We're better than Port and better than Geelong. Our defense will strangle both no dramas

BB missed most of last year through injury, a chunk of this pre-season and now isn't getting games in VFL due to Covid. I'm not too optimistic about his chance of making an impact for us this year unfortunately.

I'm looking forward to a Thursday night game. My preference is for Port to throttle Geelong
  6. The 4 options are fair but I think it's the other 50 or so (last count) genders that people wonder about. It seems people what to define themselves in very specific terms, to stand out from the crowd. Smacks of narcissium if you ask me. And btw. I wholeheartly believe people should be allowed to live their lives as they see fit as long they aren't harming anyone else. I have no problem people defining themselves as whatever gender they like. I do have a problem with people trying to challenge well defined and understood biological sexes to fit an ideology. I draw the line there.

Newer variants are becoming more transmissable in children which is what you would expect evolution to do. It'll figure out how to the transmit outside soon enough too.
  8. I'd like to see a Hawthron crisis as well. Perhaps one of carlton or Collingwood poach Mitchell? The Hawks fanatics would lose their minds. that would be hilarious to watch.
  9. i was at the game and through the very same. I remember he soccered a goal from about 35 meters out that was as good a goal as you'd ever see. They have gone in completely different directions from a development perspective since. There's still hope for De Goey. In the right environment (and drop a few kgs, get properly fit) he can still be a very good player.
  10. Maybe Buckley is doing us a favor. Could result in more pies fans turning up in sydney thereby improving our take?
  11. The extra burden which comes with honoring someone typically leads to poorer not better performance. See St Kilda v Melb rd 2, Spuds game. It's a good development in terms of ensuring our boys aren't complacent about the game. Still reckon we win. Remember there's a good reason why Buckley has been forced out.

I’m not sure we are going to see the best of the Weid or BB this year. They both missed a chunk of preseason and with the VFL in stop start mode it’s going to be very difficult for either to hit their straps. I hope the Weid starts clunking more marks but more likely he’ll continue contesting and bringing the ball to ground and kicking his 1 goal a game. BB has played 6 games (I think) across VFL and AFL. He missed preseason after an injury hit 2020. It’s no basis to develop a foundation to contribute to a flag chasing team. Maybe I’m being pessimistic but I don’t think either will hit the heights in 2021
  13. The game that still makes me angry was round 23 2017. Collingwood had nothing to play for except ruin our chance to play finals and they did exactly that. Our worst H&A defeat in my 15 years following the team given the context and manner of our performance. I'm surprised the pies fans don't mention it more often. If roles were reversed and we denied them finals in the same way we would never let them forget about it. We've come a long way since then thankfully. It wouldn't happen today and won't happen on QB. I expect a regulation 5 goal win.
  14. Here we go. another freedom of speech thread.

Defensive efforts from the players is disgraceful. They need to take a look at themselves. Ross Lyon will sort them out and if Carlton are able to bring him on board then they should. No disrespect to Teague but Lyon is a far better coach
  16. Best he leads to left of the screen if that's the case
  17. Her 2020 form was very good. She's also young so no reason to believe her knee won't fully recover. We have a strong list. If we can integrate Tayla we'll be a match for anyone. Injuries and luck permitting we should go very close in 2022
  18. Ed Langdon should be included. Best player by far in his position this year
  19. Attracting Tayla Harris, the biggest name in the game, and young Purcell, a b&f winner from Geelong, demonstrates we are a destination club. The team is in great shape and as long as we keep Daisy around to ensure the culture is preserved we can create sustainable success well into the future. I'm delighted with where our club is at, both the mens and womens teams.
  20. You are a good poster Kev. I read all your content. People are free to tell you to sit down and you are free to tell them to get stuffed, which you have done. I have a simple rule. Don’t take things personally. End of the day we’re all just a bunch of randoms talking chit about our team and inflicting half baked opinions on the world. Let's get back to talking nonsense about the footy.
  21. Do you know what happened to Lever?
  22. Every game is a danger game if we're not switched on Given how we've responded to challenges all year i expect to win these 3 games. Collingwood are terrible but will be competitive. GWS will battle but succumb eventually. Essendon will be difficult because they are playing will confidence and abandon. They will be the trickiest opponents of the 3.

We are first rate in every aspect of performance. Coaching and game plan, fitness and conditioning. On field we have leaders, talent, experience and belief. We are in such a good space. The only variable within our control that we haven’t really nailed is set-shot conversion. We are liable to cough a game up at any time because of bad kicking. Hopefully not in a final. So other than our kicking, I have complete faith that we will consistently deliver performances.
  24. Most definitely
