Spud would have been proud of that ear warmer.

CHANGES: Rd 04 vs Geelong
The wide open spaces of the G is no place to be giving Hibbo and Melks their first run-out for the year. And especially against Geelong. They need some proper practice games before i'd consider them. Unless someone is carrying a knock no changes for mine.

POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs GWS
Nah. I've been critical of TMac last season but no way he makes way for Majak. He has runs on the board from the first 2 rounds. He didn't play well yesterday but he was crowded out of it. Let's see how he goes against the Cats. Another poor showing and the Weid is waiting in the wings or BB if fit in time.

POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs GWS
If Weid is fit before BB reckon he'll replace TMac. If he takes his chance then what do you do when BB is fit? He has to play you'd reckon. Jackson's rotation with MAx is too important system wise so he can't be dropped. It might have to be Fritsch who makes way? All dependent on form. 2 spots between Weid, TMac and Fritsch.

Round 1 Crowd
We are 3-0 so you would expect the fair-weather supporters to start to surface. The capacity is 75,000 but I doubt we will see that. 50,000 maybe. 25,000 Dees and same for Geelong?? I wonder how the memberships are tracking.

Frost to Langdon is a brilliant piece of list management. Well done recruitment team.

Salem is a very important player for us. A very reliable kick. I hope he re-signs again soon. Kelly has been in the doldrums but when playing at his best is A-Grade. I've no qualms about the trade and perfectly happy with Salem but i reckon Kelly is the better player.

Funny reading back though the thread about Frost. I loved his big heart but his defending was a liability. Our defensive unit is so much better without him. I wonder how he'll go today against Geelong. Did we turn the second rounder we got for him into Rivers? Huge win if we did.

North are a cautionary tale for any club that refuse to face reality. Hawthorn not in as bad a position but as you point out, some of their recent trading has been woeful.

Welcome to Demonland: Trent Rivers
Nothing wrong with his game last night other than the weak effort to tackle the giants player in the back-pocket which led to a goal for them. He'll nail that tackle in future. We're fortunate to have the perfect environment for him to develop and grow. He has May, Lever and Tomlinson as the senior defenders who'll mop up or cover for a mistake. Hibberd has his work cut out trying to win his spot back from him.

I think itโs a mixture of MFCSS, confirmation bias and self-serving bias.

BB and Weid to come back in so set shot conversion should improve. Delighted with 3-0 as well. Can't wait to take on the cats.

Elocution lessons?? Her diction is fine. You've spent too long in France mate. The French snobbishness is rubbing off on you.

POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs GWS
I kinda see where youโre coming from but this is a very harsh assessment BC. I donโt think our effort or application was at fault at all We have not shown a ruthless streak yet but weโve definitely taken some important steps to being more consistent and reliable. GWS challenged hard early. We responded which we havenโt done in previous seasons Weโre on a journey. Itโll be one step at a time and hopefully this team will eventually become a champion team like Richmond or Hawthorn. Thatโs where we should aim for but its too soon to expect complete performances just yet Keep the strong opinions coming BC. Just think youโre off the mark with this one.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KYSAIAH KROPINYERI PICKETT
Part Cyril, part Michael Long, part Aaron Davey (I think Dermie compared him to all 3 last night). Steven May has competition as my favourite player.

POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs GWS
Just watched the full replay. Iโm absolutely stoked with that display. Not a complete performance by any means but without doubt we again displayed a level of maturity which has been lacking the last few seasons. GWS asked the question and we answered it. Thatโs a game weโre coughed up previously. I hope they get their players back because if they continue to play like that they will beat teams we are competing with for Top 4. Toby Greene will cause problems for any team. Great player. Best games of the year for LJ, Hunt, ANB and Fritsch. We are getting contributions across the board. I think we all need to remember that you do not get to play games of AFL on your terms all the time. Talk of percentage boosts before the game were ridiculous. People disappointed weโre not winning by 50-60 points. Youโre getting ahead of yourselves. Big test next week against the Cats. They are so street smart and know how to win by fair means or fowl. I think they will play like GWS last night so we really need to work on creating separation this week. TMac was crowded out every time (Iโd persevere with him by the way, he has credits in the bank from his first 2 games). I think itโs a 50/50 game. Win it and i'll really start to believe.

I think he just out manoeuvred him, read the flight better. Got to the drop zone and managed to hold position.

Because he's a great footballer. If he was playing for any other team he'd be lauded as one of the best in the comp. Super player.

Not sure I want to get into a back and forth with you on Gus. He played his part in a very good win. Other players contributed less imv. If someone gets squeezed out and it happens to be Gus I wonโt be organising any protest marches.

We won a game that in recent seasons we would have lost. I'd call that improvement.

Jeez Nev, you give Gus a hard time. I thought he did his bit tonight. Manned his wing, tough in the contest and took his goal well. One of our better players.
