I know we need something different but if this is how it plays out, I would be very underwhelmed
-
Highlights seem to suggest there might be a handy contributor in there. Has the signature attacking mindset of the Brisbane side.
-
If anyone needs further convincing that the AFL is an entertainment business, this trade period garbage is it. A bunch of deals for ageing or fringe players and they are acting like this will change the world
-
Wait until you see the guys who can do it for 2 hours, that will knock your socks off.
-
The 300 that attend the B&F are certainly in the minority of supporters
-
Interesting to see where this leaves us with other assistants? Jones coming in to help in a leadership role seems a bit odd, given he handed the leadership over to Gawn/Viney.
-
Whilst not guaranteed, there’s a fair chance the bloke running 5min30snin the 2k is also pretty decent at recovering after shorter, repeated efforts. He could just run through rest periods
-
5 & 9 almost guarantees at least one will be ready to go for 2025, that’s an enormous confidence boost that we might see a changing of the guard. If both are ready for round 1, we could be a transformed side within a 6 month period - big caveat being Goody and his beloved gameplan
-
5 & 9 would certainly get the blood pumping. DO SOMETHING!
-
I hope pick 6 is in the Round 1 team, we sure need it
-
When we played our best football, our Casey side was just as strong as our AFL one. Tom Campbell shouldn’t make our AFL side better but having the best VFL ruck on our list certainly helps our Casey squad and fringe mids. The strength of the entire squad is just as important as the AFL

Given all the instability around the club, Kozzie is naturally the one who would be the most unsettled. Very young family and a long way from home (whether that’s WA or Adelaide or Darwin). Ever since the Trac stuff started, I was concerned about Koz
-
Would love to hear how Goody really feels about this, it basically stamps his papers for the end of 2025. We won’t be able to rise from this mess due to fatigue and also lack of available talent. They clearly had planned to top up and go again, We might be left with no choice but to go nuclear
-
Our midfield was already paper thin for 2025, now it’s going to be absolutely cooked. We’ll all watch Trac sit out the year and request a trade for 2026
-
From a football club perspective, Oliver was playing up and being bratty, however he was only doing what 80% of 26-27 year olds do every weekend. Sounds like he was led down the garden path by others or at least not alone. What Trac did was a very different kettle of fish, he deliberately sabotaged a very large operation to suit himself. And I still think he’ll walk for 2026 anyway
-
How ironic that Petracca will end up as the cause of a year of missed trades. Houston and Switta could have helped his cause a significantly more than Tom Campbell and Wade Derksen - I wouldn’t have wanted pick 5 used but I’m sure there was other ways
-
Sure we do, although at the moment, I think Jimmy would offer a strong and different point of view to the leadership clique we currently have.
-
Lacking some punctuation, sorry God! I’ve heard mixed things about him as a person, but purely from a football sense, I would strongly advocate for him.
-
Would love to see this version of Clarry in 2025, he’s in good nick there
-
I’d be a pretty strong advocate for him, have heard some mixed things about him as a person but he’s obviously been involved at a high level in multiple clubs. Think a role at Melbourne would suit him better than Collingwood, we are probably a little more in need
-
Wonder what he’s worth? He got roasted in the media, post GF, for his effort. Wonder if pick 5 and Clarry pick(s) from Geelong would move the needle?
-
If Oliver has straightened up throughout the year, as suggested, every club would be asking the question. He had a down year by his own standards but he’d still be comfortably in the best 50 players in the comp if properly fit. I’d prefer to keep Clarry over Trac, think the hurdles Clayton has to overcome are significantly less than Petracca, his brand and his family.

Andrew McQualter - Appointed coach of the West Coast Eagles
BW511 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Despite the long road back to competitive football, watching Harley Reid up close, each week, will be fun -
Another list spot is positive but he’s also done well to get to 199 games, that doesn’t happen by chance. I’ll take a PM outlining the famous offseason of 23/24 that I keep hearing about?

SEN saying we are getting Nathan Bassett, so there’s movement in our coaching ranks for sure
