Depeche Mode = 🤌 ⭐️ 💛 I was a huge Rammstein fan back in the day and my fave song was “Stripped” which I later discovered was a Depeche Mode song. Respect.

They’re a band. They’re one of many, many bands. I understand they are considered important by probably most people but I just don’t like their music.

I’ve seen my favourite band, Sigur Rós, six times. Three regular shows in three consecutive years, twice at festivals and then the world premiere of their music documentary, “Heima” followed by a Q&A. I had a ticket to see them in August this year but chose to go to our Round 22 match (vs Carlton) instead. I bought the concert tickets not knowing there’d be a clash (thanks floating fixture!) but don’t regret blowing off the concert since remember how that match ended???😁

They’re everywhere! And they must procreate more than anyone else since there’s so many of the little ferals running around.

I didn’t realise your comment was about Edge, the U2 member. I was thinking of a line from “The Message” a song by Grandmaster Flash which goes, “Don’t push me ’cause I’m close to the edge.” PS: not a U2 fan.

Depends on who’s saying it’s close. In this case it’s someone who’d know but isn’t on either “side.”

Maybe they just don’t like The Beatles. I don’t. Nor do I like The Rolling Stones. Same goes with a whole host of bands that everyone is expected to like. And I’ve been howled down many times for this which is ridiculous because one can’t force oneself to like certain music.

I just heard that the ‘vote’ is extremely close. So no matter which way you’re leaning, if you care about the result, best make sure you’ve lodged yours. 👍🏽

I’m not au fait with most of this, but having read all that I’ve received I have this question: So, “the member” was given our postal addresses, then sent us his printed matter (in which I found no fewer than six typos, just saying’). Then he applies for, and is given access to our email addresses with the stipulation that after Wednesday’s SGM all such email addresses must be destroyed. My question is: why would he so desperately want our email addresses, to the point of taking the matter to Court, if it was just to reiterate what was in the snail mail AND if he’s been ordered to destroy the info on Wednesday?

… and you should seek it out. Coz if you don’t, you’ll only ever have the same old same old and the ‘top 40’ (including winners of Australian Idol and The Voice) to listen to.

Found some stuff we both like, Dr. G! The bolded bands I’ve seen live (I saw Tool live twice in the space of eight months since they toured Aus frequently like all bands should, but don’t)

My all-time fave song is called Karibien by a band called Air France, a Swedish indie duo whose music was in the genre of “post-rave bliss” or “beach foam” as are many of the bands I love. They formed in 2005 but broke up in 2012 breaking my heart in the process and leaving the stingiest back-catalogue ever (two EPs and three singles). They never toured and there’s no chance they’ll ever re-form. But what little they did leave for us fans is incredible.

FUN FACT: Goody’s all-time favourite song - not just his current fave, nor one of several faves, but his ALL-TIME favourite song is “My Happiness” by Powderfinger I know this because I asked him myself. You're welcome. 😁

I agree with you DD. I think his height (and potential for even more growth since he’s only 18) is what will see him through regardless of how much work other boys put in. Seems that attribute trumps all.
