  1. Exactly. I barrack for Melbourne Football Club, the mighty Demons. Players come and go, Coaches come and go, Presidents come and go. When they give their all and do well I appreciate their efforts but the reality is they are employees of the club, but not club itself. My loyalty is to the club over individuals. I recall Ron Barassi saying his loyalty was to the club he was playing / coaching at that time. When Ron left in 65 there was great disappointment. Over time Demon supporters came to love Ron all over again as well as also view our Team’s success 54 to 64 with great pride. That legacy was not harmed because of Barassi leaving. Not getting any compensation for Ron was all together another matter.
  2. I’m curious as to how long Flag credits last?
  3. On the presumption of given in good faith, I thank you.
  4. I have no interest in anything you say. However by all means go ahead and continue to embarrass yourself to others with similar posts as above.
  5. “Can be fixed”? How many years has Fritsch been at the club? Why hasn’t it been fixed by now?
  6. Interesting that you called people “dills” for criticising Fritsch but then go on to say “just need to work harder”. Isn’t that exactly what those people you call “dills” have been saying?
  7. OK, maybe we can all rest on our laurels of the 2021 Premiership. Seriously, at what stage do you judge Fritsch on current form ( not just goals kicked but overall effort ) and not what happened 3 years ago? Sheez (your words)
  8. It’s not about him “never going to be a hard man” , it’s about him regularly being a serious defensive liability ie. lack lustre chase, feeble tackles. This also sets a horrible example to his teammates and surely can’t be good for team morale.
  9. I’d do it but I seriously doubt Port would.
  10. Hassa, what a star, my hero, No 29. Was there when he kicked 7 , Queen’s Birthday 1967 MCG, was selected in the CENTRE lined up against Bobby Skilton. I don’t know if he actually played in the centre that day, may have been HFF, but they generally lined up as selected back in the day. If so, must be the only time a centreman has kicked 7 in a match.
  11. Pity, would have been something to behold, standing amongst Don supporters during that last qtr. Ricky Jackson was a star and very important to the success of that side. Rather under appreciated IMO. Seemed to often turn a game with his burst of magic. Then he just seemed to fade away and was gone and I never knew why. Maybe someone might know what happened to him. Enjoy tonight.
  12. I agree the margin was generally around 4 goals and Essendon definitely looked to have our measure, thought the margin got to over six goals at one stage but it was a long time ago. I have the last qtr replay on VHS ( always wanted to digitise my library but tech is not my thing) Will dust off the Video player soon and give it a watch. Jackson’s goal was from the outer pocket I seem to remember, can’t recall if it was a banana or drop punt? Also not far from where I was. Nb. IMO A Ricky Jackson clone, fast, great crumber, goal sense, x factor would be a much needed addition to our 22. Yes, Pickett has all those attributes however as a duo our forward line would be extremely potent.
  13. Ditto, standing in the outer, one of favourite MFC matches, came from about 40 points down if I recall, Essendon had our measure until late 3rd qtr when Rhode went on to Michael Long who was destroying us. Rhode then completely shut down Long, last qtr momentum was like a tidal wave, Bennent and Ricky Jackson🔥. A magnificent day I’ll never forget. If only we could have kept Bennett and Jakovich together for longer???
  14. Butters and Houston for Pickett, ANB and Sparrow ?
  15. So you’re saying, Beau McCreey, Pick 32 AND a LATE 3rd rounder for our best player who is contracted for another 5 years ? Please clarify, is this Satire?
  16. Weedle and NEWCOMBE plus their first rounder, yes please. But only if Petracca is adamant on leaving.
  17. Today’s Umpires —> Dead rubber game = Dead rubber Umpires
  18. Turner’s best asset as a forward will be/is his mobility.
  19. Necessity is the Mother or invention —-> innovation. Mr Goodwin has never been a great innovator. He surely now he will be forced down that path.
  20. If so, doesn’t that just emphasise how weak our list depth is? And why are we playing injured players?
  21. Brilliant. There are some on here that will criticise others for being too negative, being a “fair weather” supporter or even just expressing their opinion. Often it comes with an undertone suggesting “you’re not as loyal or as passionate as me”. As you have implied, anybody who regularly expresses their thoughts/ opinions , even if they are critical, must surely be passionate Demon supporters. Otherwise why would anybody waste their time?
  22. OK, but wouldn’t North Melbourne have more supporters likely to attend than GWS?
  23. - No doubt a disappointing crowd. - I don’t think it’s been mentioned but we did play GWS who would have had very few supporters who attended. What do you think the 16,000 would equate to if it was a melbourne based club ? - Your “bet” of 1 to 10 is just a wild guess, you have no way of knowing. - What’s your point about Goodwin being at the match but not more supporters ? - “Players drag themselves to the game”, wow I’m completely lost for words on that one, wild. ( Is that like the vast majority of wage earners who drag themselves off to work every day? ) -You have no idea why I or anybody else didn’t attend last night. Therefore your insinuation comparing attendance with loyalty is completely baseless. - I suggest the focus for last night’s disappointing crowd be put back on to the AFL and the MFC instead of blaming individual supporters.
  24. I would love to see Sestan given the chance to prove himself at senior level.
  25. I think your logic is sadly askew. Didn’t GWS win the game with even less supporters present ? And you know what you can do with your whimpy vomit emoji !
