  1. We'd be doing seriously well if we can start 5-0 given we have the Dogs and Port in Adelaide. GWS at the G won't be a picnic either.
  2. I don't think we'll ever be blessed to the extent we were in 2021. Hopefully blokes like Weid, J Smith, Hunt, Dunstan, Melksham and Tomlinson can slot in seamlessly the way Petty and Bowey did in 2021.
  3. Petrracca owes this guy a beer. Salem should’ve won the Anzac eve medal given he kept us afloat in the first qtr and could not have played a better game in the GF, but his mate took both medals. He’s in the peak years now and has come a long way from suiting up with Casey in 2017.
  4. We might be able to get away with one long term injury for these three but any more and I agree, we'll certainly drop out of the top 4 and maybe the 8 altogether.
  5. Are our double ups in 2022 really that much harder than 2021? In 2021 we played Dogs (2nd), Geelong (4th), GWS (6th), Hawthorn (14), Adelaide (15). We ended up having a tough fixture in 2021. And, our double ups in 2022 are very similar to Richmond's flag defense in 2021 when they played 3 top 6 teams twice from the previous year, like us for next year.
  6. Agreed. We’re absolutely hopeless against North at Hobart. Even during a season when we win a flag and they cop the spoon, we still take 3 and a half qtrs to put them away at Blundstone.
  7. If Carlton are any good next year I can see our round 22 home game attracting 50K regardless of time slot. Could be a public holiday type money spinner.
  8. We were always going to be away to Richmond this year. We had an 85K capacity for our home game this year but only 55K bothered showing up. Collingwood you could argue should be our home QBDAY game considering we haven't hosted them at the G since 2018. Although I think we got the SCG gate this year.
  9. Annoyed we have to play in WA twice. Brisbane at the GABBA is a tough way to end the year. We don't play at the MCG for five game in a row which is bizzare. Double ups against Dogs, Port, Brisbane, Collingwood and Freo. Geelong at Geelong. Lots of prime time early. Q'bday away game despite technically Collingwood hosting the last proper one in 2019.
  10. Provided we're fixtured an away game against Geelong you can bet your life we will be sent to Geelong. I'd imagine the AFL will want Geelong and us to meet twice. Geelong usually play 2 home games in Melbourne and one of those is already confirmed to be Essendon.
  11. They already have 2 more Friday nights than us and the fixture hasn't even come out yet.
  12. Are we allowed to attend this summer or do we have to hide behind a tree like last year?
  13. The second of those three NT games is GC V Hawthorn. Doubt we'd make a cent out of an away game to GC in Darwin but you never know.
  14. I assume the above is a guess but is there any danger in us avoiding West Coast in Perth for a change? I think we've copped them in Perth 11 of the last 12 years, and haven't played them in VIC since 2014.
  15. 25-29 would be the sweet spot as a general rule, I would’ve thought.
  16. Hopefully they’ll remember to play the song in 10 months.
  17. Won’t be back till after Xmas because of the borders.
  18. Judging by the feedback in this thread, this game doesn’t get more than 45K if it’s on a Wednesday night. Our opponents are not a high drawing side. We couldn’t get even get high 50’s to Anzac eve on a Saturday night this year despite an 85% available capacity. I’ll happily go to the game regardless but I think the AFL are getting too cute with Wednesday night scheduling and Pert should be going into bat for our loyal members who would collectively much prefer a Friday night game.
  19. We opened the season in 2000 against Richmond on a Wednesday night. That was a period when the AFL went a bit off the rails and experimented with mid week games.
  20. Wednesday night footy at the G with crowds still beats watching a grand final on TV stuck in lockdown.
  21. Sparrow came a very long way since the Collingwood game.
  22. Van Rooyen suggested he’ll be training with Jackson through to Xmas in Perth. At least that’s what I thought I heard??
  23. Am I correct in assuming Luke Jackson won’t be in attendance.
  24. I'm tipping 28.5K for the game.
  25. Excellent re-signing. I remember at the end of last season he remained un-signed and I was worried we were going to lose him as he'd had a wayward season in front of goal, he'd been dropped for sleeping in whilst in the hub and then there was the famous axing after the 2018 semi final. He could've been forgiven for wanting a fresh start I guess. Fast forward a year later and he's kicked 6 snags in a GF, almost kicked 60 for the season and he's now going to be a key part of our next 5 years. Well done to both parties.
