What a great win and what a statement made today to the rest of the competition. Hawthorn had nothing to lose and will always be a competitive beast while under Clarkson. But unlike previous years in similiar situations, the boys held their nerve and backed their belief in themselves and the style of football they want to play. I've lost count with the number of times I have heard people (and particularly those who claim to be in the know) , trot out a line about a players mindset or decision making process that has led to an outcome that they now claim having predicted or assumed would happen.It sounds very profound when it is said because people must think 'they must know'. It is the easiest thing to say and the laziest thing to believe. I hope you are right with your 2023 prediction.
