Had a look today. Brown/Weid/Fritsch/Melksham and Jackson in a forward group to begin, marking on jumping bag, leading/goal kicking. Petty/May/Lever/Tomlinson/Rivers/Hibberd in defensive group. Lever mostly used as designated kicker during drills Rest of side were doing stoppage/ ball movement work at this stage Team then moved into match sim, notably Brown stood watching from the side, seems to be some issue Only omission from the main group in the 26 was Dunstan, who ran out with the secondary group afterwards. Petracca/Fritsch trying to get a lot of set shots in Clarry in a glove and handballing with the left

Melksham to play defensive forward on Aliir I would think
-
Hope he gets up with the 10 day break. Hell, even sub him so his game streak continues
-
They've had several night games. North v Richmond on a Friday a few years back, hawks have definitely had a few
-
Weid had one of his better games replacing Dogga, so I'm ok to see him as 2nd ruck/fwd. We definitely need a smaller, more mobile forward line though, so I would not bring in the additional tall
-
The fixturing of the game for Thursday was a terrible idea. Thursday's work sparingly as blockbusters only
-
Gawn/Jackson resting is good enough as the 2nd tall, if we can't get Tmac in. Don't think M.Brown is up to scratch, Weid/BB combo hasn't really worked either
-
Just doesn't have enough presence. His pairing with Brown has been a big fail, only looked decent replacing brown or jackson
-
Think we pick our best 22 regardless of position. Our defensive depth is crazy though, brayshaw and hunt have been so good and we still have Salem and Hibberd on the sidelines, and Smith and Tomlinson ad capable tall replacements
-
He can just be the sub to get 200 anyway
-
Most consistent player so far. I would have no problem with him being b&f at this rate.
-
Dogs wasn't great for the opener but our fans definitely weren't at fault. Essendon game I thought was most disappointing. Giants game was about as I expected. Last week too, but probably as a percentage more hawks fans than I would have thought. I'm definitely making a point to get to all games off the flag whereas in the past I would accept missing a couple due to work

Out of favour Eagle has informed the club he no longer wants to be there. Could be a valuable forward pressure asset going forward

Who will be our unsung Grand Final hero?

Spargo has his name all over this thread. Can deliver a huge quarter where he kicks 3 quick goals -
GAMEDAY: Rd 20 v Gold Coast Part 1

I would hardly call wasting nearly a whole day travelling good preparation -
His goal sense is pretty off at the moment. However, getting him in as a marking target I agree with. The change works too for mine, gives McDonald a chance to win some footy as 2nd ruck and Jacko is pretty lost as a forward option atm

I actually thought people watched a different game when I came on here post match. He was not the reason we lost. Thought he was our best in the first half and kept fighting all night. I don't know what people are expecting. People asked for him to lift after the GWS game where he legitimately looked out of touch and then he is in the thick of the action all game and probably more detractors are on his back.

Can we not experiment this one time we actually have a shot at a flag

On a dry deck in the afternoon, BB would be a good addition. Still not sure it's the right move for team balance, but I don't think he deserved to go out based on form. Happy to give him a run. Not sure who goes out. Kosi has been disappointing, but I still think his upside is too great as there's no replacement in that role

Any last min tickets?

Could imagine Adelaide v Brisbane twilight. I assume that gives us the fta Saturday night slot, unless they go with hawthorn for burgoynes 400th
-
I'd love to see him called up onto the podium like Bob Murphy in 2016, on the likelihood he doesn't get a spot
-
I agree. Why not run with our successful line up from the first 6 weeks.
-
Just had to find our feet after the first 15 minutes. Our defence is unreal. Literally 3 of our 6 are AA material. Amazing instincts by our players at stoppages. Sloppy patches towards the end of the 3rd but huge plays time and time again after mistakes. T Mac and Jackson are absolute beasts. Just love these players really.
