Welcome to Demonland Bailey Laurie
The highlights look very impressive. Evasiveness, hitting targets, tackling. with a couple of check side goals for good measure. If he can develop and reproduce these skills at AFL level then we have a real player on our hands. Melksham has competition, finally.

2020 AFL Draft
Or maybe it was all a ruse DS and we really wanted Fraser Rosman all along ?

2020 AFL Draft
No worries. Chocco will work his magic.

Farewell Josh Mahoney
Why do you say its going to be a super draft Poita? I think its going to be a bigger lottery than this year. Plus we can always trade back into next years first round just like we did this year.

Mark Williams New Head of Development
Music to my ears. None of this try to make the 8 and win a final mediocrity. Top 4 and a crack at the flag has to be the aim.

Mark Williams New Head of Development
Christian is fine. I'd prefer he focused on helping the likes of Gus and Oliver emulate Petracca.

Mark Williams New Head of Development
Both great appointments but Williams has more runs on the board. If i had to choose between the 2 i'd choose Chocco.

Farewell Josh Mahoney
3 years was not enough time to finish what he started. He should have stayed for 5. And he lumbered us with Goodwin.

Farewell Josh Mahoney
I’m sorry to see him go. Met him a few times at events and he always gave the time of day and was forthright with his answers. I was sat beside him at a lunch once and asked him why he stayed at the Dees given we were such a basket case (about 5 years ago if i think). He gave a wry smile and said the job satisfaction would be greatest helping a struggling club improve. I always liked him after that. That said 13 years is a good run and maybe a change is for the best. I wish him well at the bombers. I think he’ll need it.

Maybe thats why they're bringing him across?

2020 Phantom Drafts & Rankings
I reckon the go home factor is overstated DZ. How many players drafted from WA actually end up going home? There’s only the 2 teams over there. And Freo isn’t exactly a destination club. When Kelly had the option of Freo in 2019 he turned them down so the home sickness can’t have been that bad. Hogan of course went back but has left again. McCarthy went back and that was a disaster. Bennell didn’t work out. Rory Lobb is a good pick-up for Freo but GWS didn’t try too hard to keep him. So you really only need to worry about West Coast and they still have to trade if they want a player. I don’t think go home factor should not be a consideration when selecting a player. If the team is successful the WA players will stay put.

Josh Mahoney - The Secret Unlocked!
I thought he was going to play a pivotal role in the working group tasked with getting the home base project off the ground. Or was that just BS. And I didn't know Richardson "replaced" him. I would have preferred Richardson get the a**e. I like the pick trading Mahoney has been doing and wouldn't be surprised if he pulls another rabbit out of the hat tomorrow.

Punt Road redevelopment
My recollection of the interview Bartlett did back in July is that he was bullish on the home base. Plans to be announced imminently (my impression 6-12 months). He didn’t give himself much wriggle room should the plans hit a snag, put his neck on the line well and truly. No announcement within the next 12 months and he’ll have to resign.

TRAINING: Monday 7th December 2020
Good point. I don't know if restrictions are in place.

Casey redevelopment
I don’t know what "AFL standard" is in terms of facilities but as one who has seen the inside of a few gyms you just need to make sure the basics are covered, the rest is just for show. The basics of strength and conditioning hasn’t changed all that much since Arnie was winning Mr Universe comps. As long as you have the kit to perform deadies, squats, benching, rows, presses you’re covered. Hopefully the roof doesn’t leak, the plumbing works and they’re hasn’t been any shoddy workmanship such that a shelf or a weight falls on a player. From the brief clip the gym seemed fully kitted out and there’s ample room. (Maybe a sky-light to illuminate the space a bit. Seems quite dark).

Casey redevelopment
Hope you're ok L36. Looks like your prophesy was right up to round 6 last year but we turned the corner and are in good shape going into 2021. The list is Top 4 imo, we have Yze back on board, BB to slot the goals, the finances are stable and hopefully plans for our new base will be announced soon. A lot to look forward to i reckon.

Sparrow Raring to Go
Our much vaunted midfield unit have flattered to deceive for long enough. If the dysfunction continues then I’m all for giving one of them a spell and letting Sparrow have a crack. Just seen that snippet of interview he did yesterday and he comes across as intelligent and well-spoken which suggests he’s coachable like you say. I reckon he’s a team first player as well. I haven’t seen enough of him but is he disciplined and defensive minded to run both ways? Take his defensive duties seriously? If he is then straight away it’s a point of difference to most of our current midfield brigade.

Luke Jackson's Offseason Transformation
Yep. Just need a couple of tenacious small forward types to compliment our tall brigade.

TRAINING: Monday 7th December 2020
Does anyone know what the training schedule is over the next few weeks? I might head out to see a session and see how everyone is moving and what kind of shape they’re in particularly TMac.

Simon's pass mark for 2021?...
I think this group is good enough to make finals in spite of Goodwin. That being the case making finals is not a pass. Top 4 and a clear demonstration we can mix it with the best teams. No honorable defeats or close calls. We have to beat the likes of Geelong and West Coast this year.

King: Move Salem Up the Ground
Could say the same thing about TMac.

2020 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Draft permutations and possibilities are not my forte whereas you seem to have a pretty good aptitude for it. Can you conceive of any scenarios where we could trade with the pies for their first round pick? The pies are a good chance to go backwards next year so there’s a reasonable chance it will be a high pick. Morale will be low post trade period, De Goey court case and the Lumumba investigation could really derail their season. Plus the pies seem to have an inflated sense of where they are at so may well under-value it when negotiating. And apart from the inherent value of the pick I think it would be great fun death riding that pick during season 2021.

Robert Flower - 20 Great Goals (can never get enough of our Robbie)
What kind of player development coaching did Robbie Flower receive as opposed to Cale Morton? Perhaps poor development was a factor with Morton but the club weren't much chop when Robbie was playing either and it didn't stop him from becoming a fabulous player.
