NON-MFC: Finals 2022 Week 01
This is got a stench of 2018 Optus Stadium prelim about it.
-
NON-MFC: Finals 2022 Week 01
Collingwood’s most compressive loss of the year was against Bulldogs.

NON-MFC: Finals 2022 Week 01
Dogs 2016 finals campaign : Perth - MCG - Sydney - MCG Doge 2022 finals campaign: Perth - MCG - Sydney - MCG History surely not repeating.

If we win the flag from here I will..
Pies won’t be going out in straight sets if today was any indication. Think they’ll easily account for Dogs or Freo with an 80-20/90-10 crowd ratio in their favour.

NON-MFC: Finals 2022 Week 01
Fine line between pleasure and pain for Collingwood Win tonight and they’d fancy beating Brisbane or Melbourne in a prelim. But now they face the boobie prize - Sydney at the SCG.

NON-MFC: Finals 2022 Week 01
I wish our defensive pressure was as intense as Collingwoods (and Sydney)

NON-MFC: Finals 2022 Week 01
Who’s looking forward to another round of “Collingwood” and “USA” chants in the prelim if we progress that far?

Farewell Luke Jackson
Should be dropped for Weideman next week. Jackson is stealing valuable ruck minutes off the best ruckman in the league and you’d back Weid over Jackson as a mostly stay at home forward.
-
CHANGES: SF vs Brisbane
I know it won’t happen but: In - Weideman, Out - Jackson Why? Gawn to play 80% of the game as a ruckman because he’s the best ruckman in the league and should be played there accordingly every week. Weideman to replace Jackson as Jackson has next to zero forward craft and I don’t want him playing down there 80% of the game and clunking 1 mark if he’s lucky. Weid’s obviously a forward by trade and has a history of playing well in his return games.

POSTGAME: QF vs Sydney
I thought the Sydney supporters were relatively tame in their celebrations as if they expected to win and have their eyes firmly on the big prize. Compare that to Collingwood supporters who would’ve celebrated last night as if they’d won their 5th flag in a row.

POSTGAME: QF vs Sydney
Sucks that most of us missed the game.
-
POSTGAME: QF vs Sydney
Highest placed QF gets the Friday night prelim. If Collingwood somehow beat Geelong, Sydney get the Friday night prelim and we’d potentially play Collingwood on the Saturday twilight or night slot.
-
POSTGAME: QF vs Sydney
So if Geelong win tomorrow and we beat Brisbane, it will be 3 Friday night finals in a row.

Demons won't win the flag in 2022.
Hard to have confidence given we’re 0-5 against the top 4 sides. After week 1 finals last year we were 1-0 against Port, 2-0 against Geelong and 2-0 against Brisbane. They were the other top 4 sides of the 2021 season. Much like our atrocious MCG record against Sydney, short and long term history is against us. It’s looking like we’re a 4th-6th side this year.

Farewell Luke Jackson
Very harsh mate. We wouldn’t have a flag without his 4 possession 1 free kick (against) third quarter in last years granny.

POSTGAME: QF vs Sydney
Hawks somehow when to Perth twice in the 2015 finals and won the flag. Richmond lost their 2020 qual final. Pretty sure West Coast and Sydney lost their qualifying finals in 2006 and 2005 respectively.

POSTGAME: QF vs Sydney
Particularly the latter of the two rucks you mentioned.
-
POSTGAME: QF vs Sydney
No woulda, coulda, shoudlas about tonight mate. Beaten fair and square by a high quality side on an 8 game winning streak.

Demons won't win the flag in 2022.
We’ll probably dodge a bullet by avoiding Collingwood in a prelim, so you never know.
-
Farewell Luke Jackson
Was absolutely pathetic tonight. One mark and absolutely taken to the cleaners by a 4 club journey man.
-
Selwyn Griffith
It was always going to be a massive setback when Burgess chose to leave us. Probably premiership implications.
-
POSTGAME: QF vs Sydney
Absolutely agree with that. Since our impressive win over St Kilda in round 8 we’re 2-5 at the MCG and one of them we stole one over Carlton. The stats don’t lie and I feel we may have gone to the SCG with less pressure and a rock solid interstate record under belt. May have been a different result.
-
POSTGAME: QF vs Sydney
Oh well at least we’ll probably avoid our other bogey team in Collingwood in a prelim. (If we get the job done next week)
-
POSTGAME: QF vs Sydney
We have a 2-11-1 record against Sydney at the MCG since 2002. let that sink in.
