  1. Wil Powell's copped a 5 week suspension for a homophobic slur. I think he was the bloke that had a crack at JVR on radio last year. He might want to ease up on the verbal.
  2. The double header on Friday night is due to having one less game on Mother’s Day. That one looks to be a staple in the fixture. After Friday night, Ess/GWS and Adelaide/Brisbane should be good games.
  3. GC usually have their best fortnight of the year in Darwin and then fall off the cliff. Therefore tipping Norf would he be beyond brave. Freo could definitely knock off Sydney in Perth if they’re at their best.
  4. Thanks FTB. They could've easily put Geelong V Port on Thursday night and us on the Friday night. Port haven't had a 5 day break yet and we've obviously already had one. (Geelong have already had one, but the AFL wouldn't dare inconvenience them any more than possible) I was under the impression Friday night takes priority over Thursday night, and by any measure our game is far more high profile than the Geelong/Port game.
  5. What sort of crowd are we expecting @FearTheBeard? High 50's given it's a Thursday night not in school holidays? They're not yet selling mid or back row AFL members top level which would suggest it's not going to be a crowd for the ages.
  6. It's unusual for players from the losing side to be the two highest vote getters but I don't disagree that Z Guthrie and Holmes were excellent for them.
  7. We've been a little fortunate with our oppo's inaccuracy at 44% which is the second worst in the league. The Adelaide, Hawthorn and Richmond games come to mind where the oppo's inaccuracy was deplorable. Unfortunately that will correct itself as the year unfolds so we'll need to be on our game with our accuracy. Contrast that to last year's finals series where our oppo kicked a combined 20.13 to our 16.28.
  8. Yeah I found Geelong's decision to rest BOTH of O'Connor and Parfitt interesting on the same weekend they lost Danger. Though they would've rested one or the other. Not sure if it was arrogance, were willing to cop a loss at 7-0, or just playing the long game. Not taking anything away from our win, and it's not as if those both those players are A grade guns.
  9. Damien Barratt didn't rate Fritta's goal as good as the Nick Daicos one, as it wasn't as important in the context of the game. 3 minutes left on the clock with a 2 point lead, to effectively kick the sealer not enough context?
  10. Yeah I can’t see Bevo lasting the year if they can’t even knock off Hawthorn with Libba and JUH back. The gap between their best and worst are poles apart.
  11. Well Goody did say McAdam wouldn’t be seen for a number of weeks in Friday’s presser.
  12. Any chance Essendon can get knocked off for dessert? Would cap off a terrific evening.
  13. Just 2% behind GWS who were unbackable for the flag last week.
  14. If Windsor doesn’t get a nomination this week I’m watching a different game. 2 absolute clutch goals this year in tight last quarters.
  15. Welcome to the world of tagging. Can’t believe it’s taken till now for clubs to put the clamps on him.
  16. Thanks mate. They initially had Clark as sub.
  17. And unfortunately Rohan not the sub for them. Typical he picks tonight to return. Edit - the afl site changed the sub from a Clark to Rohan (unless my eyes were playing tricks on me!)
  18. Yeah he’s certainly a barometer. If he plays at his best and does the midfield heavy lifting, Trac becomes more of a forward threat and we invariably win.
  19. Laughably if Essendon win they will be in the top 4 with a percentage of bugger all, if we don’t salute Saturday night.
  20. His Dad was carrying on like an absolute peanut in a corporate box.
  21. Anyone have an idea of the %win rate for teams on back to back 6 day breaks in recent years? Carlton are on back to back 6 day breaks next week which surely isn’t a bad thing for us.
  22. I'd like to think we can play them both as they're different kind of players and offer different assets. Melksham to play the defensive forward on the oppo's best defender such as Stewart or Andrews. However his offense is also weapon as he's a natural goal kicker. Meanwhile McAdam is purely an attacking forward who can take a mark, either contested or roaming high up the field on the lead. If both are to be regular fixtures, one of Turner, JVR, Petty or Chandler would need to lose their spot in the forward line. (I predict Petty finds his way back into defence by season end).
  23. A bit disappointing he's missed 9 matches but understandable they're playing the long game. Hopefully he'll debut for us in the WC game in round 10.
  24. Hopefully for Port's sake, Rozee's injury doesn't turn into a 10 week hammy that Oliver had, where they couldn't get to the bottom of it.
