I’d imagine TMac will retire but he may stay. I don’t yet see Jefferson as seriously ready to play one’s but we played Brown so I guess there’s no harm in him playing this week. I’m a Petty back person but I was also a Neitz back person. ( take a look at tapes of his battles with Carey to see why) As others have said Petty hasn’t been nearly as bad as many seem to think and if you think swapping him for an untried kid is the answer you’d be wrong. The fact is we need a preseason delivered by the footballing Gods. So much has to go right and for mine the biggest 2 are starting round 1 with Petracca and Oliver fully fit and fully focused. We can have all the game plan changes we like but it’ll count for little if these 2 aren’t in serious nick. You can’t cover your best 2 players at the pointy end of the season.

Just beat Collingwood….thats all I want. It’ll be a good boost prior to one of the most important preseasons this club has faced in awhile. Fitness, clean hands, stick your tackles, break your tackles… just to start them off

Agreed but he's untradeable atm. I'd say the club are going to back him in to ignore the media, have a great preseason and return in 2025 in full Oliver Mode.

3 of those 4 are very close to the end and the other is a tad lost without one of them. We're going to need a good run with injuries next year. I don't have TMac in my best side next year. I'm not going to rely on Salem but will certainly play him when he's fit and hopefully that's a 16 game stretch at the right time. We're going to patch up May and get him lean and strong and fit over summer and cross our fingers he plays the year out. I also think Petty needs to go back but have a feeling we'll persist with him forward.

It should be pretty obvious after the events of the last 2 years that having 2 ruckman is never going to work. We need a Jackson clone, not another pure ruckman. As for Kentfield, he has size on his side.

I think McVee is a HBF and calls for him to move to the midfield miss his value.

I’ve seen the reaction to my suggestion. He may well be but there’s no denying he’s an assistant to 4 flags.

The team and coaches needs some fresh eyes and legs going into the preseason. This feels like an incredibly important 6 months if we're going to rise again next year and beyond. Get the draft wrong, have players not fit and fully bought in and a plan we can't execute seamlessly and we'll likely stay out of contention. Get it right and I'm a believer that we can push hard again for the foreseeable future.

This isn't ridiculous. If it gave us a top 10 pick but they're unlikely to part with pick 2 for Lever. Although I'd prefer Turner up forward. It's moot, it'll never happen.
