What about Brunswick st oval? I think that oval might be in ok condition because they play cricket on it during the summer. But you might have to ask the council because I'm not sure when they put the goal posts up each year.

Yeah, if there's anybody who looks at the sheet and sees that it's full, put your name down anyways coz there's bound to be people who pull out last minute. Even if we do have a bench of 10, everybody will get a good run.

I'll warm the bench (or if it's really hot then I'll cool it down) for the start of the game and then maybe move onto a back flank as the game progresses.

With Virgin Blue can't you change the flight for a cost of $30? If so, then just try to change it to a different interstate match & go to that one instead.

If Johnstone is the new Woewodin then he'll probably be playing in the QFL in a couple of years time.

There is no way that 12 clubs will grant a liscence for a 17th team, particularly when 10 out of 16 clubs are Victorian. As much as there are rivalries etc in the game, no Victorian club wants to see another one leave and they will all vote against it. The most realistic solution that I reckon will happen is that 2 Victorian clubs will be forced to merge, or the Kangaroos will go broke and be forced to move up to the Gold Coast.

I have a lot of respect for Craig, as he was always spoken his mind honestly with regards to different issues and he always loved a chat with fans who had a genuine clue about the game. Unless every single person here has spent their entire life at a single company then they have no right to criticise Craig for his decision to leave. The new job at Richmond will be a good move by him, as it will give him new opportunities and a different environment which is understandable. With respect to Craig, he has made some great decisions with later picks for us, however we have had some disappointing results come from early picks as well. I think this will also give the MFC a great chance to pick up somebody with fresh ideas and hopefully in the future we'll pick up some absolute superstars which we have lacked in the previous few years.

If the team of the century was done now then he'd definately get a guernsey, but the team of the century was the team from last century, so therefore he probably doesn't deserve to make it ahead of the others. Also, you can't just kick a guy off the team, 10 years after he's been inducted into it.

I reckon 6th or 7th, and we won't make it past the second week of September.

If my memory serves me correctly, didn't the AFL bring upon the charge of bringing the game into disrepute before everything was reported about him going missing in the states? I always thought that the AFL charge was based on the Cousins arrest, which he was later on had thrown out. The only thing that I can think of that could have brought the game into disrepute was that he went missing and was later alleged to having to go to hospital in America.

Although this ban will probably be best for him with regards to his problem, I don't understand what he's done in order to bring the game into disrepute. If he has had all his charges dropped then what has he done wrong? If the police were to arrest any given player they want based on something that they didn't do, then how is that the player's fault? Isn't it the police force that's bringing the game into disrepute?

It might have something to do with that contract that the AFL & the WCE made him sign before he was allowed to play again.

We are pretty safe with regards to relocation, as the worst thing that could ever happen is a merger and we still keep our name. Extra teams in Sydney & Brisbane will do nothing but boost the game over there. What they need is a team to rival the Swans & Lions, and if another team in QLD & NSW were to come along then that will do all 4 teams a world of good. Trust me, there will be plenty of people in Sydney & Brisbane who hate the Swans & Lions, so iafter 5-10 years the sides up there will be much better off than the struggling sides in Melbourne.

I totally agree. Ben Cousins is in a totally unfortunate situation. Afterall, there were only 2 blondes to pick him up from the airport. Life must suck for him right now!

It'd be fair to state that the game is 150 years old, but there's no way that the league is.

Wow, for the first time this millenium I'll be able to see Melbourne vs Brisbane in Victoria. For all of those complaining about the marketability of games, there's only 1 factor that will see high attendences at our games, and that is winning. With an unfortunately fickle supporter base that we have, it does not matter who we play & where we play them, there will only be 15,000 max Melbourne supporters there if the side has 3 or 4 wins towards the end of the year.

We're not far away from making the 8, however we are a long way from winning a premiership.
