My Round 6 Preview and Prediction
We need to bring energy and intensity for 4 qrtrs. Forward pressure is the key, so last week's level of effort is not going to cut it. Do or die Demons... Dig deep.

CHANGES: Rd 06 vs Richmond
Brown is a proven gun forward. Weid is a kid with potential who time to shine has arrived. Only one of them has a question mark over them. BBB gets the nod for me.

Training Ground?
Good question. I reckon, given comments re our defense and the lessons learned in the wide open spaces of Casey, winning changes everything. If it works for us on the field, it's the heartland. See what the future brings. Casey'll certainly help us whenever, wherever, it's blowing a gale.

CHANGES: Rd 06 vs Richmond
We're tall, but mobile too. Going to be very hard for any team to get through our defense with Gawn, TMac and Jackson all there for kick outs and Hunt, Hibberd and Pickett with speed for the crumbs, Viney's tackling et cetera... TMac on the wing is the big unknown, but given they trained it, there must be a rationale.....

Robbo
I think both.

CHANGES: Rd 06 vs Richmond
This is a very strong combination.

CHANGES: Rd 06 vs Richmond
This is a good question and has been well answered by Binman. Jackson stays because he is a nightmare matchup, a point of difference between us and every other team, and because he allows Max to go forward and back. Think of him as a very tall and springy mid that no opposition can cover.

CHANGES: Rd 06 vs Richmond
But playing them all could be a point of difference that the Tiges can't cover...

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Hawthorn
On a six day break before the Richmond game... Gotta know how to get the legs moving, no matter what.... start bloody running!

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Hawthorn
Lack of effort today. Why are we playing so slow?

Training Ground?
Taking CCP money entails political compromises. It means we throw Taiwan under the bus. Before we do that, we might to want consider if there are any other democracies of 20-odd million in Asia that we might want to preserve...

CHANGES: Rd 05 vs Hawthorn
Was thinking the same, but just watched the first half again and Jetts is our lockdown one on one man where Hibbo is the gun runner...... Might be an error to swap one for the other unless a change of strategy is required???

CHANGES: Rd 05 vs Hawthorn
"Melksham to Brown...?!" sounds like the cry of an overwrought commentator. Sweet. May and Nev out. Petty and Hibbo in.

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Good win that could have been a pasting. Thinking almost all the way through that Scott doubling down (again) on the old and slow strategy was a bad move. Suck that, Smith. Spirited work. More, please.

Eddie's Bold Plan for 20 Team Comp
Well, for what it's worth, I kinda like the idea. Eddie's energy and ideas, diligence, and maths for that matter, are optimistic and bold. But that's the kind of thinking that makes Western societies dynamic. Only thing is I reckon the talent is already spread thin. A country of 25 million, 2/3 of which play the game, can only produce so many elite athletes. One relocation and one closure would do it, or two relocations and a combine. Sure, either of these options are gonna hurt, but they've been done twice and we got used to it, especially once those teams experienced success... Teams have come and gone. Anybody still mourning University? Happens all the time with relegation in the EPL, recognising that fortunes wax and wane with talent and energy and ideas and application.

Game plans, tactics and all that jazz
A bunch of great ideas here and in the previous posts. Yeah, I'm totally onboard with three talls + Max ... as long as one of them is Jackson. My only caveat is that he is young, and though he ran a lot of K's and got a fair number of possessions he hasn't been an overwhelming presence, yet. But that is a big 'yet.' He's young, obviously, and bursting with potential, for sure; I just hope the footy gods allow it come to fruition. The though of Jacko ruck-roving to Max in the middle has me salivating. Next season, I reckon, once the young fella has another preseason in the gym. Much more worried about Weid.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
Cheers, that was excellent. A brilliant series unfortunately and maligned for it's title. Never bothered me, TBH, just thought it referred to pre-season training taking players to the toughest places.
