  1. Im not confused at all he player the last 6 games of 2022 in the middle. Including finals and was very good in there. Look up the heat maps and CBAs. 13, 19, 17, 22, and 16. Thats most definitely a midfielder
  2. Gus was outstanding in the middle in our last 4 games before finals. And was actually pretty good in the finals also. He is a very handy 4th midfielder in the rotation, agree Kossie is a big loss and a massive point of difference especially with changing angles.
  3. Out: Tommo, Harmes and Gawn In: May, JJ and JVR We have to be very careful about JVR and T-Macs work load in the ruck though. I actually think Schache is better suited for that role but unavailable. Tommo is unlucky but May is a lock. Hibbard has had a good game in the VFL but the backline has been ok, I wouldn't be against Brayshaw going back into the middle and Hibbo getting his flank/pocket. Harmes just hasn't got the runs on the board atm and I think rd 1 if Salem, May, Viney and Fritch were fit he probs wasn't in the B22.
  4. Virgin are a disgrace these days, always delayed, bump prices up for events or school holidays. Hope the rest of your weekend is enjoyable
  5. That's coming from Mitch, he would get that feeling from most players. And he would be right, most are better than him!
  6. Big time, 12 clearances in the GF. A hand in every crucial goal in the game almost
  7. I think this was the original set up before Salem'sinjury. Wouldn't be surprised if Harmes ends up Sub and Brayshaw back into the midfield rotations
  8. If only it were that easy. Giving Salem a half in the VFL coukd be worth it, and May another week. But the training staff will know how they are travelling. I think McVee is very important to our defensive set up. Allowing our other HB to become play makers. Maybe Harmes makes way. If it's 4 changes
  9. God it was so good to [censored] the winging Beverage and those arrogant Dogs. And how refreshing is it to have 4 normally best 22 players too come in and have no idea who makes way for them. Glad I'm not part of the coaching staff, might be a year where players have to show it in the VFL before getting straight back into the side!
  10. Pretty sure even in that match report some of those goals were kicked on May and Petty. Thommo is the next best for the 1v1 type backman. I really like Turner but that's not his game as much.
  11. He also has had an awesome pre-season and in the past has done jobs on Hawkins, McKay and the like. Quick to rule him out over 1 game that didn't mean anything.
  12. May out, means Tommo or Disco in. Not gonna restructure completely in round 1. I think it will be Tommo with the experience against a very tall fwd line. Expect Max to play alot behind the ball to help out this week. If it was a smaller, less experienced fwd line I recon disco would be the guy. Let's be happy these injuries are at this time of the year and not 2/3rds of the way through
  13. Can't rem exactly who, I think it may have been Richo. So it actually did come from inside Melbourne
  14. He has a GF and his housemate has been offered a contract with Casey. He needs to just be happy being him. Putting pretty things around him won't help. Just gotta help him with life, can't force it.
  15. Cornes is hanging onto a comment made last year during trade period. "In love with Melb, but not the city." That was almost 6 months ago now, im sure that the Dees and even Kossie himself are doing everything to make sure he is happy and enjoying himself. If he hasn't signed by mid season we'll then get worried. This time we have to be serious about bringing the crows into discussions, ports Draft hand is not going to get it done! Let's hope it doesn't get to that!
  16. Yup he could be very special! reminds me a lot of Petracca when he played as a fwd for the first couple of seasons of his career. Phillipou could become a powerful mid in the future too
  17. Not sure what game people are watching that say we were horrible up forward, 16.9. not only did we kick straight we kicked 100 points without our leading goal kicker for the past 2 seasons. Grundy was fine and if you watch the game closely his presence opens up a lot of other opportunities in our fwd line which is why he floats around the 50m arc and pushing up creating space behind him. with those extra tall targets the likes of ANB, Sparrow, Kossie and Chandler look so much more dangerous with more crumbing opportunities. BBB was good up fwd and T-Mac working hard around the ground and taking fwd 50 ruck which allows both Gawn and Grundy to set up a kick behind play means we will see a lot of opposition turnover leaving our D50 either from kicking to those two or skill errors trying to avoid them. All in all its as much as we could ask for in our first hit out against AFL opposition
  18. he can't play back pocket, unless its on that hybrid type like Gunston. We have the talls on the ground to cover if an injury occurred, i can see us using another one as a sub.
  19. That's in an ideal world. Can't play the sub that way though. Gotta have a versatile player as sub. And with Gawn and Grundy as well as our tall fwds the sub will be a pace option. Personally I think it will be Jordon or Harmes
  20. Agree, I think too many are basing their thoughts of the website alone. The socials: Facebook, Instagram, Snap Chat, Twitter and Tic Tok have regular content on it. And weather people like it or not, this is the future (and very much current) way of posting information. Fact is we are looking to be top 4, and they will only show what they want to show. Whilst I would love to see internal trial footage, I'm happy for them to hold the cards close to their chest at this point of pre-season.
  21. Just an observation i have made from training's. It looks like they have been rotating player for "rests" through the off season. Seams every training there is 2-3 players either on weights or not attending. then they are in full training the next day of training. This is outside of the rehab players although they do sometimes join that group too. Wondering if anyone else has noticed this, could be a good way to not burn them out in pre-season. I like the idea, but if it works it remains to be seen
  22. Hope he keeps Kossie happy in Melbs and helps him sign the contract 😉
  23. So you want to invite a guy that couldn't get a gig over a country footballer?
  24. Whatever gets Kossie closer to signing on the dotted line!
  25. Make sure you call ahead
