  1. Was his second game mate. Can’t expect him to deliver with the same class as Gawn. The doggies always setup to lose clearance anyway.
  2. Today we lost by 28 points. 2 goals wasted with touched on the mark, Fristch misses one directly in front - kicks out on the full. Then weed puts some might action on the kick making bend like Beckham. Whilst Wallis kicks one from the boundary. Most of the game stats were equal with exception to uncontested disposals. We got beaten on the outside but that was always going to happen. Always. It will happen next week as well as with any team in the top 6. We lack outside width and class - it is a gaping, gaping hole and one that if we don’t fill will never let this team be as successful as it could be. It’s the final missing piece. We need to go after Hunter and/or Williams with every dollar we have. Need to clear the dead weight off our list to free up cap space to find the 1 - 1.2 M required to make that happen. Otherwise we will always be a 12-6 team.
  3. 100% we fold under pressure. Watch how the saints absolutely smack us with there pressure.
  4. Don’t get sucked in by these pretenders. We are choking big time.
  5. If we can’t beat the doggies we don’t deserve finals. Knowing us we’ll loose this one and beat the saints next week.
  6. Purely from a team fit perspective, you could put him on the wing. Played ok there and did have a tank. Would love to get 50 games into the LJ weed combo.
  7. I agree with this. Also have a crack at Darcy Moore incase Pies cannot contain him within the salary cap. Bit of payback for Howe. I’d ask the question of Papley as well.
  8. I have often wondered about the NGAs and why MFC don’t seem to have one established in the NT as we were the only teams who would regularly play there. If we don’t have one in NT, where is our NGA?
  9. He has no agility and doesn’t tackle. I reckon he’s building for next year.
  10. Yep me too. Not raining on anyone’s party as we haven’t taken a worthy scalp. You have to remember though, we just missed out on the Cats and Lions by less than a goal. I think we are somewhere between 6-10. We have had one majorly disappointing game this year. Looking at every team I think it’s fair to say that almost every team has had one of those now too.
  11. I want to be optimistic but I have read this script too many times before. Need to stay in the game for 3Q and blow them away in the 4th.
  12. Yes he does play better in the middle. Question is was he more damaging than Viney?
  13. Nobody should get ahead of themselves yet. there is every chance we won’t show up next week against the pies because we’ll have fresh legs and have the odds behind us. These are the bottom 2 teams by along way. We haven’t beaten anyone of substance just yet. Been beaten by every team we have played in the top 6. ive been sucked in before this year. Won’t happen again.
  14. They are 2nd guessing themselves in the middle. They need a summer of stoppage work to maximise Gawn and what looks like LJs tap work
  15. 11 - 5 scoring shots and yet just 5 points up. We look more dominant - just need score board pressure. Umps again sub par - better though in the 2nd quarter. Need to put them away in the 3rd quarter - they are just hanging on.
  16. Gawn in doubt for Goldy Showdown Can’t get past the paywall but not surprised. Smart move, rest him for game with Collingwood
  17. I think give em Vandenberg and Freo’s pick for Brayshaw. But having Papley would be very nice
  18. Do not get sucked into that 4th quarter performance. We were absolutely shocking for the 1st 3Qs and overran the bottom team that we’re coming off a 4 day break.
  19. Where was this in the first 3 quarters. Downhill skiers. Not convinced.
  20. There has to be an royal commission into the umpiring tonight.
  21. We are rattled and pathetic. Anyone surprised?even if we win this game - it’ll feel like the Carlton win. Empty.
  22. Thinking with your heart not your head there Billy. I think Oliver is great too but we all rated him based on his potential. His first couple of years were only amplified because of his raw talent and upside. He has been exposed as a poor ball user and has low metres gained. Doesn’t get a tag anymore because he is not damaging.
  23. If we are going to be serious about maximising this current crop, we need to look to bring some serious outside talent, otherwise they will go to waste. We can’t trade out picks so what trade stock do we have? A tonne of inside mids. I would say anyone bar Trac is tradable and we would need to trade at least two. Oliver is the first to come to mind and would probably attract the most trade value. We need to look at it as he doesn’t have a great defensive game, he’s a less than average kick and doesn’t have great composure with ball also lacks creativity and vision. Brayshaw has already bought his ticket to Fremantle I reckon. We are playing him in the outside to protect him from any more concussions or injuries that would jeopardise a trade. Sparrow too raw - let him develop some more, but he’d need to show something this year as he’s been in the system long enough. Harmes is good as a defensive midfield - should keep. Viney is similar to Oliver in the contest just less skillful and is better defensively a keeper as well. Who we target is also important. Need to go after proven A grade talent. Skillful, pace and someone that can kick!
