I was looking through past phantom form guides by Cal, and came across the November one, which features Dogga at 11, Rivers at 23, and Pickett at 30. Considering we haven’t even reached Cal’s November phantom form guide this year, it just really shows how unpredictable drafting can be. I wouldn’t be surprised if we do trade up this year. We do it every year, and the following years draft is often seen as better, for whatever reason. I think we could do it, and still have picks next year.

The Bombers have put pick 4 on the trade table. I wonder if we go after it. The top 5 are meant to be quality (although you can never be 100% sure).

Fremantle's stronger suite of draft selections, including two future second-round selections and two future third-round selections, gives the Dockers a bigger hand to play with to get the trade over the line with some possible later sliding of selections an option. Jackson has always been favoured to get to Fremantle, with West Coast not in the picture at this stage. Brodie Grundy Collingwood has targeted a top-25 pick for Grundy, with Melbourne swapping its way into pick No.27. The Pies appear likely to wait and see if the Demons get any more selections in for Luke Jackson's expected trade to Fremantle, but the Demons' pick No.27 is on the table. Grundy has five years to go on his contract at Collingwood, with the Magpies to pay a portion of his remaining years as he combines with Max Gawn at Melbourne. Rory Lobb Fremantle has said that its contracted tall forward isn't going to be traded to the Western Bulldogs with a year to run on his deal. I agree. I would be quite disappointed if we didn’t at least try Petty up forward. He could be a threat as a forward imo, and bring better forward pressure at that position, than we currently have.
