Officially announced. Ripper bloke, always gave his all, probably to the detriment of his body in the end.
-
Personally, I would very much like: Macca - Richo Jennings - Yze Rawlings - Plapp (Casey) Plapp - Andy Collins

Yep, Fagan was saying this morning that Hodge will be a part time coach for them next year as well as doing some media and corporate work while he decides what he wants to do in the long term.

2020 Assistant Coach Prospects: The Next Batch
Lord Nev replied to Lord Nev's topic in Melbourne Demons
Anyone know much about Andy Collins? Impressed by his performance today and his record looks very good also. Big raps on his ability to relate to players, build relationships and culture apparently. Might be happy where he is, but for anyone that knows more about him, would he be worth the call? -
So, can you then explain the following: Beams finishing 2nd in the Lions BnF before being traded to Collingwood. Neale Freo BnF winner before being traded. Ablett won the Suns BnF then traded. That's just a few off the top of my head, but already it seems the evidence doesn't support your assertion. Case closed.

Was their goal kicking and development coach early on, improved their goal kicking accuracy by nearly 10%. Backline coach from 2015 season. Strategy coach this season.

We have a vacancy for a strategy coach. Yze is coming from being the strategy coach for one of the best strategical teams in the comp under one of the best strategical coaches in AFL history. People can have whatever reasons they wish, but that's the reason he's being sought out by the club for the current vacancy.

The Bluey is happening before the trade period. Why would the club seemingly decrease his trade value by pushing him down the order of value to us?
-
They haven't updated the list online for a fair while last time I looked. There's some info in this article: "Viney’s role changed for 2019. He provided support for coaches, fitness staff and remained a key plank in the list management team. He was previously the manager of player personnel and was interim coach after Dean Bailey was sacked in 2011 for five games." Put me on block then. Just please do it. I'm not into member measuring on the internet.
-
Not sure tbh. Think maybe it's been more of a team setup than one person, but guessing a bit.
-
I don't think he's been list manager this year. From what I've read he's been more of a list management team member and provided general support for coaches and fitness staff. That being said, he's not officially leaving until after the draft anyway.

So, cutbacks then. Got it.
-
Think the list changes and leadership changes will be intriguing when the coach is saying: “Ultimately, at the end of that, we had a group that wasn’t prepared for what the game was going to demand.”
-
Can't remember who or where (sorry!) but it was posted on Demonland that there was some staff cutbacks going on at the club in the admin departments.
-
As far as I've heard he wasn't asked to leave, he already had 'something else' lined up a while back, so I'm not saying he got the shoulder tap, but gut feel is with all the cut backs and changes we weren't making Todd feel indispensable.
-
What is our business if not football though? Don't really think it's a coincidence that McCartney, Jennings, Rawlings, Viney and apparently some admin staff have all left since the internal review started (and more will come I believe). Mahoney would be the one doing the shoulder tapping, but he's been given direction from Pert.

Yeah, seems weird, maybe saving it for either the Bluey or to cushion the blow when they announce players leaving?

2020 Assistant Coach Prospects: The Next Batch
Lord Nev replied to Lord Nev's topic in Melbourne Demons
I remember reading somewhere, pretty sure here on Demonland, that there was a bit of an admin shakeup happening on top of the football review. Seems like this is part of it. -
Might be wrong as I've mostly skimmed posts in this thread, but I feel like people here are more concerned for his wellbeing, rather than writing him off as such.

I know new recruits always have to give the usual positive spin, but found these couple of quotes interesting from Twig (or maybe I'm reading too much into it): “It was quite clear where he sees the group are currently at, and where he believes they can get to. Rhyce’s understanding of where they’re at really impressed me." “I was probably looking for a bit more meat on the bone in terms of the role, and Rhyce and North Melbourne were able to provide that. I’m genuinely excited about.” Rawlings looks to future
