The pre-season supplemental selection period

Phantom Drafts - 2018
Bytel was very good last year. Two I like as smokies are Daly Andrews from Western Jets (long kicking, athletic type who loves going for a run) and James Jordan (186cm Oakleigh midfielder who can play half back, great decision maker and could be the most penetrating kick in the class). For different reasons, both didn't have a tonne of exposure this year, but could be great late gets.

PICKS # 26 & 31 (formerly # 23 & 28)
AFL Draft Central have a look at a few who they rank in the 16-30 range. https://www.afldraftcentral.com.au/2018/11/07/afl-draft-central-november-2018-power-rankings-16-30/

Interesting to hear that Valente & Duursma are among the 20 kids invited to day 1 of the draft and Ian Hill & Curtis Taylor, who have both been comfortably ranked inside the top 20 for the last year or so, are not. Dees could have some handy players slide to 23 & 28. Some more names to consider: https://coupler.foxsports.com.au/api/v1/article/amp/afl/afl-2018-draft-board-power-rankings-26-to-50-the-hidden-gems-that-loom-as-draft-bargains/news-story/9f1044dcf7c125149ed2139eaa5108e3?__twitter_impression=true

Jordan Clark
Fair chance that heâll be amongst the first 10 names called out.

2019 Fixture
Yep. We don't need to be giving the reigning premier any advantage, would rather we play St Kilda or Carlton tbh. Doesn't feel right that we are virtually selling our home game against the team that knocked us out in the prelim.

Vale Colin Sylvia
A day on and still numb from the sad news. Whilst there was always a tinge of regret for what Col might have been, what he was on field was still pretty good. Especially when you consider the performances of the (many) players around him at the time, Colin still managed to give us quite a few highlights in some pretty lowly times. Will always be one of my favourites, rest in peace Colin Sylvia.

Wallace Rates Dees Trade Period
Despite his trade grade, he still has us as premiership contenders after getting May in the door. Iâm pretty happy with how the list looks post trade period.

PICKS # 26 & 31 (formerly # 23 & 28)
Bailey Williams has been on the fringes of the first round for much of the year. Has drifted out of the conversation for the top 25 or so, but has potential as a tall forward.

Knightmare's 2014 Pre-draft player Analysis
May was a priority access selection for the Suns (NT zone), but would have otherwise been in the 2010 draft pool. He was full forward in the U18 All Aus team. Lucas Cook was CHF. Tom McDonald was a speculative pick at 53.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KADE KOLODJASHNIJ
KK was very much in contention to be drafted with our pick 2 if we held onto it in 2013. Billings probably was just in front, but KK very much in the conversation.

I'd like us to get on the line to GWS. Not sure if they have any high end academy players coming through next year, but maybe we can offer up next years 2nd in combination with one of our 2nd rd picks to get one of their three first rounders. Would not only get us in the first round, but also give us the flexibility of trading our first round pick next year if we get involved with any of those high profile players coming out of contract (Kelly, Whitfield, Martin, etc.).

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Remember Schwarz, Bennett, Jako & Lyon lining up in the same forward line at times in 91-93

Farewell Jesse Hogan
One of Salem or KK to the wing. Both good overhead with pace and very good disposal.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Yep, I canât work out why he isnât talked about more. Wouldnât be surprised if he moved up the boards closer to draft day(s).

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I like Xavier OâHalloran or maybe Ned McHenry in that range. Maybe Curtis Taylor or Sam Sturt will be around, but with a couple of 2nd rounders and a couple of 3rds we must be some chance of getting into the 1st rd somewhere.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
So effectively looks like Hogan for May, KK & pick 23. https://amp.theage.com.au/sport/afl/big-names-caught-up-in-eight-club-mega-deal-20181016-p50a1x.html?__twitter_impression=true If thatâs the way it lands, Iâd hope weâd look at some of our picks to move up into the 1st round. Pick trading can continue all the way up to the draft this year.

Wonder if they'd give us pick 19 if we added one of our other picks as well.

Are we there yet?

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
Fair summation. Sometimes it doesnât take much to sway public opinion in a short space of time. Polling suggests that the electionâs looking close enough for a major issue to tilt balance either way.

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
Wasn't a Greens MP that said that (although they didn't support the notion, which is to be expected). It was leader of the opposition, Matthew Guy, that made the statement about Melbourne FC being more likely to win a flag than get planning approval for the Yarra Park HQ. He apparently knows a thing or two about planning approvals.
