  1. Dees coach undecided on No.1 draft pick http://news.realfooty.com.au/sport/dees-co...81002-4slz.html
  2. What we were left with is all the perspective I need thanks...
  3. So you have the inside word on Mc Namara, Spencer and Maric? You saw no improvement from Miller, you see no potential in Newton or no heart from the news that he is working harder than ever before. Incase you didn't realise Jamar defied expectations this year and played some good games. Bate, Dunn and Sylvia are done and dusted are they Mate? You see Garland coming this year did you Mate? Heard that he might play up forward in the future? Drafting isn't about next year, it's about the future. Open your eyes.
  4. I'm glad the door is open on Rich and Vickery. The trade week will determine who we take at one. Vickey sounds fantastic to me and would be happy to get him, having said that Watts looms as a great pick as well. It sounds slightly absurd but there is the possibility that the club happy with the progress and/or potential of our forwards/rucks and go with Rich to deliver them the ball? Looking forward to seeing what happens to Prismall also. I know it's essentially rumor but he would be a great pick up via the PSD.
  5. This simply wouldn't have happened two years ago, we would have swallowed our pride and just played him out, possibly in the seniors. Danihers legacy lives on. Congratulations to all at the MFC who are fighting this one, your genuine supporters expect nothing less.
  6. tiring of your "topics for the sake of it" Dee tention time to get "realistic" and sell home games to NZ? all hail the new Yze "I'm bored and I want people to know what they think of me" Magic
  7. In Melbourne for a brief period so for once was able to tune in. As previously mentioned, a pretty straight forward interview but good of Jim to be on I think. - Debt demolition: Stated that $3million raised already and hoping to be close to debt free before the start of next season. - Spoke of the past rift between MCC/MFC, but that the new board was seeking a closer bond. He mentioned that the MCC had responded well to the new board and were being very co-operative. - Also mentioned that a good number of people were coming back to the Club, past players included. mentioned the Mates of melbourne initiative which seems to have had a good response. - Mentioned a meeting that he had with the AFL regarding our clash jumper. Appartently our jumper clashes with 5 other teams. In the meeting it was agreed that us having a red clash jumper is indeed an option. There was the possibility that our jumper might clash with one other team and if this is found to be the case we might come up with a "one off" alternate jumper. AFL were happy, it would seem, for us to have a predominately red clash jumper. - When asked what Dee fans had to look forward to in 2009 Jim mentioned the opportunity for us to see an exciting group of players continue to develop. He singled out Jack Grimes who he believes is going to be a great player. Said we were looking to draft some exciting "kids" and suggested that we were really gathering a group to develop as a team. Hope your as excited as I am about the long term future of the club. 2009 to be another year of development.
  8. From realfooty.com: Steve Icke: "I think he's one of the more outstanding young ruckmen coming through. "The fact he led Fremantle's ruck division for the latter half of 2007 (when Aaron Sandilands was out with a groin injury) and did it very well (was impressive). "He's been in the system for three years now and he's been working with Aaron Sandilands which has been really good experience for him." But the Blues face a tough task to secure the 206cm Victorian, who has also attracted strong interest from Melbourne, where his brother Matthew plays. Warnock also shares a strong bond with former Dockers coach Chris Connolly, who is now Melbourne's football operations manager. The Demons launched a brazen bid for Warnock's services in August, when Connolly, coach Dean Bailey and a group of players made a powerpoint presentation to Warnock, whose season had already ended due to a shoulder injury. Melbourne collected the wooden spoon this season after notching just three wins, meaning they will have first pick in the pre-season draft and could pick up Warnock without having to compensate Fremantle. Icke said Carlton were yet to decide what they could offer Fremantle for Warnock. "There's probably no point even thinking about it until such time we find out about what his intentions are," Icke said. --------------- Carlton know they're a long shot which gives me hope that we may actually achieve a win here. I'd be happy with Pick 1 for 3, we need a Watts or a Rich, let Freo develop Naitanui.
  9. When you consider that Pick 14 was good enough for Wood then 17 should be good enough for Warnock (still untried in my humble opinion). What pick does Cartel have? about the 9 mark I think, would they be prepared to trade this for Warnock?
  10. warnock to leave freo From realfooty.com.au why do my links never work???
  11. Article in todays age suggesting a possible round 10 return, ala Malcheski. Back into our consideration I would think, along with Alwyn and R Warnock. An exciting trade period indeed...
  12. Like most here I love his run, but I think the talent he has that is easy to overlook is his ability to read the play. Often he puts himself in the right place at the fall of the ball, to clear and run. Really looking forward to his development.
  13. Apparently Brad Sewell was battling to keep his spot on the list a few years back. Once I heard this I thought of Colin Sylvia. As much as he frustrates me I think we just have to persist. His potential is too great to chuck in the towel. Players his age can develop into something more. I am sure this is one of the things Bails and CC discussed yesterday. Expect one more delisting next week I reckon and a short list of trades. I just hope Colin is kept and we stay right behind him, where I think we should be.
  14. And to think, one of his many parting gestures was to drop TJ...
  15. a few words about a few players today. I love this club... Bartram - has had a tough year but deserves a proper lead into a full season before he can be properly assessed. Bell - I'll leave his place on the list up to the experts. Bruce - Has tried so hard for the red and blue all year, but where will he be at in 2010? Buckley - I tell you what, he is leaps and bounds above half the list with his endevour Carroll - All over red rover, looked so far off the pace today. Garland - Without doubt solidly sitting in our top 22, what a turn around, highlight of 2008 Green - I have loved his effort all year. Here is a senior player who realises how much hard work we have ahead of us, and is willing to do it. Grimes - Enough this season (on and off the field) to suggest I will wear his number on my back in years to come. Jones - Seemed to be very intent of disposing of the pill in an effective way today, good signs. Miller - What a difference a new coach has made, I have no doubt he will be a much improved contributor next year. Morton - Anyone who has played the game can see in Morton; a player who in a few years will be hard to contain. Willing to take those extra few steps today. Building toward something special. Warnock - he was the highlight of a very lowly game. Seemed hungry. Whelan - Vital to our developing backline. Thanks to White, Yze and Holland. The boy from Shepp has always meant alot to the boy from Wang, cheers Oze.
  16. Yet again another spray from some illiterate asking what the problem is. He is a kid who nearly died playing for your football club and who in 2008 has overcome injury to press for selection. He made it, as he will in the long run. Go bark elsewhere 'juice.

  18. What a year this has been, what a final round team we have to saviour. So many promising players taking to the ground, well possibly. Grimes Martin Morton Valenti Garland Warnock Petterd Maric It's easy to forget that most of these guys we genuine fringe players I hoped would get a few games. Now their all possibly playing in the one match. Wish I could be there, please someone get down on the boundary before the game and wish Jack good luck for me. P.S. Shame not to see Dunn get another crack at Richo.
  19. Look mate, on the post just above you, Demon32 making the exact same mistake that I have just spoken about, and he/she goes for the Dees! CARLTONS logo looks like OURS!!! We are always batting on about how we deserve a bit of respect, its time WE started respecting ourselves. I agree mousey the Demon can play a role in bringing younger supporters to the club, I just don't think that our clash jumper is the place to do it. I think it's an opportunity to impress that new things may happen in footy (like having to submit to wearing clash jumpers) but we have been here forever and we're not going anywhere.
  20. Mousey... mate. Too many have forgotten that we are the oldest team in the land, that we are the club where it all started. Even our own supporters are saying that Option B looks like Carltons jumper, when it is theirs that looks like ours. Doesn't that stir you up? So when Option B is chosen and people make that mistake, wont you take great pleasure in telling them that OUR logo was the first of it's kind in the competition? Option B mate, hands down.
  21. There's plenty of room for the Demon to make it's way back into the Mfc but this jumper should not be an option. It is cartoonish and will appeal to very few. The old logo will make our opposition and their supporters pause, and possibly remind them of our heritage. That we are the oldest club in the competition. God I hope we get Option B, please vote.
  22. It's interesting to consider that if TJ had delivered another ordinary season, combined with him being one year older, what we would have been offered for him in the upcoming draft period (with all clubs having their last shot at an uncompromised draft this year). Difficult to assess, but maybe a mere second round pick?
  23. Question: Is it possible Wonaeamirri has been given a good run of games to test his endurance, both mental and physical, before he is given a permanent spot on our list? It is my understanding the his elevation from the rookie list only remains until the end of the year. Apart from a few great games to begin with, he has struggled to have much of an impact. Again I don't think we can be too hard on our forwards as they have been given limited opportunities. No reason being hard on a small crumbing forward if there are no crumbs to be had.
  24. Spot on Rhino. Again it's not TJ personally that is most constructive or interesting to discuss here. Rather his trade and the subsequent shift in "culture". Sure, upon Bailey's appointment we all knew things would change. But it was this trade that revealed the path we have now taken. TJ's under-performance for the playing group was quite possibly the elephant in the room. I think this is worth considering... If your listening to the genuine voice coming out of the club today, it's all about a group of people who will do anything for the red and the blue. What a difference 10 months can make...
  25. This bloody great reunion is our last chance to dance. We will not survive if this administration can't turn things around. All I can do is support this appointment, donate my dollars, remain positive and keep vocal. C'mon Dees (past and present players!)
