  1. ā€œLittle worrying that if we are to be a top side you probably shouldā€™ve be getting touch ups on the big stage. We are spooked I reckon and could be some mental scars. They had no Gawn and Pickett also . Pretty embarrassingā€ Their pain is real after quite a lot of confidence leading up to the match and probably justifiably so.
  2. Resounding victory. The future is bright when you think of our depth of young blood (23 and unders) stepping up week after week and playing their roles: Pickett, van Rooyen, Sparrow, Jordon, Rivers, Bowey, McVee, Chandler, and Petty.
  3. Played on infront of the mark
  4. Free Kicks: Melbourne 8 / Sydney 13
  5. First goal of the third will be criticalā€¦
  6. Just typical of us to let them back into it. Had them on the ropes and now itā€™s a line ball game with all the momentum Sydneyā€™s way.
  7. Mufasa FC - of course we couldnā€™t hold on till half time.
  8. Umps slaughtering us
  9. How was that not in the back?
  10. THROW!
  11. Iā€™d love the thoughts of the panel on Ben Brownā€™s impressive first two games of the season. Iā€™ve seen unselfish goal assists, buying into team defence by going deep into the Defensive 50, clever snaps around the body, nailing goals on the run as well as set shots from long range. Brown is also currently the joint leader of the Coleman Medal with Curnow and Cameron on 8 goals from two games. Personally I think 2023 could well be BBBā€™s best one yet in the red and blue.
  12. Game over
  13. Down two best players (May/Gawn) by end of first quarterā€¦
  14. ā€œThe big worry for me is how hobbled Gawn and Petracca were and won't be this time...ā€
  15. Respect the opponent and play our game. Theyā€™re on their home deck and embarrassed us in a clutch final just a few months ago. They will be fired up after last week with a point to prove. MFCSS would be a lot less if not for a Pickett brain fade last week but we have some huge ins and I think our defence will again be the deciding factor. Besides Andrews and Rich, the Lions are Apron FC (no backs) and I just canā€™t see them holding off Brown, McDonald, Fritta let alone our small forwards. Dees by 20 points.
  16. Loved both Nibbler and Spargoā€™s game on the weekend. These two were pivotal in their own ways during our premiership season but had far less impact in 2022. While Brown and Pickett deserve huge plaudits for their efforts, when our small pressure forwards are firing like they were against the doggies this is a huge barometer of whether we get the W.
  17. 3 day old daughter thought we looked pretty good tonight and it was nice for Winnie to end the night a winner! She missed the final siren after cracking it early in the last when she needed a feed. BBB an underrated star. Liked what I saw of McVee and Sparrow too! Pretty decent to put the Dogs in a spliff and still have Fritta, Salo, Viney and May to return!
  18. How was that not paid in the back?
  19. Missing May šŸ˜¬
  20. First child born on Thursday so her indoctrination as a little Demon starts tonight. Winnie and Daddy will be barracking hard from the couch! Will of course be trying to be on my best behaviourā€¦ Hunter to play a blinder - Dees by 18 points.
  21. To what extent will the Dees be less predictable in attack this season with two genuine wingers in Hunter and Langdon compared to 2022?
  22. Non-Langdon wing sorted for 2023.
  23. Keen for your thoughts on who was Melbourneā€™s most improved player for season 2022 and why?
