  1. Yes they do and I won't be making any excuses. The problem is we have a few best 22 players getting some minutes for Casey such as Viney, Melksham and Hibberd which does not help us at all come tomorrow. Hoepfully next week Vs St Kilda we can add at least 2 of those 3 names into the side.
  2. Sounds like the Cairns game, except they kicked accurately in your dream. Scary thing is I can see us with 4 goals at 3 qtr time. They have a very good defense.
  3. Agreed. Jason Bennett should be on the full time channel 7 calling roster in the home and away season, if he hasn’t already. He used to call for the old Fox Footy in the mid 2000’s.
  4. I don’t believe we have an elite list at all. We lack lock down small defenders, small forwards that can kick 20 a year, barely any and pacy players and Oscar Baker as our other winger.
  5. The one that is fit, available and can help out our forward line depth in a time of need. Not the one that will show a cameo or 2 at Casey on Saturday while our forward line is a mess 50ks down the Monash.
  6. Is Oscar available to mentor his big brother before Saturday?
  7. So happy for him. Until we all go to the G on Saturday and watch our dysfunctional forward line in action.
  8. Good for him for making the most of a second chance. But there’s going to be some serious backlash if T Mac continues to stink up the joint in a loss this weekend while we hang on to an over the hill Mitch Brown and pick up a replacement forward that isn’t even ready, even through we’re crying out for a key forward depth.
  9. Is that the same Oscar that had to be moved to full forward against Sydney last year just to stay out of the way of the ball. Been on for 2 minutes and already kicked a goal, took a mark and won a holding the ball.
  10. Silvagni has done his shoulder. O Mac is on!
  11. Wouldn't IT be nice if we could open the season with two hot sides such as Brisbane and Port at the GABBA or Adelaide Oval. Or a West Coast V Richmond or Geelong game at Optus Stadium. Something different to the same old same old Richmond/Carlton predictable yawn fest. The GWS V St Kilda, Essendon V Hawthorn, Collingwood V Dogs games (and our game) should all be worth watching due to those games being hard to tip a winner. The rest of the games on paper appear to be a yawn.
  12. In fairness I think naming the side the day before the game has something to do with a COVID protocol, and hopefully it will be back to Thu night selections next year.
  13. HIbberd's been ruled out. Just too underdone.
  14. Excellent analysis and it's a bit of a fluke that we play a few sides that are coming off road trips - some from WA. I can't see us being any better than 3-4 though. I'm concerned about our weak forward line and still a bit scarred by the AAMI Series game against the Dogs where we were so poor that afternoon (albeit with a few out). Hoping it was a case of one team treating it like a week 1 final and the other managing their injuries to round 1.
  15. Now that’s a group of supporters that have a healthy respect and a large amount of admiration for the MFC...
  16. Agreed. If he wakes up on Saturday morning without a pulse, he’d have to be in a little doubt.
  17. Our master mind of a coach has ruled out Hibberd and Melksham. Both far too underdone. Steve May participated in full training and will play provided he wakes up well tomorrow and the day after.
  18. Agreed. I'd be quite comfortable putting that side on the park on Saturday aside from Preuss. And who's idea was it to play a 215cm giraffe at full forward in a tropical monsoon? Not sure which Cairns debacle was worse. The Freo or the Sydney?
  19. Salem played a full game against Richmond and played well. Not concerned about him. Hibberd, Brayshaw, Melksham and Kozzie could be risky and costly selections given their interrupted pre season. They’ll have to risk a couple of these as we had a lot of non performers against the Dogs.
  20. An interesting stat: Aside from GC Suns, we have the longest drought with regards to winning a final in back to back years. That occurred between 1987- 1991 and the drought cannot be rectified this year. I believe Carlton is the next worst - 1999-2001. #onlymelbournefc
  21. Did you get a follow up SMS from ticketek after you booked it? I'm still waiting for mine but I'm assuming you can access the ticket via email.
  22. Who’s going to use injures as an excuse if we get done considering Freo are missing their forward fire power in Walters and Lobbe as well as a few other best 22 players?
  23. 27 degrees and sunny on Saturday. Hope this suits our apparent fitness under Burgess. Still have painful memories of round 1 2019 when it was about 32 degrees.
  24. The actual trade we did stacks up. Got a first rounder for a talented but wayward forward and spent it on a top 3 full back in the competition that's well and truly committed to excellence after a shaky first year. But yeah, our immediate succession plan failed in recruiting a replacement until BBB. They (and we) were seduced by a 4 week T Mac-Weid sample space from round 22 2018 to week 2 finals. The sample space didn't extend to the 5th week when both players were diabolical in the 2018 prelim.
  25. Good point. They could move to the game to Adelaide Oval on Sunday week?
