POSTGAME: Rd 05 vs Essendon
And rightly so.

Time to go Goody?
I raised this last week but hopefully tonight, the press ask him why our last quarters are so uncompetitive.

POSTGAME: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Do yourself a favour and get to our home game aganst West Coast at Marvel in round 21. Will likely be our only win for the year.

Time to go Goody?
Now that Voss has finally won a game, the media are going straight for Goodwin this week. And he’s got Fremantle next week, who along with Collingwood, is the team that troubles him the most.

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Watching from the top deck at the ground, I haven’t Simon that animated at the end of the quarter time huddle.

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
100% spot on.

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
A lot of that is correct aside from hoping to lose and cheering on the Pies.

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
I assume that’s a joke. What a false dawn that win was against us in round 2.

NON-MFC: Round 05
I get the impression people don’t rate Collingwood because they hate them more so than actually analysing their list and the way they play, which is strongly suited to the modern game. I firmly believe Collingwood will be there on prelim final weekend, at the minimum.

If we lose this week I will?
CELEBRATE is too strong a word but it might be one week closer to a new direction that these players and supporters desperately need.

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
If he and Kozzie can kick 4.2 instead of 0.6 between them, we might be able to have a conversation. Can we at least kick more goals than behinds tonight?. All 4 teams in Gather Round have managed a combined 43.24 in these better than perfect conditions.

NON-MFC: Round 05
He dropped those sitters after I posted the suggestion so it didn’t age well. The point still stands that he’s a viable forward -ruck “30 goal a year” player that we should hunt this off season.

NON-MFC: Round 05
Fair call GW.

Time to go Goody?
In a parallel universe that saw us got Chris Scott, our membership would increase from 50,000 to 70,000 at the click of a finger. One of the sharpest minds in the recent years. A coach that keeps evolving Geelong from a 1 year dip to constant finals, prelim finals and premierships. And of course the ability to attract A grade talent in Cameron and Bailey Smith. He’s also brilliant in press conferences.

NON-MFC: Round 05
Agreed they lost to GWS badly, but they’re building into their season nicely. And Bulldogs and Sydney are definitely not mug teams who they’ve beaten.
-
NON-MFC: Round 05
Rjay, they’re going better than ok. They’re 4-1 with an absolute stack of MCG games to come. They’ll likely finish top 3 and if they can avoid Brisbane at the GABBA in week one, they probably play in this years GF.

NON-MFC: Round 05
Not Goodwin related. Why can’t we bring the elite pressure that Collingwood bring most weeks, especially tonight?
-
NON-MFC: Round 05
How’s Hayden McLean’s availability at the end of the year. A viable second ruck that nails difficult set shots.
-
NON-MFC: Round 05
Slightly surprising we didn’t aggressively pursue him, assuming we didn’t. If Collingwood knock off Brisbane at the GABBA next week, they go out right premiership favourites in my book. Watching the game live they have that prefect balance between attack and defence.

NON-MFC: Round 05
Is it coaching or our playing list? If Jordon’s tagging Naicos he isn’t doing a great job. Minus 7 in possessions and on track to concede 30.

NON-MFC: Round 05
We’re unacceptable at the moment GW. Obviously every thread is going to have a negative slant.
-
NON-MFC: Round 05
I’m flabbergasted beyond belief that people tipped Collingwood to miss finals. The most obvious rebound year imaginable.

Head over to the “Time to Go Goody” thread at 9:40pm local time.

NON-MFC: Round 05
Adelaide almost kicked half of our total season goal tally in one night. In a loss.

PREGAME: Rd 05 vs Essendon
In fairness, the way Geelong smacked Freo in round 1 at GMHBA and proved their bona fides last night against Adelaide with a few best 22 out, I’d suggest a lot of teams would’ve lost by 6 goals to Geelong last week, like we did. Sometimes it all it takes is for a horribly out of form team to put in an improved effort in terms of being in the game for 3 quarters and they then reference that as a turning point going forward. We were objectively better last week for 3 quarters until our mistakes and lack of forward options did us in. However we just can’t kick a winning score with this current squad and don’t have the forward line to rectify this IMO.
