  1. Every VFL player has a local parent club. Playing VFL is their priority and they then play local when there is a bye or not selected.
  2. Yep. A spot would just be opened up so you could have a train on player who could be signed in the ssp or keep a list spot over for the mid season draft. Wouldnt be available at the draft I don’t believe unless he was officially finished on Monday and then there would have to be special exemption from the AFL to add an extra pick in the draft (which is unlikely)
  3. I remember the outrage on the night when we picked the last bolter of the draft 👀 a certain red headed #13.
  4. Agree with this. Article says O’Sullivan has been “linked to north in the last few days so if they opt for him Tauru won’t make it past Melbourne”. think they stick to the bolter. Not sure anyone has ever considered O’Sullivan being available at our pick. Wonder if that makes us pivot from Langford or at least think about pivoting?
  5. Gussy Brayshaw was massive on the body language stuff. We really miss him dearly in so many aspects 😢
  6. Mail. They’ve been offering that deal to the Saints for a while though as well. We’ve had multiple interviews with Xavier Linsday and Cooper Hynes also and they haven’t consistently been in top 10 calculations, so clearly something being explored to slide back.
  7. It is picking for the sake of it if the player isn’t at the level required. Just because we NEED a key position player doesn’t mean you just bust a pick on one who you don’t rate as highly. That’s lunacy.
  8. There’s been a few pick swap options. Port Adelaide was one for 13, & 29. The giants 15 and 21 for 9 also was there.
  9. Jackson worked out well for the flag, and we turned him into Windsor and hopefully another gun in Jeffo. Just the way it goes. Don't think anyone argues with our decision when they have a medal round their neck.
  10. Tauru isn’t just a key back. Can play forward and most recruiters think he’ll eventually be a midfield option.
  11. We don’t mention those names because Jason Taylor didn’t draft them and clearly there’s a reason for that 😂
  12. This! Not to mention, Petty was exactly the same. Both had horrific pre seasons. Think it’s a bit lost with HP how much he *didnt* do during the weeks leading up to the season this year. Two extremely important players and with full preseasons for both, look out.
  13. Not the Monday coming, the one after!
  14. Very keen to see Howes in 2025 after getting a chunk and taste of the action this season. Think he could be quite the player. Worth persisting with.
  15. Roo didn’t come in to debut until Round 3 of 2023 . Jeffo will be right. Supremely confident he’ll be a very good footballer for us👍🏼
  16. Melbourne won’t want to either. Lots of talk that he’ll get offered a contract like Roo until 2029 from us. But there’s big offers from WA. Hopefully he’s locked in soon.
  17. Or a future 2nd or 3rd pick.
  18. They’re already eyeing another one of our talented WA kids who is out of contract at the end of 25’ 😂
  19. Twomey said Richmond won’t go to 2. Adelaide will move for it if they’re set on Draper.
  20. ‘Law La”
  21. No chance Saints let Langford get past 7 or 8.
  22. Jagga is still getting linked to their first pick. It becomes talent that early. They can get their Smillie type like Allen (or in a certain scenario Smillie himself) at 10 or 11.
  23. If Smith and Langford were available at our pick, Richmond will offer something over the odds with pick 6 to move to pick 5 so they can select Jagga and we get a pick + Langford.
  24. Smillie is not the one. Because of his size he finds it easy throwing around slighter players at 18’s. Can he do it when he actually plays against men? I don’t think so. Also very weak in the air. Screams of another St Kilda bust at pick 7 or 8.
  25. Rating Smillie over Langford? Crazy take.
