  1. In dramatic breaking news Fremantle V Carlton now at the MCG on Saturday night. For those sticking around for the double header, you'll have leave the ground after the Dees game and then organise tickets for the night cap. https://www.afl.com.au/news/639760/double-header-is-go-freo-blues-venue-locked-in-as-afl-finalises-r16-puzzle First double header at the MCG since 1986. We beat Geelong by 7 points in the arvo game and North flogged the Bulldogs in the 5pm game according to AFL tables.
  2. I’d take more pleasure in Collingwood’s demise if we were one of the long list of clubs to have actually beaten them this year.
  3. I would never in a million years barrack for more cases to pop up in SA over the coming days but if they do, our game against Port will surely be moved. However, it sounds like further community transmission was unlikely with the existing cases and we’ll be playing over there next week. Moving the Adelaide squad to VIC was a probably a bit over the top by the AFL considering further transmission is unlikely.
  4. Freo V Carlton highly likely at GHMBA on Saturday night. Won't affect us.
  5. All 18 teams now in VIC. Even Adelaide who are supposed to be playing at home this Saturday in a state that currently isn't locked down. https://www.afl.com.au/news/639559/update-crows-power-off-to-victoria-as-sa-covid-cases-emerge Here's what my 18 team Melbourne hub looks like for round 17: Port Adel V Melbourne GMHBA - Thu 7:20pm Bulldogs V Sydney - Marvel - Fri 7:50pm Hawthorn V Fremantle - Launceston - Sat 1:45pm West Coast V North Melb -GMHBA - Sat 4:35pm Essendon V Adelaide - Marvel - Sat 7:25pm Carlton V Geelong - MCG - Sat 7:25pm GWS V GC - Ballarat - Sun 1:10pm Richmond V Collingwood - MCG Sun 3:25pm Brisbane V St Kilda - GMHBA - Sun 4:40pm
  6. Yes, good point. TAS like to close their borders as quick as the best of them. That will be a dream scenario to play Port in VIC. Even Ballarat will suffice.
  7. SA has had a family test positive. Lockdown imminent. We play Port over there, likely on Friday week. Could it moved to VIC or TAS (but hopefully VIC)??
  8. I'd be flabbergasted if we miss top 4 with a 17-5 record. Would mean the other sides from 2nd to 5th are basically all going perfect for the rest of the H&A. WC and Adelaide missed top 4 in 2016 with a 16-6 record, but I'm almost certain a side has never missed top 4 with 17 wins in the 18 club era.
  9. I think selection is easy this week. In - Ben Brown Out - Sparrow (who I was surprised wasn't dropped after QBday, but played much better Vs Essendon) The one game that BBB has played well in was against Sydney where we had the T Mac, BBB, Fritta and Jackson combo. That's the combo that we will go for this week should BBB be selected. Against Carlton he had Weid, T Mac, Fritta and resting ruck. Clearly it didn't work for him. Against North T Mac had to move to defence so it was a Fritta and BBB combo and he was quiet that day. Pickett's had 2 tackles and 0 goals in the last 2 weeks. He might be due a rest if he can't lift his output this weekend.
  10. I meant to say the we're the least potent out of the contenders, and will now edit it. I just re-read my post and I agree it was ludicrous and was written in error. My point still stands that our scoring has dried up and we haven't cracked 100 since round 6.
  11. Were there many Dee supporters sitting in the AFL members last week V's Essendon? That will probably provide a guide on how full the AFL members will be on Saturday, and I'm tipping it won't be anywhere near full.
  12. A lot of that centres around the fact that we have the least potent and least reliable forward line in the league. Conceding 8 goals against the Dons was fantastic. Kicking 9 goals was quite poor if we're being honest. That appears to be everyone's key concern at the moment.
  13. Yep, pretty sure it was. A diamond post amongst the utter dumpster fire of a forum over at Bigfooty.
  14. Found this one on Bigfooty. An unusual combination of bagging the umpires and complimenting us at the same time. Well done Dees. Super team, hopefully do some big things this year. very very poor umpiring but hey that's standard. Running games out pretty well which is so pleasing. I'd love to get some soldiers back to help out Parish and Merrett. I'm pretty happy with how we competed, just keep working and we will do well.
  15. Yeah we would. Unless the AFL implements an 18 club hub in Victoria, we'll be playing Port over there if both states are open to each other, which they obviously are now.
  16. Roof open for the pies game, as it should for all day games when it’s not raining.
  17. Young Austin jagged an impressive 22 DT points in his last Casey start. 2 more than Ben Brown in that game.
  18. Makes Chandler and Weid’s recent DT points look quite impressive.
  19. Only one team since 2012 (18 clubs era) has finished in the top 6 with a 13-9 record. Therefore, assuming Richmond finish the season 6-2 on the run home (and that’s being generous), I have them finishing 7th and a fair chance of travelling to Port or West Coast in week 1 where they’ve struggled of late. I’ll wager the kids and the cats that Richmond won’t win the flag this year.
  20. Can only imagine the clubs have been told by now. Sounds like it’s 1.45 or 7:25 for the Dees, and the AFL and channel 7 are weighing up whether to put on Burgoyne’s 400th or a finals relevant game in Melb V GWS for Saturday night. Quietly hoping for a good old fashioned Saturday arvo game.
  21. All Richmond have to do is lose to one of Geelong, Brisbane or GWS up there and they’ll miss top 4. No side in the 18 club era has made top 4 with 14 wins.
  22. He applied for and received the “arrogant nob” exemption for not wearing a mask.
  23. Another for the BT Friday night files: “Richmond started the season 2-0 and have gone 5 and 11 since”
  24. Exactly. Collingwood were apparently far more motivated than us, but that needs to stop as we head into the business end of the season.
  25. Geez all this talk about Essendon being even more motivated to win tomorrow night if Richmond gets done - I almost want Richmond to come back and win.
