POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs Adelaide
If the Dees treated the Crows with a bit of respect and not half arsed it for most of the night then the last couple of decisions wouldn’t have mattered.

Alex Neal-Bullen
Really glad he wasn't traded. Not sure if we wanted to keep him or if it was more a case of no other club interested. As others have mentioned he's a key to our forward line and the Carlton game was an example of a players that knows his way around the big sticks. His set shot goal to steady the ship in the first quarter was outstanding.

TEAMS: Rd 10 vs Adelaide
If we go 2-2 for the month of games after Adelaide, I sincerely hope one of those wins is against Bulldogs or Brisbane who I see as the benchmark this year.

CHANGES: Rd 10 vs Adelaide
Yes. An audition for the big 2 games. Also a risky proposition as we need to get the 4 points this weekend.

CHANGES: Rd 10 vs Adelaide
Ben Brown? Hitting .667 for poor games.

TICKETING: Rd 11 vs Western Bulldogs
I actually don't think it will be heavily booked. Crowds are really down at Marvel this year. Tickets at Marvel are on Ticketek. AFL members go on sale on Tuesday. Not sure about the general public.

A Danger Game
I’ll cop a loss this week if you promise me we’ll beat the Dogs next week.
-
CHANGES: Rd 09 vs Carlton
Must be a severe cork injury if he can’t get up off an 8 day break.
-
NON MFC: Rd 09 2021
Really good point. The only advantage of 1st over 2nd is you get the 8 day break into a GF if both sides qualify...which hasn't happened since 2014 (Sydney V Hawks)

Thursday Night Footy to Return in Round 13
Hawks actually got a Friday night game...interesting. Assuming the Thursday night games will go for 3 or 4 weeks and then typically disappear again.

What they're saying down at Royal Parade
I would say the fact that he's only kicked 1 goal for the season. Everyone takes more notice of the mids that kick goals. The mids that are being talked about this year are Petracca, Bont, Treloar and Mundy and one of the reasons for this is that they're kicking their 1 goal a game without fail.

What they're saying down at Royal Parade
A drunk Sydney supporter also yelled this out after the siren went at the G on Saturday night. I don't get it. How can you be lucky to win a game of footy when you're leading for 85% of the game.

2021 Injury List
I have a gut feel Jackson won't be with us long term but certainly will be in the short-medium term.

How likely a latter season drop off?
Expecting a mid season drop off like we did in 2018 - (Pies, Port and Saints losses in June 2018). But the big difference is this year we’ve banked far more wins than we did in 2018 which puts us well in the frame for a top 4 finish. The club has shown far too much in the first few weeks to throw it all away like North did in 2016. There appears to be a massive emphasis and a premium placed on defence, unselfishness, and being mentally in the game for 4 quarters. Characteristics that describe the best sides and certainly not the MFC of the modern era.

CHANGES: Rd 09 vs Carlton
I reckon Fritsch got the number 1 defender in Rampe last week. Might go some way to explaining his poor performance.

CHANGES: Rd 09 vs Carlton
If no more cases drop then it should be ok.

CHANGES: Rd 09 vs Carlton
I don't think Fritta's head was in the game ever since he was offered the 1 week. That's the only way I could explain his diabolical performance. It was by far the worst individual performance from an MFC player this year. It made Jones's effort against Hawthorn look half decent. It got to the point where I was looking to Goodwin to take him off the ground in the second half as his errors and lack of intensity was at risk of costing us the game. He has credits in the bank but he'd want to lift his performance this week.

TICKETING: Rd 09 vs Carlton
I just don't get it. Sutton comes out yesterday to complain that complacency has crept back into society, re: COVID. And yet he ticks off having level 4 of the Southern, Olympic, and Ponsford stands closed, which as you say promotes crowding. Sunday should get 45,000, and with the top levels closed, there won't be many empty seats in the lower levels, and thus no social distancing.

Potential priority pick for Kangas
No issues if they get one. They look like a 1-21 side. It would take a calamity of a performance for a team to lose to them this year. GC have been rubbish for 10 years and they've received a couple of late.

TICKETING: Rd 09 vs Carlton
This is becoming a joke IMO. Rain once again predicted on Sunday and yet 30 rows of seats undercover are closed off. Please MCG - open up the top level of the southern stand FCS.
-
CHANGES: Rd 09 vs Carlton
For those advocating for Harmes to be dropped, the coaches essentially voted him the fourth of fifth best player of the night. He won't be dropped.
-
Striped Socks
Yeah you're right. In 1998 we wore blue socks in a win up there at the SCG. I barely noticed the socks on the weekend as basically every player in the league has their socks down aside from Buddy, Tex Walkers and Joe Daniher.
-
CHANGES: Rd 09 vs Carlton
Maybe look to rest 1 or 2 against Adelaide as we have back to back 6 day breaks after Carlton.
-
Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
Can't imagine we'll be able to afford a big fish after all the re-signings we've managed.
-
NON MFC: Rd 08 2021
“Treloar slams the door shut” - Brian Taylor in reference to a Doggies goal that brings them within 19 pts (as opposed to kicking the sealer) Geez BT says some strange things.
