  1. Hey guys I think people need to stop calling this the Gawn/Grundy Experiment, as this wasn't it. this was Grundy Forward and Gawn in the middle. Very different to originally planned. The forward line is clearly where our downfall is, seeing our talls in reserve aren't up to it could our forward line look something like: Pickett, JVR, Melksham ANB, Fritsch, Chandler I'm not sure of a better option, Grundy can't survive as a full forward. All in all not overly upset with the loss, almost pinched it. We do need to come out more switched on from the first bounce, been a few weeks it has taken as a while o pick up the pace of the game.
  2. Tough hard footy, good to have a game like that before finals. another slow start in picking up the game tempo hurt us. I'm not sure what the coaching panel are thinking but I don't think Grundy can be a Full forward. I'm not sure where we go with our forward line though, here's to hoping that T-Mac finds 2018 form.
  3. why do we refuse to soccer the ball forward and clear the area??
  4. Any chance of a free kick
  5. I'm sure you have had plenty of responses already. I think he will still be a couple of seasons away, but in saying that you never know after a proper full pre season he might get the start of a big aerobic tank. He does need to bulk up, but he is going to be a mobile up the ground forward, which will compliment JVR perfectly. The games i have watched he has had some impressive ones and others where he has gone missing, which is to be expected from a 19 year old key position player. But he has a good grab on him, he runs well, kicking isn't great but not horrible and can be worked on. I can see him and JVR being a very similar combo to Hawkins/Cameron, in terms of styles, obviously if they turn out to be like them two we will be laughing.
  6. from current day players it has to be Toby Greene or Jordan De Goey. Greene is a top 5 player in the AFL currently and easily the best in his position. De Goey would be awesome swapping with Petracca midfield and forward would be juicy.
  7. Corner Hotel is my usual go to, if you are going with mates and want a seat i would google them and book a table though.
  8. He is worse as a fwd.
  9. Thats his only role he can play though. Was fine against NM. But is different if it's a Gunston, Mihochek, Rohan or one of these quality tall/mid tall options. He has played this role before and failed, he has been good when coming on with fresh legs and run on top of his opponent. If he had Salem's footy IQ he would be absolutely amazing with his athletic abilities
  10. Not doubting any of that, but the reason he hasn't done it often is because he has shown he is AA style defender. May only has a couple more seasons in him at best and we have a top 15 draft pick in the VFL who is a key forward. Like I said he is fine for what we need now, but I don't see him staying there
  11. Smith isn't fantastic. He had 7 disposals and 2 turnovers, and he jumps at everything and leaves his man. He is very handy as sub but just lacks the concentration for full games.
  12. Out: Petty, Harmes, Smith, Hibberd In: Schache, Oliver, Thomlinson I think Schache could be a good option, but im not confident in any options really. Hibbo unlucky and Smith back to his sub role which is now more important to us with Petty out.
  13. 2019, go and have a look at his stats. Il accept your apology later!
  14. Love this idea! Won't be $$ Carlton don't rate him, he would be very handy plug until hopefully a Jafferson develops
  15. If Petty in injured. Is it worth giving Schache a go? I think he could be an ok option, and I'd prefer him as the back up ruck than a 20 year old in JVR (Schache also expendable). Unfortunately Harmes is no longer an AFL level footballer, but Clarry coming back solves that.
  16. Our problem is non of our other options do really
  17. And Ben Brown does? I love BB but the game has passed him. Once T-Mac is running a lnd fit maybe. But Grundy can't play that role unfortunately
  18. I woukd actually prefer Schacke, more mobility and a good back up ruck option
  19. Bruise free football, everyone just thinking someone else will do it. Poor insipid effort
  20. No effort or pressure
  21. Again another that has replied without looking at the comment I was responding too!
  22. I think you need to look at what I replied to to get context rather than go on your rant before hand.
  23. 6 goals from 10 games isn't great. Which is my point. Hope he proves me wrong. I also don't think this is his future either, but it's what we need atm
  24. I wouldn't say we have found our FF but it's a start. The pros are that Petty has trained with the fwd line at times through pre season and during the year. He is a strong contest player and good grab. Balta is a very good and strong defender and Petty killed him. The cons are that we have seen it once for a full game, his other good performances up forward were in minimum time or against very average opposition. Nest option right now and I hope it works, but have to have a plan B too
  25. They are saying he will be around the 60s probably our last pick like Woey
