  1. I wouldn't rely on change rooms, I think there are some at the venue but they'll probably be locked.
  2. I'm still playing, but just a warning that I may be hungover/tired from the night before.
  3. Geelong won't win the flag next year.
  4. I don't think that I'll be able to find 10 people to fill the spots, but I'll send an email around to a couple of Melbourne supporters that I know who may be able to come down.
  5. I'm probably in the minority here, but I fail to see how West Coast are at fault with regards to this. As soon as the whole Ben Cousins & Drugs thing hit the media, they were the ones who offered to fork out hundreds of thousands of dollars to try and help get him out and get him rehabilitated. The club would have had professionals there for him to go to whenever he wanted. Ben is an adult and should be held solely responsible for his actions. He was on annual leave from the club, so therefore he is free to do whatever he wants. To everybody here, have you ever had to tell your work where exactly you were going to be for every moment of your annual leave? Of course not, because that's your own personal business. WC should have probably checked on him after the Mainwaring incident, but apart from that they shouldn't be babysitting him for every second of his life.
  6. What's happening about the 10 or so who haven't responded? Are they the same people who no-showed last time? I've got a couple of mates who barrack for the dees and might be able to play (I haven't told them about it yet) but I want to give a chance to those who have already put their name down. Should I tell them or not? If we don't need them then I won't ask, but I just want to avoid a repeat of last time.
  7. Best one ever was Phil Gilbert for Jeff Farmer.
  8. I'd rather him in the side than Miller, but still it's a definate no.
  9. Usually they send it out in September, but I still haven't gotten it. What's this "Gold membership" thing that you get? I've been a member for 14 consecutive years and haven't gotten one...
  10. For some teams it works quite well, but our problem was that we neither ran nor carried the ball. It works well when you have quick midfielders against an opposition flood, and are able to run with the ball in numbers, then handpass when you draw an opponent. It doesn't work well when you stand flatfooted and handpass to a teammate who is also flatfooted who does the same thing until somebody is tackled or there is a turnover.
  11. This might be the wake-up call that Trav needs. Next year he will either blitz the competition or fizz out.
  12. Going out on a limb here: Port Adelaide Collingwood West Coast Hawthorn Geelong Carlton Melbourne Brisbane Sydney Western Bulldogs Kangaroos Adelaide St Kilda Essendon Fremantle Richmond A few notes: - Geelong will suffer premiership Hangover - Collingwood will improve, as they only lost to Geelong by a goal on 2 occasions this year - Carlton will be strong as they showed signs towards the end of the year. Also, they finally have a midfielder who will feed Fev the ball on a platter - Wake up call by Bailey will force dees to improve. - Port will improve after embarrassing GF loss - St Kilda going downhill due to off-field problems - Kangaroos will be exposed - Richmond still going nowhere
  13. gothedemons, just for future reference it would be helpful if you put some actual content in the first post and give people something to start off/comment on. Also, there's a thread stuck on the top of the board giving tips on how to avoid conflict such as this. As for Bailey, although he still has alot to prove, I think he's so far had a good start as the 1 problem that Neale had was that he got along too well with the players whereas Bailey is trying to make them earn his respect.
  14. Oi Rollo + others, what do you guys reckon about maybe organising a round-robin system with a few of the other boards (eg Bomber Blitz, That Hawthorn board - forget the name, + maybe 1 or possible 2 others)? It could be as simple as both teams have to organise a game sometime over the summer & then top 2 play in the final if there's time after that.
  15. I reckon it's hilarious that the media are typing the whole "website that can be viewed by children" thing. If 12yo's wanted to look at porn there's lots of sites that are much more easier to get access to than a person's facebook!
  16. It could help, but it's not compulsory.
  17. So far we are undefeated with Bailey as coach, so I'd have to say we're doing pretty well.
  18. I reckon Geelong will win by 5-7goals with Ablett taking Norm home, but I'd love it if Port gave em a flogging & won by 10+ goals.
  19. Rollo, have you sent an email around to the others who have played in the other games? I'll start in the Forward Pocket or Flank & probably move into the backline as the game goes on.
  20. Not much. But it's still lots of fun and literally anybody can join in.
  21. Yeah I'll be up for it again. Will somebody be able to get the trophy off Hards before he leaves?
  22. I agree with this 100%, but there's only 1 trophy cabinet in Victoria that I ever want to see it in.
  23. There is ONLY 1 Victorian team that I want to see win an AFL premiership, and that is the MFC. As soon as we are eliminated every year, I don't give a stuff who wins it. Send it as far away as you want, I don't really care. This is a survival of the fittest and any Victorian club who wins a flag comes under further competition with us as a club, and therefore increases the chances of poaching potential supporters/members, sponsors, etc. Does anybody really think that Adelaide supporters will be barracking for Port, just so the cup can go back to SA? Of course not. Geelong hasn't won a premiership for 40+ years and I hope that it stays that way. One bragging right that we have over them is that they have a longer drought for premiership gold than us, and if they win on Saturday then that's 1 aspect that they will gain against us. The only time that I can honestly remember barracking for a Victorian team over an Interstate team was when Adelaide made the GF in 97/98, and that's because their supporter base is the most disgusting breed of animal on the planet and because of they way that they got there in '98. I am sick & tired of people getting behind fellow Victorian teams, and I equally hate it when other supporters get behind us when we're in the finals. The most successful clubs are those that are hated and nobody wants to see succeed, and for us to succeed as a club in the long-term we need to become this and need to have supporters with a similar mentality.
