  1. Pathetic crowd. Puts to bed, yet again, the myth about dees fans not turning up.
  2. Pretty much all of us haven't been able to attend a maggots game for 3 years. Can't wait. Let's bury em.
  3. 21k tonight surely puts this debate to rest. Surely time to stop getting stuck into your fellow dees fans.
  4. Track'll get his crowd on Monday - I'm looking forward to him tearing it up!
  5. I've had a gutful of people getting stuck into their fellow dees fans on this site. Some people are quiet. So what? I carry on like a pork chop at the footy but that's my personality. Other people are quieter than me. That doesn't make them less passionate. I go every week but some people can't make games for a million different reasons. That doesn't make me a "better fan". We've all gone through decades in the wilderness. We have our highest membership ever, our attendances are amongst the highest in the comp, we're top of the ladder and we're bloody premiers. And you know what? I reckon we're going to win the bloody flag again. Is there any danger people take a second to smell the roses? These are great days for our club. Let's enjoy the ride.
  6. 34k for the dogs vs cats game.
  7. Interesting. I definitely felt like we were better away from the G in 2017 and 2018. Ironically we love docklands these days.
  8. I don't buy this. I think it's a result of being an established contender. Anything less than a flag is a failure this year. There isn't much that can be achieved week in week out. Therefore there isn't much excitement at this time of year. But when you're middle of the road desperate to play finals, every game is a mini-elimination final with a better atmosphere. When you're the best side in it and you beat some team of nobodies by 28 pts it's just never going to be going off. And we're the reigning premiers so it's not like beating team x proves we're the "real deal". We already know we're the real deal. In the past dees fans have been accused of getting overexcited after a win.
  9. They definitely didn't outnumber us. When we dominated at the start our fans were barely cheering. I looked around after some of those goals and less than half our supporters were even clapping. It was amazing.
  10. When track had that snap in the last that just missed the members were up on their feet. A close game where we are challenged gets the crowd going. We've basically had comfortable victories or got smashed. You need tension for atmosphere. We've got a tougher draw now then finals. The atmosphere will be better.
  11. Great OP. I despise Essendon and carried on like absolute pork chop when we beat them. But in general it's good to be good winners and gracious losers on the rare occasion that happens.
  12. Well that's 9 mins I'll never get back. Andy Maher thinking he's come up with something profound when blind Freddy has been saying for 15 years the game isn't one on one anymore. The only thing that matters is premierships. How good we are compared to other teams comes down to how many flags we win.
  13. All the talk about pop etc isn't really relevant. This proposal is suggesting the team would basically be govt funded. And as these things tend to go, plucks a number out of thin air in economic and social benefit to justify the public funding.
  14. I have nfi if the economics adds up, but it'd be awesome if they had a team.
  15. Great for sparrow to get some votes.
  16. I was the game. Good hard fought victory. Small crowd but pretty good atmosphere I reckon with both sets of supporters making a racket. Good day out.
  17. Essendon are soft and should be more like the dees. Id love to show 15yo me this content!!
  18. I reckon this is a long bow. Bit of harmless theatre imv.
  19. A lot of this thread is grappling with the question of what the appropriate level of flogginess for us to adopt is now that we're good. My approach is to pick certain teams and mates who were pr!cks when we were no good to really go after and act magnanimously with the rest. So that means I really carried on at the Essendon game, and really nail a few select mates 🤣
  20. If you only win 3-4 for the season then you'll clearly have a bigger emotional high when that happens. But the biggest emotional high of all is winning a flag!
  21. I remember schwarta kicking 3 on return from his knee against the pies. Then he did his knee the next week against the swans. We won the game but it felt like a loss leaving the G.
  22. I'm torn between having a soft spot for them because they supported us at the granny and wanting to tear them limb from limb and kicking them while they're down like everyone did to us 😂
