  1. Well they are an old married couple so it would make sense. 😅 Speaking of which, during a match earlier this year, Knuckles McVee turned the ball over resulting in an oppo goal. Ricky Lever gave him an almighty spray, one for the ages. Ricky’s face was bright red and only an inch from Judd’s face. It was swift but it was brutal. Poor Judd looked so deflated. Maysie saw this and jogged over when Ricky was done berating Judd and without making a big deal of it, patted Judd on the bum and said something brief but effective because you could see it made a difference to Judd. The balance of their ‘parenting’ of the young defenders is fascinating to watch.
  2. I think KC and Marli were sitting with Maysie’s mum. Anyways, Maysie’s heart is SO big he can spread it to a horde of people and still have some love left for, say, Ricky Lever aka his “other half” 😂
  3. After his goal he made the love heart symbol with his hands and directed it to KC, the teenage heart transplant recipient whose story is the inspiration for this year’s indigenous guernsey, as created by his doting sister, Mali. ❤️💙
  4. It’s his 29th birthday today. Some positive energy sent his way is a great birthday present. 🥰 Doesn’t cost anything and you’ll feel good having done so, if for no other reason than he’s a Demons player.
  5. I’m sure the poster meant to describe Shane as lethargic or even languid when he used the word laconic. But because a word is misused a thousand times doesn’t make the misuse acceptable.
  6. We’ll be wearing this year’s Big Freeze beanie though. Otherwise we’d be wearing the Gus helmets. A couple of hundred of us wore them during our round one match vs the Bulldogs but unless you were at the ground you wouldn’t have seen them since the camera didn’t capture us during the match and the commentators didn’t draw attention to it. (I guess this falls in line with the AFL’s desire for the whole Gussy travesty to just go away already.) We took it upon ourselves to buy them but the MFC were onboard with it and even ordered and paid for the “GUS” stickers we had on them… Round 24’s looking good for a return of the Gussy helmets. (Soz AFL, we won’t have forgotten it by then, either.)
  7. Not necessarily. When they booed Grundy in his first game with us vs them, we drowned them out.
  8. I fully agree. But regardless of what we think, he’s part of the furniture there and likely will be for some time yet.
  9. Anyone who thinks for even a millisecond that Stafford will be shown the door needs to think again, but this time for longer than a millisecond. 😁 He ain’t goin’ nowhere. No Siree Bob. Just ain’t gonna happen. Therefore folks need to get used to seeing the man-mountain at the club for some time yet. 😃👍🏽❤️💙
  10. What does this even mean? Are you saying some of us have more time to do things like correct someone else’s misuse of a word and that when you retire you’ll have time to do this? If so, you’re not doing time-spending correctly. FWIW, I have two jobs. Besides, in half the amount of time it took for you to reply (above) you could’ve looked up the meaning of ‘laconic’ and this conversation would never have happened.
  11. Can’t argue with that. Shane is definitely laconic, hardly says a word. That is what you meant, right?
  12. At every opportunity??? 🤔 You’re not happy with this. With respect, whether you like it or not matters not. I’m sure if Goody and Co. aren’t happy with it something will be done about it. We shall see, huh.
  13. Did you stop to think why this may be? When he played for Adelaide this is what was expected of him. He should be forgiven for thinking this is all he’s good for. I talked to him about nicknames with a view to having a handheld banner made. I showed him a pic of a sign with him taking a huge mark (over the Dees, of all opponents 😅) which said “Up And At ‘Em McAdam!” He immediately said, “But that was when I was with the Crows.” The word “But” said it all. To me, anyways. As for Kozzie looking to pass to Shane, I hazard a guess that sometime soon we’ll all be raving about how well the two of them work together. Tracc and Clarrie come to mind. Please just give it time.
  14. This is definitely the case. Two weeks ago he was told he’d be debuting vs the Saints (yesterday’s match) but then on the Monday afternoon in the week leading up to the Eagles game, was told it would be that game. I think even he himself had some doubt as to his readiness.
  15. Shane is building confidence and confidence is key. In this respect he’s come a long way since December. As Dazzle said (above) it will click for him and when it does he’ll be a weapon. I truly believe this, and more importantly, I think he does too. Don’t let’s be quick to write him off. BTW, kudos to our awesome Steven May who’s taken Shane under his wing. In his words, “Maysie looks after me heaps.” Along with confidence - among other things of course - happiness and a feeling of being settled is critical to success. edit: forgot to mention… I met Maysie’s mum at Gosch’s on Saturday. She’s so down to earth and it’s clear he takes after her. They even have the same gait, which I found endearing. 🥹
  16. Rick Lever’s reaction to Maysie’s goal = THE BEST! 🥳
  17. Yesterday at Gosch’s I said, “Tommy, you’re turning back the hands of time” to which he replied, “I must be turning them a long way back coz I feel f@&#ing old!” 🤣
  18. All good RBMB. Knew it was completely out of character and was worried we’d lost you to the dark side. 😁 Glad that wasn’t the case.
  19. Now THIS is the guy you really are. 🤗
  20. BAHAHAHAHA!!!! You’re funny!!! #AsIf
  21. Not gonna lie, Andy… I absolutely LOVE this sch!tt 😁
  22. On the contrary, plenty was said of it… in the post-match thread last week, that is. And it was said in the post-match thread last week because IT WAS THE POST-MATCH THREAD LAST WEEK. Emphasis on LAST [censored] WEEK.
