Agreed. He’s had some terrible grand finals but it’s one of footy’s greatest myths to suggest that Gary Rohan is a poor footballer. He’s often kicked multiple goals against us.
-
That was such a Melbourne like circa 2023 loss by Port.
-
BT had another fantastic night in the booth. Started his night by mixing up Butters and Rozee, you know only 2 of Port’s highest profile players. Then ended the night by informing the viewers that Adelaide are off to Darwin to host Brisbane, despite Adelaide never playing a home game in Darwin and probably never will. Port are falling apart with injuries.

He absolutely owns us. We never have a decent match up for him. There’s speculation he’ll be starting as sub so we might be lucky and only cop 30 minutes of him
-
In - Hunter, Hore Out - Woewodin , Laurie Sub - Windsor I want experience this week, and I thought Woewodin and Windsor were liabilities at times for the Brisbane and Richmond games. Geelong will punish turnovers like no other. Hunter or Billings to be subbed out for Windsor. Would like to give Laurie another go as sub, but it would be harsh to drop Windsor at this point and I can't see them resting him so soon after our bye. Perhaps he gets rested next Thursday night.

How much can I get for Gary Rohan starting as sub, coming on in the second quarter and kicking 3 or 4 snags?

With respect to MFC Saturday night crowds, our benchmark is 55,000 V Carlton which occurred on round 22 2022, when Kozzie kicked the winner with seconds left. In that game, Carlton were eyeing their first final in 9 year while we had top 4 on the line. The weather was a regulation August night with no rain. With so much at stake in that game, it would be hard so see us getting into the 50's this weekend.

Thanks Andy for the interview. Very well spoken is Kade and represents the club well. Hopefully his knee concern doesn't hinder him too much going forward, but at least he can get on the park.

Agree with the second comment. That part of the thread has been a good discussion point. It's the "oh their 7-0 but they're not playing well and haven't beaten anyone" narrative that's crept into the discussion. Geelong have been the best performed team so far this year. I don't know how one can argue otherwise. Sydney put in an immature performance against Richmond, GWS went to sleep 2 weeks in a row and it almost cost them the full 8 points, while Carlton have lost just as many quarters as they've won.
-
He played his first game in the VFL last week coming back from injury rather being out of favour. So I'd imagine he'll be in the team in the coming weeks and will clearly be a required played going forward for GWS.
-
I’d like to know Adrian Anderson’s success rate at the tribunal.

There's some extraordinary disrespect and under estimation of Geelong in this thread. They've clearly been the most consistent team all year so far and been on their game mentally every week, as opposed to us when we've had 2 games when we were clearly "off" for one reason or another. I also can't buy into the "they haven't beaten anyone" notion. Sure they've had some easy games against North and Hawthorn, but they've just beaten Brisbane at home (who had just given us a bath) and then put 120 points on a genuine premiership contender in Carlton. They've also won 2 games in Adelaide which seems to have been lost on some. Geelong are top of the ladder for a good reason, and Saturday night is a massive audit for us.

The Drums are starting to beat for North
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Sir Why You Little's topic in Melbourne Demons
"I think the AFL should move North out of there, pay them the money and start bulking up those games in Tasmania and send some of the big clubs down once a year to get the Tasmania people lined up and excited (for their team in 2028) When McGuire was probed further on this comment and was asked if Collingwood should be one of those teams to play in Tasmania, McGuire answered: "I wouldn't have thought so"- 205 replies

Was that the game Tomlinson was dropped after his 10 mark effort on Kings Birthday? Rohan killed us in that game and he’s in the mix to return this week.
-
He had a down game last week so the ongoing knee issue might now be getting the better of him.
-
Ok. Thanks for the inside word. There’s been no speculation of him missing, but at the same time Geelong do rest senior players throughout the season.
-
Unless Stewart had a particularly bad concussion, or hasn’t recovered well, he’ll certainly be playing, and we should assume he’s playing. One comment that raised by eyebrow on the Geelong Bigfooty was this: “Stanley plays better with at least a little continuity so I'd back him in against Gawn”
-
That’s great news WCW. Is he wearing a cap or jumper to indicate “no contact” or is he good to go?
-
Agree. They beat the Dogs in round 23 when they were $16-1 to win the game, after seemingly having the spoon in the bag. It’s the polar opposite to tanking.
-
I honestly don’t believe it’s happened since 1980. Maybe in the 70’s? Pies will play finals this year.
-
Does James Jordon ever make a mistake? I get that he had a poor semi final as Brayshaw’s replacement, but he always seems to make the right decision and reliably hits targets. The epitome of a good ordinary player, with the “good” being the operative word. A smart and cheap pick up by Sydney.
-
Really hope we don’t go down the fatigue excuse if we get done x2. We’ve played just 3 games in the month of April and should be cherry ripe to attack Geelong and Carlton (and then a 10 day break into West Coast)
-
We’re going to have to play about 300% better than what we’ve dished up the last fortnight if we’re a chance to beat Geelong - who just beat my expected premiers for 2024. Yeah Geelong are due for a loss, but so were we in rounds 8 and 9 2021 and we kept saluting. I don’t like them, but full credit to Geelong for their impressive rebound. They have a phenomenal coach IMO.

Sorry mate, what are you going on about?
