CHANGES: Rd 06 vs Richmond
May just has to pass some concussion tests and he’ll be playing according to Lever on 3aw tonight. His eye is coming along well.

CHANGES: Rd 06 vs Richmond
If Fritsch is ready, he's absolutely in regardless of Mitch Brown, Ben Brown, Weideman or Jones' s 300th. If Fritta gets up: IN - Fritsch, Weid, May Out - Petty, M Brown, Jordon (stiff), Sparrow. In reality you'd omit Jones and keep Jordon but we all know that's not happening. I wonder if Weid is a 100% lock? Ben Brown certainly won't play.

How many wins for finals?
An assignment for another time. I suspect 15 gets it done. We won 14 in 2018 and finished 5th, but would've finished 3rd had we just won one more game because of our excellent percentage.

Flag favoritism
Yeah I recall in 1994 we hit the skids in May and June and even lost to Sydney at the G who were terrible at the time. Collingwood started 5-0 in 2000 and won just two games for the rest of the year.

Chunky
They could go the cop out option and play him as sub. He technically suits up for a game of footy and earns his 300th without actually playing. Chandler was the round 1 sub and the records show that he earned his second career game that day. But he’ll be playing next week and if you listened to Lever in the post game, the players are absolutely pumped to share in his 300th on a big occasion that is Anzac Eve.

CHANGES: Rd 06 vs Richmond
I’m not against dropping Jones for next week as he was a liability today against a poor side. But no way do you bring him back the week after to celebrate his big milestone at a wind swept grave yard in front of 6,000 people. If you listened to Lever post game, he and his team mates are absolutely pumped for Jones’s 300th next week, so that’s good enough for me. I think Weid to replace Mitch Brown. The club has an obligation to play him after 7 goals in the VFL but Weid also has an obligation to step up next week in his 6th season as a top 10 draft pick. May for Petty. Goodwin suggested that Fritta has a bunch of hurdles to jump to play next week, so he might just miss the boat. BBB to debut against North.

POSTGAME: Rd 05 v Hawthorn
Goody sounded more confident on May than Fritsch.

CASEY DEMONS: Rd 01 vs Box Hill Hawks
And a ripper set shot around the body after the siren.

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Hawthorn
Clearly you have a good dose of MFCSS like most of us. If the big 3 in Gawn, Trac and Oliver have big games, we’ll win this.

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Hawthorn
I know it’s early days but a win isn’t crucial for our top 8 aspirations but it is if we’re any hope of making top 4. Can’t afford to look back at the end of year and rue losses against bottom 6 teams.

How many wins for finals?
This post did not age well.

How many wins for finals?
Since the comp became 18 teams: 2012 - 14 wins without percentage 2013- 12 wins without percentage. I’m not factoring in Carlton’s 11 wins default entry 2014 - 12 without percentage 2015 - 13 without percentage 2016 - 12 with percentage 2017 - 12 with percentage (the year we missed out on percentage) 2018 - 13 without percentage 2019 - 12 without percentage 2020 - I don’t consider this a proper season of footy. So in conclusion, 12 with a good percentage of 13 to be absolutely safe.

NON MFC: Rd 05 2021
I reckon Fritta has a bag of 6 in him before the season is out.

Welcome to Demonland: Trent Rivers
We had our heart set on Mitch Georgiadas until Port cut our lunch. We thus used that pick on Rivers. Be interesting to see who has the better career out of he and Rivers.

Membership 2021
And yet Carlton have 80K despite doing nothing since 2013.

Fritsch Out for 2 Weeks with Fractured Hand
Makes this Sunday’s game absolutely critical to win given we have May and Fritsch also out for Richmond. You know Fritta’s stocks have risen in a short time as his omission (for sleeping in) against St Kilda last year barely raised an eyelid around here.

Fritsch Out for 2 Weeks with Fractured Hand
Hopefully he'll be back for Richmond.

Ed Langdon on RSN (13/4/21)
I think that's a tough assessment of Langdon's 2020. Aside from the pre lockdown MCG games where he was very quiet against Geelong and Richmond, he had a very good 2020 season and played some great games such as his 2 goal performance against Collingwood. Was correctly rewarded with a 4th or 5th placed finish in the B & F. The only step backwards he took was kicking way less goals.

NON MFC: Rd 05 2021
Hoping for an ugly and unconvincing Richmond 6 point win over St Kilda. Lose and it will be a line in the sand game for Richmond on Anzac eve. Win convincingly and they’ll be back to their super confident best. Also think the Giants might knock off Sydney.

Why do the AFL media insist on calling every player a star?
Luke Jackson is a star because he allows Gawn to be even more of a star.
-
2021 Injury List
No way May plays against Richmond if they've quoted 2-4 weeks. Hopefully he'll be back for the Sydney game which will be a massive one.

Ticketing for Rd 05 vs Hawthorn
Any idea why they closed every level 4 area aside from the MCC on one of Melbourne's wettest days of 2021 so far, last Sunday?

The Zac Merrett Thread
I'd ensure we have enough in the cap to pay for Salem before I'd start thinking about Merrett.

Clayton Oliver Re-Signs Until 2023
Glad it wasn’t the other way around.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
His position in the side is invaluable as it’s allowing Gawn to play career best footy.
