  1. Regarding Jones, I couldn't care less if he beats Neita's record. If he earns his games on merit then good luck to him but i won't be down with the "we have to get Jonesy to 307 games" narrative. And besides, Neita is a class act and a more than worthy record games holder for the club.
  2. Melks played in the middle towards the back end of last year so its possible but he was pretty ineffective. Can't see any value or upside in the move tbh
  3. Hopefully not a serious flare-up and Viney's withdrawal is just precautionery Can;t see Baker playing anywhere other than wing so reckon Gus plays inside
  4. enjoy the beers and the game folks
  5. True to a degree. Beating up a cellar dweller will tell us nothing about how we will go in September. That said, we still need to execute on skills, game plan etc. If our approach and mindset are right we should beat North with plenty to spare. If we let them drag us down to their level I’ll be disappointed. No disrespect to North they may well make it difficult, and I hope they do, but anything less than a 50 point win means we have not played to our potential. Ruthlessness and maturity means we put this team to the sword. Thats what the great Hawthorn and Geelong teams did. We should be looking to do the same
  6. Wish him nothing but the best. Was disappointed to see him go and would have welcomed him back but on reflection the club made the right call. If he can settle and start enjoying his footy he can be a real weapon for the Giants. Him and Greene operating in the same forward line will give opposition defences' plenty to think about.
  7. We have a pretty checkered history of our own when it comes to recruitment so not sure we can point the finger. They appear to have sorted out their recruiting now and have a fantastic crop of young talent at the moment in Brayshaw, Cerra, Serong etc. who will form the basis of a Top 4 side.
  8. The cats got a dud call last night, which will get all the focus and attention, but they have no one to blame but themselves for lsing that game. They kept the swans in the game through their own poor goal kicking then choked badly in the last 5 mins to concede those goals. Should be a ripper next sat night at the G
  9. Their best chance of a win is next week when they play the pies. How funny would that be if they managed to do it. I don't think i could contain myself. We'll should win this game handily 3183. Don't stress my friend.
  10. Hopefully BB can hit the ground running, snag a few and get on the same wavelength as the rest of the team. He is the final piece of the puzzle for me so really hope he can get into his stride quickly. Other than that I just want to see a professional, no nonsense performance. Dees by about 50 points or so.
  11. Jeez that looked the 15 meters. Huge call.
  12. Surprised with how poor Port are looking We've been by far the most consistent and solid team thus far. I don;t think we've had a bad quarter yet.
  13. Looks like West Coast have competition for the title of biggest down hill skiers in the league
  14. Brown had to come in therefore someone had to make way. May as well give Jones a rest.
  15. The final insult. The Gold Coast chant going up around the G
  16. Life is good just now. We're up and about but the icing on the cake are the pies. They are rubbish
  17. Pies will finish bottom 4 this year
  18. The ruck position is over rated. I don;t remember the exact details but in the game against brisbane Grundy had something like 80% of the hit-outs. The pies still lost the game.
  19. A solid citizen who made some important contributions for us. Like many players we have moved on (Frosty, OMac, Pruess) I'm sure he will always be welcome around the club but no question that it was the right decision to let him go. We have younger depth players (Bedford, Chandler) who deserve a chance to prove themselves so there was no need to keep him on the list. We're covered.
  20. You need to ease up on the TMac bashing P2J. He is a big part of the reason we're 6-0 and wishing he plays poorly and assuming he will fall apart makes zero sense whatsoever. If he continues this form and keeps the Weid out of the team while he's doing it then so be it. The season is long, there will be injuries and loss of form. The Weid needs to keep working hard, front up in the VFL every week and make sure he's ready to take his opportunity when it presents. That's what a professional would do.
  21. The club couldn't give him away during trade period so fair to say they're as surprised as everyone else by his form.
  22. I would be shocked. I’ve seen plenty of flaky Demons teams but I genuinely think our present team is different. All players are playing well but it’s the system and structure that is really holding up. We've been challenged a few times and responded on each occasion. We will beat North handily
  23. Good call
  24. As well as telling us that the doggies are flaky I think last nights game also reminded us that Richmond are still a very capable side. Talk of their demise is premature. They’ll be a force this year.
  25. The doggies folded last night when the pressure came on. The first time they were challenged this year and they failed the test badly. I thought the doggies were the team to beat but on the basis of last night i think they're down hill skiers. Look a million dollars against the suns and north but exposed against a good team. They'll be in the mix for a Top 4 spot but they lost a lot of fear factor last night for mine.
