominated.

They're so costly GW given we play a brand of footy that doesn't allow us to win too many blow outs, but conversely not allow too many blow outs the other way. A little more composure in the dying minutes and we're 13-10 last year and 1-0 to start this season.

If you think the crowd was bad on Sunday, imagine what the crowd (or lack thereof) V West Coat at Marvel in early August is going to be. Particularly if it’s a Sunday 4:40 and/or we’re out of business due to continually losing close games.
