Farewell Judd McVee
Maybe our 2nd rounder plus Judd could net us 12? I don’t think so though…

Farewell Judd McVee
Possibility also he would nominate for ND and Freo would trade back from pick 12 and pick him there if necessary. Not sure other clubs would want to spend a top 30 in a bloke who doesn’t want to come to them.

Farewell Judd McVee
Maybe. Hopefully that threat is real. So little has been reported in Judd’s decision - did he speak to Wet Toast at all?

JJ was just bugging up Judd McVee on trade radio saying we should be getting something close to pick 12 for him! Brad Johnson had a nothing comment on the topic which showed he’d barely watched a minute of Judd play.

Farewell Judd McVee
Have we ever seen a player walked to the draft and not end up at the club they wanted to get to? Nick Stevens maybe but that was a long time ago. Just think Lamb’s ‘statement’ for Judd/Freo will be to push it to the wire before eventually ending up with a complicated swap of picks plus a 2nd rounder.

Sneaky entrant in my ‘most unlikeable footy personalities’ list. Cant ever recall him adding any valuable insight. As vanilla as they come.

Farewell Christian Petracca
With Essendon being stubborn on Merrett, I predict some talk re-ignites about Trac to the Hawks in a deal revolving around their pick 8 and Cam McKenzie
-
Farewell Judd McVee
Something similar may pan out (Melbourne have said they want to to get into the first round) but perhaps not directly with Freo

Pick 12 is overs for Judd. Not ridiculous overs and probably about right if he was contracted (ala Flanders for 7) but very unlikely to happen in an uncontracted scenario

Farewell Judd McVee
Some chat on trade radio on Freo possibly trading down from pick 12 to give us something in between their current first and second
-
Farewell Judd McVee
I reckon the crux of the deal will be a future 2nd. But Lamb will hold out until the very last minute. He sounded absolutely filthy about Judd.

Troy Chaplin MFC interim coach 2025
Are we certain they didn’t in fact just request a chaplain to resolve them of their constant sinning?
-

That’s what Trac has been told - mid/forward rotation. I think they could easily fit both in the side. It’s probably the next guy who gets pushed out, which is someone like Ainsworth. Which is a bit weird in a Dimma-side because Ainsworth is that pressure forward his game plan has always relied so heavily on.

Farewell Christian Petracca
One of Tom Morris’ predictions for trade week (in a filler segment on Trade Radio) was that the Petracca deal would ultimately get done but would drag on and would be dramatic, with Melbourne taking Trac off the table even at one point before ultimately relenting. Demonland would melt down.

Craig Cameron near-confirmed the Flanders deal with the ‘Aints was pretty close. Gold Coast give; Sam Flanders + 4th rounder Stk give; Pick 7 + 3rd round pick + baby bottle
-
Bailey Humphrey
It didn’t sound like that from the Craig Cameron interview - reading between the lines it sounded like Dimma had fairly clearly told Bailey ‘he ain’t going anywhere’

Flanders isn't coming to Melbourne. That deal to Saints for 7 will be one of the quicker ones to get done, massive overs for Ned. GC will back themselves in to get Trac deal done for picks.

Troy Chaplin MFC interim coach 2025
You don’t just get offered a role unless you’re out there looking. I think this is more about what Troy wants/needs to do for his career but 3 important people that we want to keep (Trac/Judd/Troy) upping stumps and leaving isn’t a great start for King. I think the club need to hold Chaplin to his contract here.

I truly believe they don’t care either way. Several years ago when GC were deadbeats, sure, but today I reckon AFL House would just be standing out of the way and letting the Suns continue what they seem to have done pretty well last couple of years.
-
Bailey Humphrey
I think he meant GC would ask for 3 first round picks for Humphrey. Dees would take 3 first rounders for a 30yo Trac in a heartbeat.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
An admission that it wasn’t actually a footy act? Throw in an admission that we were in fact better than them in ‘23 and he’s sold

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Would be interesting to see what happens if the club Clarry selects offers MFC a dud deal, whilst the other club was happy to stump up more.. not the done thing to tell him to look for a new club and then play hardball on which club it is. I get that he is contracted and all that but it’d be a bad look on our end.

I’ve warmed to King, but can’t help but think Bucks would’ve been a more attractive option for players during trade period. Maybe King will be that one day, but hard to get excited about a first year coach at a club with question marks if you’re from outside (having said that I reckon Trac stays if Bucks was here and Humphrey never in play).

Difficult sell to come to a club seemingly in limbo… wonder whether they have got Max and Kossie on the phone to him.

I heard he was VERY close but unimpressed with the gym
