  1. Which is where most of the articles about the club come from. Seems we can't crack it for much of a mention in the HUN, being the Collingwood newsletter and all.
  2. Of course - it all comes down to money, and the less the AFL have to pay out of their coffers, the more left for trips to the Superbowl etc.
  3. If Mr A.D. changed Mission's mind, why didn't he change it so they became our sponsor?
  4. I wonder if the Dogs signing up for $1.5 million per year compared to us negotiating and almost signing up for $2 million per year, as mentioned in the article, was a major influence in the final decision? Were we asking for too much? Anyway, still 12 days until our first NAB Cup game so plenty of time for something to be sorted.
  5. Negotiating with a new sponsor before the current arrangement expires isn't bad form. Manchester United recently found out that AIG won't be renewing after the current contract expires in June 2010, and since then have been in negotiations with selected organisations for July 2010 onwards. They are asking for upwards of 20 million pounds and it appears that there won't be much trouble in getting it. I would have thought we would have explored other options even if Primus were going to extend, just in case. Anyway, hopefully something arrives soon.
  6. He's a good bloke - very funny too. He owns a holiday home where I live and we have the occasional chat about the Dees. I think he was one of the 150 Heroes announced earlier in the year.
  7. They should be banned from the site, picking those soft frontrunners. I chose Geelong - a pleasure to watch, even when hammering us. Other choices would have been St Kilda (for Robert Harvey) and Brisbane.
  8. Looks like I just put Naita in front by 1. Sounds like he plays more like a mid than a ruckman.
  9. 4th year as a country/interstate member. Get across from Hobart for at least one game a year. We always win when I go for some reason.
  10. I'm not sure who we can actually beat on this form. Looks like being a very long year.
  11. This is great, but not unexpected. I'm expecting some floggings this year.
  12. The tie is great. Got it on Monday and already worn it to work. Do I put it away to wear after a win, or when ever I feel like showing the colours? In the almanac, Cale Morton was either missing either height or weight, and there was a couple of other errors I noticed. In general, very good, and the stickers are better than previous years.
  13. Teams come out at 5pm today - just in time for Dream Team and Supercoach. Mick McGuane picked us to come 8th on 927 this morning. On the Dorks for this week, I read somewhere that Williams and Boyle won't be playing.
  14. It's going to need a huge turnaround to even be competitive against Hawthorn, even with their missing players.
  15. Apparently he racked up 110 dream team points, so must have found the aggot a fair bit.
  16. almost in order Hawthorn Essendon Collingwood Carlton Adelaide
  17. No, I think you get some sort of pashmina scarf.
  18. Doesn't really matter to teams like Geelong it they win it - they still get 4 pre-season games anyway. The NAB Cup only matters to clubs trying to boost membership and get the confidence that winning provides. Look at the Saints in 2004 - won the pre-season and the first 10 games of the season proper. We need to do well - what if Geelong play all their kids and beat us at full strength. That would be terrible for confidence and membership.
  19. Just paid my membership. Looking forward to getting the tie. My boss is a Filth member and has a tie (which I hate looking at), so now I will be able to wear mine. Got enough scarves. A cap as well would have been good. In 2006 I got a scarf and a cap - I'm an interstate member. Did everyone get both that year?
  20. Could he play as a wingman? His pace is pretty good and he's not a bad kick.
