  1. I would be shocked. I’ve seen plenty of flaky Demons teams but I genuinely think our present team is different. All players are playing well but it’s the system and structure that is really holding up. We've been challenged a few times and responded on each occasion. We will beat North handily
  2. As well as telling us that the doggies are flaky I think last nights game also reminded us that Richmond are still a very capable side. Talk of their demise is premature. They’ll be a force this year.
  3. The doggies folded last night when the pressure came on. The first time they were challenged this year and they failed the test badly. I thought the doggies were the team to beat but on the basis of last night i think they're down hill skiers. Look a million dollars against the suns and north but exposed against a good team. They'll be in the mix for a Top 4 spot but they lost a lot of fear factor last night for mine.
  4. Great effort from all 3. Paxy is a dead set legend. unbelievably consistent performer Hanks is a little ripper and will be the heartbeat of our midfield for the next 10 years If May was unlucky last year not to get AA then Lauren Pearce was absolutely shafted this year. Far and away the best ruck in the comp. Glad she was recognised by the club at least.
  5. Doggies stocks fell a lot tonight. When the heat was applied they wilted.
  6. worst goal kick attempt ...ever
  7. Jeez those tiges fans look feral!
  8. that was some kick from hunter into the bont
  9. First time this season doggies have been really challenged. Let's see how they respond
  10. On the other hand I don’t like seeing the Tiges win and the more games we put between ourselves and them the better I will feel. They’re not in form at the moment but they are liable to click and put a run of games together which could be enough to make Top 4. I’d prefer if they finished in the lower half of the 8. I'd prefer not to face them at all in September.
  11. I'm probably in the minority but i wouldn't mind seeing the doggies beaten. Looks unlikely though.
  12. I'm not quaking in my boots looking at this doggies performance. We'll take them i reckon
  13. The Tiges aren't out of this game but they need to start converting.
  14. How bad is the goal kicking in this game
  15. Both very good players in their own right. Lever can finally play to his strengths now that Thommo can take the other opposition KPF. He is an outstanding intercept player who just reads the play so well. Fingers crossed he can stay fit and healthy because, other than injury, on current form and trajectory he’ll be an AA for sure.
  16. Reckon we softened up the Tiges last week and the doggies will capitalise this week. I think the Doggies will account for them pretty easily actually. 5-6 goal win in fact
  17. All his best mates are signed up, the team is playing really well and the future looks very bright. He'll sign for sure.
  18. You need to fight against your MFCSS Siam. A changing weather forecast is not going to derail. And in case you hadn't noticed, North are terrible.
  19. Personally, I don’t feel any need to hear from the President. I’d prefer she stay in the background and focus on securing our new home base. That’s more than enough to keep her occupied.
  20. Our defensive work this year has been amazing. May and Lever get most of the plaudits and rightly so but Thommo has been a revelation. I watched him for a quarter during the Geelong game. He manned up against Hawkins after May went down and more than held his own. Great positional sense and really strong in the marking contest. Rarely loses a 1 on 1. He held Hawkins to 2 goals that day which is no mean feat. Heard him speak on the Sunday Footy show and he seems like a smart cookie. He and May can handle any KPF duo in the league allowing Lever to take a lesser light and peel off and play his intercept marking role. I was starting to doubt his recruitment but boy has he come good.
  21. We have a run of games, probably the best run for the remainder of the season, where we can tweak and play around with different options. I don’t like jeopardising form and get the logic of not changing a winning team. But form loss and injuries will happen. Better to have looked at options in different positions now through experimentation rather than enforced. We have got to get BB into this team. He is A-grade. Makes zero sense leaving him to play at Casey waiting for form loss or injury to get his chance. Get him in now.
  22. I take your point. I think we will win handily as well. I guess my point is beating a bottom team by a big margin doesn't tell us a whole lot about how we will go in September.
