Realistic 23 for 2026
Ideally, we want everyone getting 20, rather than one 40 and a heap of 10-12’s. If King lets the boys play a bit more freely, everyone will be more involved (negatively and positively)

Bailey Humphrey
I’m with you here. Why doesn’t Tim Lamb give Craig Cameron some whiplash with an offer they can’t refuse? Humphrey is young enough and good enough to offer 10+ years of A-Grade footy. He plays exactly the role we have been screaming out for and he’s had plenty of development already. I’d even throw in another pick on top just because he can kick drop punts, unlike the bloke he would replace.

The dynamics at GC this year will be very interesting. Is there room for Humphrey and Trac in the same side? Will the mercenaries help or hinder what GC have been building? Jamarra has the potential to blow the place up. Most importantly, have we done enough to be attractive to Humphrey next year or will Hawks, Collingwood etc trump us?

This is the stuff we want to hear. Tomorrow will be an entertaining ride

If there is any chance of this happening, you can bet it will be held until 5 mins before cutoff for maximum theatre.

Farewell Christian Petracca
Movement at the station, either way, which is great news!

Farewell Christian Petracca
It’s looking like the game Petracca played was indeed the winning one, even if it took a little longer than he hoped. I said this during the season, he wanted change at the club and it could not have come more emphatically than it has. Now, after nuking the place, he still leaves. Says a fair bit about the character of the guy and his advisers.

I started out pretty heavily invested in Bailey but my head has definitely been turned by the GIF’s

I agree, get Lamby and the team to have a BBQ of their own and cook up some deals today to shift all our picks out. Or let him just say, our head hasn’t been turned at this stage, there’s still time but it needs to be a significant improvement on what’s been suggested so far

Farewell Christian Petracca
I’m in the ‘good riddance’ camp but it’s definitely not a great deal for two best 23 players, one being as decorated as he is.

Leek Aleer
NAS, Windhager and Wilkie all with big contract bumps, which would likely be the entire Aleer allocation. They have paid enormous money to make sideways moves, I’m sure are going to crash spectacularly

I’d pivot for Jed Walter

Assistant Coaches in 2026
If May comes back to the club, I reckon Scarlett will sort him out very quickly. That will be entertaining, to say the least

Farewell Clayton Oliver
I really hope he rediscovers his love for the game and some weight is lifted off his shoulders. I said it the other day and I’ll say it again, at his best, he was the best player in the comp in my eyes. I am really glad it’s GWS and not Collingwood. If he really digs in and rights the ship, which I genuinely hope he does, I’d much rather GWS improve than Collingwood. Finally, let’s just get it sorted so the club can move on after a tumultuous few years.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Enlighten us…

Nick Daicos
Regardless of the fact Nick’s not moving, this little Daicos dummy spit is highly amusing and speaks to the way the family are thinking. It’s inching towards a bigger blow up and I am here for it

I don’t think we are necessarily better in terms of ladder position but it should enable Stephen King’s transformation to run a lot more smoothly. It’s a big win if it happens and Roger’s would be an incredible cherry on top

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
I think King has genuinely put the club first with what he is doing, can’t argue with that. He’s got a clear direction and he’s following it - I am optimistic we might see a few more happier players next year

AFL Trade Radio 2025
This quote from Charlie sums up the Goodwin era for me, it was a success on the whole but very robotic; • "I feel like at Melbourne I played the small forward role and it gave me good building blocks but it was a rigid role, without freedom. I spoke to North about playing a role with a bit more freedom. I play my best when playing on instinct." - Charlie Spargo If King can let the boys play on natural instinct a little more, we will be infinitely better to watch - sure, we might get a few heavy touch ups but we lose a lot anyway

Melbourne Storm
I don’t follow the NRL but my inlaws and boss are big Storm fans. I tuned in out of interest and it’s a bloody wild spectacle. My favourite parts of the NRL based on one game; 1. the umpires are allowed to do their thing and can adjudicate without a million players in their face every single play. The sin bin They are very authentic, no trying to be blue-blooded scholars

Fair, I just meant they were following a fairly steady trend of improvement.

GC loading up on Trac and potentially JUH is a little desperate in my mind. They have been building naturally, albeit slowly, this is an entirely different beast

Will be very hard on clubs now. TDK will become the benchmark now, I’d say Humphrey would have a better chance of influencing games than he does
-
Bailey Humphrey
There’s no chance Bailey meets with multiple clubs if GC are dead against trading him. These meetings would have been planned prior to the Petracca nomination of GC

Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
Like this, can provide some experience and a bigger body to help JVR. If JVR can kick 35+ and Brody the same, we’ll all be doing cartwheels
