I joined DL in April 2021 so it’s needless to say I’ve not been here for the 💩 times, only the good and great times. 🏆 Andy and co. provide an awesome service and I’m forever grateful to be a part of this site. 💕 There’s some absolutely beautiful souls on DL. But if I may, I wanna thank one in particular, that being the young Dees diehard who introduced me to DL in the first place. He’s a longtime member of DL who reads the content but never posts (hey hey 👋 you know who you are. 😘). How did we meet? I’m glad I asked. 😁 So, I had a tradesman at mine doing a repair. When his work was finished he came into the kitchen with the paperwork, saw my mini shrine (my pantry wall) and uttered those five magic words… Who’s the Melbourne supporter here? Well, what ensued was the biggest Dees-nerd sesh ever there was. We gushed about our beloved Club for like 40 mins or so. He told me about DL and I joined that very day, probs before he even left my driveway. 😆 THANK YOU ANDY AND CO. ❤️💙💖❤️💙

Everyone else has freely expressed their disgust/anger/disbelief at this incident, why should it be any different in my case, right? But this isn’t actually about the HP incident. This particular poster has it in for me regardless of what thread we’re in. It’s a good thing I’m growing a thicker skin just like Uncle Bitter said I should. 🙂

Sounds simple but… Be kind to a person unless and until they give you a reason not to be. Always err on the side of: someone is going through a tough time therefore cut them some slack. Don’t judge someone (with whom you’ve interacted solely online) based on one-dimensional texts/posts as they simply cannot convey tone. LISTEN to a person. Really listen. Hearing someone is one thing, we can all do that. But to listen (in the true sense of the word) is priceless and all too uncommon. It’s a skill that can and should be learned. And for some, all the world is sunshine and lollipops and rainbows and unicorns. But that’s ok. Let them be, because for all you know they may suffer Depression and have done so for decades and/or are only 18 months down the track on the road to recovery from a 16-year-long addiction. That’s just an example, of course. But it’s something to bear in mind when next you meet someone, be it online or otherwise.

Yeah, I suppose it’d be preaching to the converted. But I’m sure there’s a number of ppl who aren’t going because it clashes with another event. I’m by no means blowing my own trumpet and I know everyone’s different in terms of commitment, but you wouldn’t believe what I’ve *bailed on in order to attend a match, on three occasions this year. Moreover, one such occasion was at that freezing, fetid cesspool, Kardinia Park!!! *Mum’s lamb roast over a date with Tom Cruise is nothing in comparison. 😁
