Re-Signings 2019
You're complaining about the 8 players we've re-signed, so 8 plus 8 equals 16.

Re-Signings 2019
Who? Please name the 16 players we're going to recruit who would be better than the 8 we're likely to lose and the 8 we just re-signed. Those 16 players also need to be ones that would be available at the picks we have, with trades we can do with picks (seeing we can't lose more players) or free agents. 16. Go. Rubbish comment mate. Come on. You have no idea what they're earning. Once again, no team has 40+ "best 22" players. You're just showing you don't understand the complexities of a list. Just FYI for you... Losing: Lewis Garlett Maynard Keilty Smith Walker Probably losing: Stretch JKH Possibly losing (differing chances): Frost KK A contracted player who requests a trade So potentially we already have about 7-8 senior spots to fill already. Replacing: Tomlinson Langdon Pick 3 Pick 39ish Pick 57ish Pick 75ish That's all we have atm. Already we have quite possibly more list spots than options to fill them, and you want to delist another 8 players. How exactly are you replacing them? I get that it's the internet and people like to make brash statements, but so many are showing how little they're bothering to look at this situation as a big picture.

Jamie Elliott
Geez I hope so.

Likely not coming now from what I've heard. Dees came hard, Collingwood ended up being able to up their offer.

Re-Signings 2019
We've already lost 5 players, and there's at least 3 more to come. I know these blokes aren't exciting, but I think the reactions in this thread show a big misunderstanding about how salary caps, recruiting, lists etc all work together. We'll have at least 8 spots to fill already, what kind of quality do you think we're getting once we're down to our 11th-12th recruit in one offseason?

Re-Signings 2019
I know they're not sexy footballers for the most part, but you know what you're going to get from each, so for mine that's solid.

Re-Signings 2019
Agreed. Which is why we're trying to improve it this offseason and a fair few are on their way out already. Don't understand the over the top reaction here to re-signing some cheap solid depth though.

So you're starting to understand then it seems...

Went to a prelim with him.

Most of those guys pushed into the 22 this year.

Re-Signings 2019
SO what you're saying is we should have 40 players in our best 22 then?

Small forwards - what are our trading and draft options?

Premiership Window: Open or Closed?
That window has been deadlocked shut for 55 years, and I truly hope none of the players or staff think the 'window is ajar' as there's no chance they break the longest drought in football without a massive shift in attitude throughout the club.

Jamie Elliott
I believe he actually said Melbourne have made informal enquiries.

IMO Fritsch could more be a replacement for Joel Smith as the 3rd forward who jumps on everyone, especially given Shaun's comments during the year and Joel yet to re-sign.

List changes who do we cut, trade or go after.
More improving their depth, just like we're doing with adding players who aren't A graders. Will be great for their culture and standards up there too. Good move for them IMO.

List changes who do we cut, trade or go after.
Definitely gone.

Jamie Elliott
Goody on SEN: “He’s an incredible player and I think we’re one of many clubs that would be interested in Jamie,” “We think he’s got a lot of talent and he’s someone we’ll pursue. Like many clubs, we’d love him at our footy club.”

MFC needs own VFL side
Ahhhh I get it. Silly me hey, still getting to know who the trolls are.

Splitting Draft Pick 3
Where did you hear that mate?

MFC needs own VFL side
What? Are you from Melbourne mate? This is from google maps:
-
Eddie Betts
Report: Betts tells Carlton he wants return in 2020
-
Brandon Ellis (now a Sun)
Sam Edmund reporting Ellis will join GC on 600k a year.

MFC needs own VFL side
Yeah, look I'm not keen on it personally, I just it as a viable solution. In saying that, it would only be if (as mentioned above) it was developed into an actual stadium with legitimate elite facilities, with a big financial backing from state government and local council.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
Not sure I agree as you could apply that kind of logic to any scenario. Going to the draft - Goodwin's rebuilding, he's admitted defeat! Going for a superstar - Goodwin's putting all his eggs in one basket, saviour syndrome again! Going for depth - He's gambling with our future! Bit of a no-win situation for him when people adjust the narrative to suit their own bias.
