  1. .Not really sure what ā€˜capable’ means in this context… One thing that can’t be argued is he is inconsistent up frwd and is an absolutely terrible shot for goal, which annoyingly is an important skill for the position. His goal accuracy this yr is 34% which is in the worst bracket for performance in the comp…. The majority of NBA teams have a more efficient 3 point average than Max has accurate shots at the big sticks.
  2. Also me: ✌
  3. Everyone: don’t look into the training photos too much. Me: šŸ‘€
  4. This news is bound to net us another 50+ pages on this thread.
  5. The way I read it is; Our game plan has three parts; 1. defensive structure that limits scoring (priority) and promotes rebound/turnover (2nd priority) 2. Strength at stoppage (to drive forward) 3. Contest and re-contest in the forward 50. we’re a bit (just a bit) off in 2 of 3; 1. Opposition put most effort into this - keep May & Hibbo deep when possible and keep Lever accountable. Salem & Bowey off too. 2. Feel this part of our game remains strong. 3. TMac missing a decent problem - largely because he creates space/protection for BBB who either marks it or hits contests better to provide more quality ground ball for our smalls. Plus he is worth a few goals too. a few screws a little bit loose, but just a little bit.
  6. If LJ departs, I have dibs on KALANI ARMY for my new profile name
  7. Sheeeesh, kid is BIG
  8. Not sure whether this is inspiring, embarrassing, clever or embarrassing
  9. Thankfully not wearing the away shorts tomorrow
  10. Maybe (maybe) if we win and we’re keeping them to a low score but please, please don’t pull it out after a goal or something like that. It’ll look tacky. COLLLLLLINGWOOD works because there are just heaps of them and they’re rowdy. That’s not us.
  11. Maybe that is where Meek comes into the picture… give him one additional year of apprenticeship under Ryder/Gawn
  12. Paddy Ryder anyone? I genuinely thought he was voluntarily retiring but that might not be the case. Obvious risk with his age and body but if you got 1 season and 15 games out of him… clearly on strategy for Goodwin’s game plan and would come a lot cheaper than Grundy…
  13. the boys will be happy - entrecÓte bookings sorted for another 2 years! 🄩 🤜
  14. I dunno about this idea… it’s the players’ thing and I believe they do it if they keep the opposition below 60 points. Would love to see it once in the crowd with 2 minutes left in a grand final we’re about to win but I feel if we see it done 5 times a week in the crowd it kinda cheapens a concept they clearly bond around.
  15. Maybe a muffled ā€˜booo-urns’ followed by a quick sip of beer and then get on with it
  16. Barham backed himself into a corner by listing the want for an ā€˜experienced’ coach as justification for the truck sacking. If you’re ever having a bad day, just remember it could be worse, you could be an essendon supporter. They’re being run like a 3rd world country.
  17. What the f has been Paul Roos been doing there the last few years? He’s quietly slunk into the background this yr
  18. All duck no dinner after the injury
  19. COYD
  20. I was pushing my kid in a pram one day with a Melbourne jacket on and I here someone scream at the top of their voice ā€œCARN THE MIGHTY DEESā€. Turned around and it was Archie Thompson riding his bike. Didn’t know he was a Dee. Makes sense now.
  21. That’ll catch up with him
  22. I love him too much to talk about a price. I don’t want him to go. I’m prepared to improve the weather in Melbourne for him if that is what it takes.
  23. They haven’t changed materially anywhere, Dees we’re into 1.96 with Sportsbet this morning. Harmes being named to sit on Neale isn’t going to shift the market - odds can often change as teams are announced because that’s when the markets only start to become liquid (just the bookies’ guess before that).
  24. Soul glo grease marks from a seedy mullet?
