Surely we’d push a trade to the Eagles as they’re less of a threat in the next few years. That said the Eagles have a lot less to offer than Freo.

I never expected to go back to back but I did expect to make at least a Prelim and win at least one final. Yes finishing 2nd on the ladder and 5th overall isn’t a disastrous season but right now it just leaves me feeling empty.

In 2021, we had a dream run of injuries aside from Tommo’s knee, Viney’s foot and Langdon being concussed. 2022 has been a total nightmare by comparison. According to the AFL Tables website - only Brayshaw, Fritsch, Petracca, Spargo and Jordon played in all 23 Rounds from 33 players used. To what extent did injuries to key players and those carrying injuries contribute towards our end of season fade outs and/or a lack of cohesion among the playing group?

People forget how crucial BBB was in the 2nd quarter of the Grand Final - the only goal kicker when the tide was turning. I think people are happy to jump all over him because he’s relatively new as a Demon. He’s had to battle a knee injury the entire time he’s been with us and been played as a single key forward against the best defenders every week. Will defend BBB any and every day.

And to the Brisbane supporter who condescendingly yelled out “GO LIONS!” as he got off the tram after the game….. Enjoy getting touched by Geelong next week you [censored] muppet, when you win more premierships than the Demons then you can talk.

Totally embarrassing end of the season for the club - get straight settled on our home deck by a team we slaughtered during the season by over 100 points collectively. This is peak Melbourne. We finish second on the ladder then proceed to lose two home finals to interstate teams at the MCG - what better way to repay the loyal 66k faithful. This is is a bitter pill to taste and it only makes being unable to witness in person last years finals series even more depressing. Thank god we banked the 2021 flag because I can’t help but think we’re destined to go backwards next year.

Trust issues but happy to be up and keep a high scoring team to 3 goals for a half. Just need to get a quick start to the 3rd and bury this mob.
