  1. This is THE test. The premiers and benchmark team the past few seasons. We’re 5-0 and playing well but there are some areas of concern for me. Forward pressure was well off v the Hawks. Kozzie, Spargo and Nibbler gotta bring the heat. Big ask for Petty to take one of Riewoldt or Lynch. He grew into the game last week but this will be a real baptism of fire for the boy. We really need May for this game. We have to nail our set-shots early and apply scoreboard pressure. We will not get away with bad misses this weekend. Dusty Martin is a freak – advantage them. Can’t let this bloke off the leash. Is he taggable? I’m 50/50 about this one. If we take our opportunities and kick straight we’re a big chance.
  2. Our forward pressure was way off where it’s been through the first 4 rounds. Gotta turn the heat dial right back up again for the Tiges. Kozzie played well but Spargo and Nibbler disappointed. I say they both play this week but Nibbler needs to lift. Another poor outing and Bedford should replace him. If Fritsch is fit he replaces Melks. Melks has done nothing wrong but that’s what happens when there’s genuine competition for places. BB or Weid for M Brown. Toss of a coin which, and fitness permitting, but I‘d plump for BB. We brought him to the club to be our spearhead so if he’s fit he should play. The Weid will have to bide his time. I’m not in favor of playing both and sacrificing a small and I’m not sure TMac to the wing is a good idea either. If May is fit he’ll replace Petty.
  3. I'm not sure that milestone or emotional games do a whole lot for the psyche of the team. The Saints were very flat against us in round 2 even though it was Spuds game and there have been examples of teams playing poorly because of the extra "burden" the occasion creates. I hope its not the case for us next weekend. Playing the Tiges should be motivation enough to perform.
  4. I have trust and belief We’re 5-0. Despite this there is still a lot of improvement to come with BB and the Weid. May and Fritsch to return soon. Every time we’ve been challenged we’ve responded. We’ve stuck to the plan. We have depth. The boys are Casey were fantastic yesterday. Competition for places is fierce. We have plenty of options The only negative for me is our goal kicking but i guess that can only improve. I predict we’ll give Richmond a real game. We’re going to hit those bastards like a freight train. Can’t wait for next Saturday night.
  5. Sensational player in career best form. I don't how he compares against the greats of yesteryear but there aren't too many players going around today i'd swap him for.
  6. You're right Dimmy. Goodwin has confirmed he'll play so no point debating it any further. We should all get behind him for the big milestone. He's been a warrior for us. Ploughed a lonely furrow for many a year. 3 best and fairests. Stuck with us when nobody could have blamed him for seeking a trade away. He deserves the recognition and adulation.
  7. On second thoughts the North game isn't such a good idea given its in Tassie but i wish we weren't playing Richmond next week.
  8. It's a tough one. He's held his own the first 4 rounds but today he was poor. I wish we weren't playing Richmond next round.
  9. Goody gave him the all clear in his post game interview. Said both he and the Weid had ticked all the boxes and were available for selection.
  10. I'm putting money on Maxy straight away. 29/1 is too good to pass up.
  11. Maxy Gawn must be leading the Brownlow votes. I can't think of a more dominant player across the first 5 rounds. Definite 3 votes today you'd think and I reckon he polled v the giants and Freo. Possibly Geelong as well.
  12. Flat and listless for much of the first. No rhythm, no tempo. We allowed the Hawks to drag us down to their level. Our class and quality told in the end but we’ll get belted next week playing like we did in the first 3 quarters. Too many passengers. I get the emotion but I don’t know if we can carry Jones next week. Lever and Maxy immense. TMac lifted when we really needed him to. Salem Hibbo Langdon and Kozzie were good. Nice cameo from M Brown but he's replaced next week by either BB or Weid. Petty found his feet after a shaky first half. He’ll be better for the run. He plays next week. I’m apprehensive about the Richmond game. May a huge loss down back. Our conversion simply has to improve. Stoppage work not that good today. Forward pressure was off. Need to work on that this week as Spargs, Nibbler and Kozzie gotta bring the heat next week. Too much spoiling our own marks as well. Plenty to review on Monday and work on during the week. We’ll bank the 4 points and move on. Big big test next week. Go Dees.
  13. We’ve been challenged a few times now and come up with the answers so yeah I’ve trust in them now. We will bring the heat and pressure next week and give Richmond a proper challenge. Might not be enough to win but there will be no poor efforts I’m sure.
  14. I'd play TMac against the Tiges. BB to come in for M Brown. I think the Weid has to bide his time. We can't fit the 3 of them in the same side
  15. 6. Gawn 5. Lever 4. TMac 3. Langdon 2. Hibbo 1. Salem
  16. Yeah. Fair point I worry he'll be exposed badly v the tiges
  17. I actually agree. We can't carry him against the Tiges. Hold him over for the North game.
  18. Play of the game. Hibbo's desperate dive to save that goal. He had a great game.
  19. A game we've coughed up in previous years. We'll bank the 4 points and move on. Huge game next week.
  20. BT spaffling on about Nat Jones playing his 3ooth next week. I think he should be held over to the North game. Can't carry him against the Tiges.
  21. We're cracked this game open. M Brown justified his selection right there.
  22. ffs Jordon. Put it to the top of the square
  23. Whats going on at the centre bounces. Getting pantsed
