Was that the game when Matthews knocked out Peter Giles and received nothing for it? Disgraceful act it was too. If it is that game, we were coming hard at them and Matthew's action stopped our momentum.

I may be way off the mark, but I think Burgess and his team are managing loads cautiously. As a result, while Preuss may be longer term, I think May and Gawn will be back sooner rather than later. Given the number of senior list players that have had a relatively full pre-season training load, I think we are better placed than we have been for a considerable period. Again, I cannot know for sure, but as a playing group, I think the guys have a new and steely resolve. That gives me cause for realistic optimism.

Yes they do. The point being made is if they and other clubs put their hands out for tax payers money, it is OK for us to do the same, proving their is also a community benefit.

We should not forget that North and Western Bulldogs were also the recipients of significant tax payer funds for their ground and training facility upgrades.

The "meat" of the strategic plan will not be publicly released. It would be folly to divulge our IP in this regard. The naysayers are already out in force, mainly due to so many long years in the wilderness. We must trust in the vision and hope that the players truly are buying in. Again, I understand the doom and gloom on the injury list, but I am hoping that Burgess et al are taking a cautious health management approach and most injuries are not long term. My greatest wish for 2020 and beyond is that I can soon sit back with satisfy and smug smile, as we begin to deliver and shove it up those that love to sink the boots into the Dees.
