I really don’t see that at all. Watts had a very fluent kicking style, Nairns’ looks very compact, oddly low ball drop. A bit jarring to my eye (hoping effective/efficient though). From the highlights I’ve seen he appeared to find himself in space in dangerous spots a lot, which was what Murphy Reid did week in week out this season.

Now we just need to slot him into our line up ala Murphy Reid at Freo last year

It was a rhetorical question, I’m familiar with Cal’s articles and the sequence of the leading into the draft. Often if he thinks clubs are sniffing around a bolter (eg Robey) the player shoots up in his rankings so I was more scratching my head why Nairn was still outside top 20

Why would his view on their abilities change between October and November?? Surely there is an overlay of where he thinks they will land

He had Nairn at 25 and said Dees are considering him with their top 10s and if he doesn’t go there Giants and Hawks would consider him in the teens… so why is he at 25 then?

Don’t mind the idea. Just not sure what he is like defensively and then what you would do with Salem if Bill slots in there. Has been pigeon-holed in the high HF/connector role in Goody’s game plan - a tough position (only one player has thrived there).

Lots of Trent Rivers suggestions. First step for him is making the step up to the midfield and proving he can play there. His 2025 was ordinary, albeit I recognise the plan changed late for him to move back.

Whilst loved, he is introverted and a past player has told me that Kosi and the indigenous boys largely kept to themselves at the club (at the time this guy was playing anyway). Big jump to go from that to captain of the entire playing group.

Was he a regular firsts player by year-end in the SANFL?

A) didn’t play enough games to qualify B) unsure if he even has a son, let alone a son who has potential. This thread really doesn’t need to exist.
