Malthouse's Comment...
I am OK with Malthouse's observation. Perhaps the players should put this comment on their 'mirrors' and use it as motivation. There is no doubt in my mind that this group have under performed up until now.

POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs West Coast
The world is depressing enough right now, without reading this bull tish.

Coronavirus: AFL & MFC
I was booked in for the AFL season launch lunch this Wednesday in the MCC dining room. Not surprisingly, this was cancelled this morning. I really enjoy these days, but clearly I don't get the chance to enjoy this year. I suspect there is more and worse to come for the AFL in the not too distant future.

Geelong Fined for "Inadvertent Admin Error"
We self reported when Joe Gutnick was in the chair. Carlton and Essendon were recidivists and by comparison to our penalty, got off rather lightly in my view.

Geelong Fined for "Inadvertent Admin Error"
Clubs perceived by the AFL to be powerful regularly get off lightly. Yet minnows like us get whacked all the time. To call the error "inadvertent" is a cop out of the highest order. A failure to abide by your fiduciary obligations, for any "business" is inexcusable. Ignorance is no excuse under the Law

Jack Viney a Liability?
Isn't nice how we all get along on here? A difference of opinion is fine and understandable on such a forum, but petulance belongs in the schoolyard.
-
Jack Viney a Liability?
Agreed. He is fitter, leaner and hopefully injury free. With a few others around him, who had injury interrupted preseasons last year and who will also be fitter this year, Viney's bullocking work will be rewarded, as we will have more outside run than in recent years

TRAINING: Tuesday 3rd March 2020
Great photos. Well done. I know every team says it, but our boys do look very fit.

Watching Rd 1
Nup. Good ole fashioned pub grub. The bar featured in the ABC series Jack Irish was modelled on the Napier bar. It is like stepping back in time and I and a group of mates eat there once a month on a Friday. Good craic as well.

How did May look? Is he set to go on Friday?

Of course. Silly me.

Obviously the club's nutritionists are trying something different this year.

Thanks for the clarification ?

Robbie Flower: 20 Great Goals
Was that the game when Matthews knocked out Peter Giles and received nothing for it? Disgraceful act it was too. If it is that game, we were coming hard at them and Matthew's action stopped our momentum.

PREGAME: PM02 vs Kangaroos
I reckon he'd be running on empty.

PREGAME: PM02 vs Kangaroos
I thought Weid's work rate on Saturday was excellent and he will only benefit from his (enforced) role he played in that game.

PREGAME: MS01 vs Adelaide
I have some mates who are Bummer supporters and they are filthy he was let go by them.

Mooney backs the Dees
I may be way off the mark, but I think Burgess and his team are managing loads cautiously. As a result, while Preuss may be longer term, I think May and Gawn will be back sooner rather than later. Given the number of senior list players that have had a relatively full pre-season training load, I think we are better placed than we have been for a considerable period. Again, I cannot know for sure, but as a playing group, I think the guys have a new and steely resolve. That gives me cause for realistic optimism.
