Bailey Williams has been on the fringes of the first round for much of the year. Has drifted out of the conversation for the top 25 or so, but has potential as a tall forward.

28 feels too high, but anything after that I'd be happy with. Pretty sure Lockhart played National Under 18's for Tas in the same year KK did.

KK was very much in contention to be drafted with our pick 2 if we held onto it in 2013. Billings probably was just in front, but KK very much in the conversation.

I'd like us to get on the line to GWS. Not sure if they have any high end academy players coming through next year, but maybe we can offer up next years 2nd in combination with one of our 2nd rd picks to get one of their three first rounders. Would not only get us in the first round, but also give us the flexibility of trading our first round pick next year if we get involved with any of those high profile players coming out of contract (Kelly, Whitfield, Martin, etc.).

Yep, I can’t work out why he isn’t talked about more. Wouldn’t be surprised if he moved up the boards closer to draft day(s).

I like Xavier O’Halloran or maybe Ned McHenry in that range. Maybe Curtis Taylor or Sam Sturt will be around, but with a couple of 2nd rounders and a couple of 3rds we must be some chance of getting into the 1st rd somewhere.

Fair summation. Sometimes it doesn’t take much to sway public opinion in a short space of time. Polling suggests that the election’s looking close enough for a major issue to tilt balance either way.

Wasn't a Greens MP that said that (although they didn't support the notion, which is to be expected). It was leader of the opposition, Matthew Guy, that made the statement about Melbourne FC being more likely to win a flag than get planning approval for the Yarra Park HQ. He apparently knows a thing or two about planning approvals.

Had we held onto pick 2 in the 2013 draft, KK was just behind Billings on our rankings and would have well and truly been in the mix. We rated him pretty highly.

If we get 6 and 9, keep 6, trade 9 for May.

Would be funny if Billings came back in this trade.

If we got to the point of discussing a trade with Freo, & two first rounders is the going rate, I’d be pushing for their highest pick this year and their 2019 1st rounder. Then get into Josh Kelly with two 2019 1st rounders in the bank to offer GWS if Kelly hasn’t re-signed by this time next year. And I'm very much in the 'keep Hogan' camp.

Are we playing off for the Andrew Gaff Cup as well as a spot in the GF?

Trengove and Scully were supposed to be the players to lead our club out of the doldrums at picks 1 & 2 of the 09 draft. Whilst they didn't work out for us, the 09 draft has given us (eventually) Melksham and Gawn, who are absolutely critical to September success.

Bailey's been around the mark as a top 20 prospect coming into the Champs, and has held/improved his standing with some good, consistent footy. Can win his own ball, runs hard and has popped up for the odd goal resting forward. Probably in the 15-20 range at this stage.
