Now THAT is good news!!

Max Flags New Young Leadership Group
I'm with you on this. I think it would assist his game, and bring a different perspective to leadership. I think he is generally underrated with regard to his strength of character.

Time to go Goody?
Well, CF, that is just the miserly, ungenerous response I would expect. "The allegations were false and had no basis in fact". What rises could possibly be said?

2024 Player Reviews: #2 Jacob van Rooyen
I think he's great. He actually reminds me of Dermie - and whatever else Dermie is, he was a tremendous player. And I like him going into the ruck. It gets/keeps him involved, he holds his own doing it, and my feeling is that he enjoys it too. He is a player that seems to love the physical contest.

Jack Martin
So now Geelong have Martin, Stengle, Close and Miers. It looks like a new, post-Hawkins game plan to me.

Results of Club Reviews
A classic summary of modern coaching philosophy - as you say, yell at them more. That'll do the trick.

Nathan Jones joins MFC as an Assistant Coach
I suggested about two years ago that she should be on our men's coaching staff - and I still have that view

Gary Pert Quits as MFC CEO
Well, this is a really c..p post. KDF made a fair point and made it fairly. Pert has obviously had good points and bad points. There is no doubt that there has been a lot of criticism of him on this site - usually vituperative and largely unjustified - and KDF was making the fair point that it won't be easy to replace him. No doubt the posters who were banging on about the need for the reviews to be independent etc will completely fail to recognise that the review, as conducted and as authorised by the existing board, has clearly been perfectly independent and prepared to make hard suggestions/decisions - in other words, that the board as presently constituted has done a good job with the reviews.

So why should we listen to you? The definition of a fair-weather supporter!

Time to go Goody?
Sure. Were Brisbane missing Neale or Andrews? Were Sydney missing Heeney or Warner? Were GWS missing Greene or Hogan? Were Port missing Butters or Rozee? We were missing Trac, Clarry was playing through a ridiculous amount of injuries but because he's Clarry he still deserved his spot, as well as it being very good for his mental health (and as a concerned club with a concerned coach and a difficult situation, that was excellent work by the club); Gawn had a stress fracture but still deserved his spot.

Time to go Goody?
Injuries: in 2023, at the end of the season, our forward line was completely destroyed by injury. In 2024, we had our three best players, all multiple AA players, either out or totally affected because of injury. Injuries kill teams. If you can't see that, you're not looking.

Time to go Goody?
I am completely with Little Goffy on this. So tired of the ridiculous criticising c..p that is dominating this site. Goodie hagiographers: well, he has a flag, multiple top four finishes and a record to match basically anyone's. The real criticism is that he hasn't made enough of it outstanding list - which completely ignores the fact that a few other clubs have had pretty outstanding lists too, and that he has had some pretty terrible luck with critical injuries at critical times. But some people just love to bag anyone and everything - the coach, the board, certain players (think of how much ANB and TMac have copped, among many others!) -yep, if there is a chance to criticise, along come CF, HTD, the almost aptly-named Kent....

Time to go Goody?
I said: in the first half of the season. For you to get off his back. And if have to say, if I were him and I won the flag, you would be the last person I'd want to have a drink with after all the "support" you have shown him.

Time to go Goody?
That's great, PF. Now perhaps you'll tell us what he needs to achieve in the first half of the season for you to back off!

Pending Announcement
In all seriousness, it would be nice to see Hibbo back.

Clayton Oliver
And a very good one

Clayton Oliver
I read your initial comment and quoted it correctly. Later you changed to say that it was only dad that was disgruntled- no doubt because you had been successfully called out on the misinformation re his mum.
-
Clayton Oliver
That's not what you said earlier in this thread - you said the Oliver family/camp (not just dad) were incredibly disgruntled. Big change!
-
Clayton Oliver
And I have heard exactly the same thing. I said earlier in a post: don't believe a fraction of what you read, including the whole premise of this thread.
-
Clayton Oliver
You know, it beggars belief as you say. I'll tell you what: don't believe one tenth of what you read in the media including on here, starting with the whole premise of this thread.

Dan Houston
Collingwood can have him. I never wanted another HBF - that is one position we have covered. As for Trac: he may have had issues with the club. So? They may be justified, they may not. He might be a top bloke, he might not. I will never see him in the same light again: he apparently was prepared to go to Collingwood - to stand in the circle and sing their song with his arms over the shoulders of Brayden Maynard. I am NOT impressed with that. Any team mate of Gus's who would contemplate that loses me. And as for culture: it is noticeable that BBB stayed at Melbourne and still does. He has the score on the board as a person who speaks up when things are wrong.
