  1. In the context of the recent signings of Salem, Oliver, Gawn and Viney, this is huge for a club, which used to have a habit of shooting itself in the foot. This shows solidarity. The current administration is showing foresight and evidencing that the 'brotherhood', which currently and clearly exists within this group, is priceless. Of course, some naysayers will deride the length of tenure and money contained within the contract, but none of us can possibly know what the fine print says. I am rapt with this. Go you Mighty Demons.
  2. I was there in '64. That's how old I am, but like most on here, my heart has been too often broken since that time. However, from what I have seen, so far this year, this is a group willing to go into battle for each other, are brothers in arms and simply love each other. Over the course of this year, there may be performances, when we collectively say.............. WTF was that? Inevitably, we will lose games before the home and away season is finished. But despite the pain over history, my view is we start to believe, support the boys/club and let's turn out in maximum numbers...... rules permitting. Again, since '64, I have never seen a Melbourne team, which seems so inexorably welded as one.Let's hope from here, the 'injury' gods are kind to us. Go you Mighty Demons!!!!!
  3. The truth is the most cogent defence against a defamation suit. Robbo. Robbo. ROBBO. Are you awake???. Man, why are you jibbering?
  4. 2 key players out. The Weed and Browny playing a significant part in the 2's. Surely we can go on from here? I am appealing to the ghost of Norm Smith. The Red Fox. Let it go mate. We all love you, but it's time.
  5. As a Dees supporter for 54 years, should I now believe? 5 to zip. Not a pretty win, but our guys stumped up when it mattered. Should I dare to believe now?..... Well...I continue to dream. Dad, this might be our year. Love ya. #myheartbeatstrue
  6. The Max Factor. I like it. Apologies to those not old enough to remember.
  7. I thought Jones, while not accomplished, was the: Ultimate team player. A great job in my view
  8. Photo from the Age article.
  9. Given the changes at the top and Ms Roffey's background, could this.......finally..... be it? https://www.theage.com.au/national/victoria/caulfield-racecourse-unveils-570m-sports-entertainment-precinct-plan-20210413-p57iu8.html
  10. As per my previous post. I am not saying anything more.
  11. Even higher than that. I'm saying no more.
  12. Watch this space. Strong mail that there is another major change in the wind.
  13. Have I? You trotted out the PC prhase. I get the import of your message. My question was not directed at your post, rather it was directed to those that try to defend banal argument by using the term, " political correctness".
  14. Can someone define that the term "political correctness" for me please. If it means, questioning the accepted status quo, then I am certainly "politically correct". Are you listening Peggy O'Neill? The use of the term "political correctness" usually is proffered, when someone has run out of rational argument.
  15. Absolutely. Redemption for him. A great game I thought.
  16. Hawkins has priors. Did not not need to swing his arm back.
  17. Umpires no idea.
  18. I love Joeboy's analysis every week, but one thing we seem to keep forgetting. It's a team game. We dominated possession and given it is only round 2, hopefully the errors that irk us all, will gradually be ironed out. I'm pretty stoked tonight, given the occasion and what that occasion would/should have meant to St. Kilda. My 3 word analysis? You Bloody Bewdy.
  19. Wow. No-one notice Clarry's stats today?. Geez, talk about fickled.
  20. I am OK with Malthouse's observation. Perhaps the players should put this comment on their 'mirrors' and use it as motivation. There is no doubt in my mind that this group have under performed up until now.
  21. The world is depressing enough right now, without reading this bull tish.
  22. I was booked in for the AFL season launch lunch this Wednesday in the MCC dining room. Not surprisingly, this was cancelled this morning. I really enjoy these days, but clearly I don't get the chance to enjoy this year. I suspect there is more and worse to come for the AFL in the not too distant future.
  23. We self reported when Joe Gutnick was in the chair. Carlton and Essendon were recidivists and by comparison to our penalty, got off rather lightly in my view.
