  1. Hasn’t the NT come out and said that you need a special permit to quarantine in that state, if coming from a hot spot, and VIC is a steaming hot spot at the moment. Not sure attending a grand final would get you that special permit?? https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-08-08/nt-covid-cairns-hotspot-declaration-howard-springs-change/100359614
  2. Quick trip to Woolies this arvo: 1) Women with 5 kids walking into Woolies with mask below chin. 2) Women walking into BWS without a mask. 3) Two grown men playing basketball at the nearby school despite school clearly closed off to public. Any wonder we are where we are in that people just don’t give a stuff.
  3. Absolutely agree with your grand final points. Given how the game has evolved into a lower scoring code, if you’re inaccurate on grand final day, you’ll most likely be crying into your runner’s up beer. From 2007 - 2020 only one premier has kicked more behind than goals, and they were a potential Dom Sheed behind away from losing.
  4. Fair call to be honest.
  5. I’ve got no issue playing Port over there as the away team. This year has clearly shown us that we play our best footy when there’s a challenge put in front of us. Pies and Hawks and Crows were not a challenge at face value and looked how those games turned out. The last time we played at a genuine neutral venue it was against Collingwood and we were as a flat as a pancake.
  6. He asked Luke Beverage the first question of the presser via Zoom, Beverage wasn’t impressed with the question and responded with a question back to Tom. Tom was nowhere to be heard and clearly skirted the question.
  7. Is the fact that since 1990 every premier aside from West Coast in 1994 has gone at least 1 game in a finals series where they’ve avoided kicking more behinds than goals. All of these premiers have played at least 3 games. Now how amazing a stat is that- at least one game in a finals series since 1990, a premier has gone at least 50/50 conversion in at least one of their 3 finals, aside from West Coast in 1994. Moral of the story is that if we kick more behinds than goals in ALL (YES ALL) of our upcoming finals games, we’re only a 5% chance of winning the flag. Foot note- West Coast kicked 47.70 in the 1994 series which is completely unsustainable and unrealistic in modern day footy.
  8. Yeah fair call.
  9. It’s a sick joke if you ask me. A potential 17-4-1 season and we don’t host a game at our beloved MCG throughout the finals, and then face Port at AO in the grand final for a cherry on the sundae.
  10. Can’t wait for 2022.
  11. They most certainly went our way when GWS beat Geelong, Essendon beat Dogs and St Kilda beat Sydney a couple of weeks ago.
  12. Bont 5 touches in a half of footy.
  13. And Brisbane if we win I guess.
  14. If you’re managing 3 scoring shots a quarter and your star player gets a lousy 15 touches, you ain’t winning a game of footy.
  15. That guy is so overrated
  16. Decent goal by Wines there.
  17. Dogs couldn’t possibly be this accurate in a final.
  18. Another reminder for the Dees that straight kicking wins the crunch games. I was stoked we kicked 16.8 last week after 9 inaccurate weeks. Only 1 premier since 1990 has failed to kick more goals than behinds in at least one game in their respective finals series - and that was West Coast in 1994.
  19. Ladhams is quietly one of the best set shots in the league. One to possibly be aware of next week.
  20. Because they have the nutty professor coaching them.
  21. No Bont no Dogs?
  22. Dogs might stumble over the line but they’re not screaming premiership fancies to me.
  23. You’re right it didn’t. Case thrown out. Very good start by Port.
  24. If partners , kids, grand parents, swimming teachers and nanny’s aren’t invited to Perth, then the Adelaide Oval will host the Toyota 2021 grand final. You can take that to the National Australia Bank.
  25. Was it? The goal umpire called it a goal and the video wasn’t exactly conclusive. 999/1000 times they go with the goal umpires call in an inconclusive call. Port were stiff.
