My 3 word player analysis vs Hawthorn
Commissioner Dreyfus replied to joeboy's topic in Melbourne Demons
If thats the case regarding Petty copping criticism Chief, Im with you. He was brought in to fill a crucial role in a well drilled and functioning back 6 after a considerable layoff with injury. Thats no mean feat. He played his role competently and did everything he was asked Harry can hold his head up high. -

What a great win and what a statement made today to the rest of the competition. Hawthorn had nothing to lose and will always be a competitive beast while under Clarkson. But unlike previous years in similiar situations, the boys held their nerve and backed their belief in themselves and the style of football they want to play. Today they showed what they can do when under pressure and under the duress of expectation! How they can grind out a really solid win! Im really proud of the boys!

Clayton Oliver Re-Signs Until 2023
Commissioner Dreyfus replied to Travy14's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not having a go at you Nasher, so my comments are more so leveled as an observation in general. I've lost count with the number of times I have heard people (and particularly those who claim to be in the know) , trot out a line about a players mindset or decision making process that has led to an outcome that they now claim having predicted or assumed would happen. It sounds very profound when it is said because people must think 'they must know'. It is the easiest thing to say and the laziest thing to believe. I hope you are right with your 2023 prediction. -

Except for Matt Rendell. He announced on Dwaynes show today that in his opinion Melbourne, along with West Coast, can go all the way. -

Clayton Oliver Contract negotiations
Commissioner Dreyfus replied to picket fence's topic in Melbourne Demons
So does anyone on here know the reason(s) as to why why Clayton hasn't recommitted to the club as yet?. Not enough money? Issues with Goodwin? Lack of faith in the direction of the club? I would love to know.
