Definitely keep. Would he have kicked the goal with the last kick yesterday? Yes.

I think a lot gets lost here by not talking face to face. Go Dees

Big yes to three years if deal is right. Plays younger than his age.

A word to the wise. Footy is and always has been about loving your Club as everyone here does, letting off steam and feeling part of the whole thing. Its tradition venue outside of gamedays was around work tables and sitting on stools in public bars. If you sat for any time you would hear massive boasting of how good so and so was, canning of other, ridiculous assertions, humorous stories and ridiculous predictions. many groups had alternate selection committees and Carlton were and are famous for their alternate selection committee that are at every thursday training and pick their own team. Even in their premiership years there was much angst against who and why someone was selected. Thats why we love it. In the end all the criticisms is just supporters trying to piece together there own little perfect player list, coach and adm support. Go and find a country pub, go in the public bar and you soon see what I am saying is as true in local footy as it is in the AFL.

Max Gawn. Our champion. Another magnificent season by Max. He is at the peak of his powers and talk of Grundy being better is like saying Polly was better than Big John or vice versa. Loved by the fans, coaches and playing group and the whole footy community. Hopefully the Club soon realises here is the bloke to lead us to glory. Nothing so far has been too much of a burden for Max, he has the intellect to cop the blows, work on his body shape without prompting, readjust his goalkicking and forward positioning. A reason to watch the Dees in a dismay year.

I am a fan of Gus but he strikes me as the sort who as a kick was also selected to play on ball. he is strong and courageous so that would have given him plenty of time and ability to accumulate kicks and get praise along the way. I suspect he has given little thought to his game style other than focus on the ball and put his body on the line then push the ball forward any way he can. Needs to learn more about how to work within a team environment bringing the ball forward, Not so concerned at his lack of defence this year as I think his fitness is down.

So Mahoney has employed a failed senior coach to an as yet un named position while he does an internal review into amongst other things our coaching panel and deficiencies. Is this an episode of UTOPIA. Some speculate he may be a mentor or head of coaching. Masterstroke, get a recently sacked unsuccessful coach to mentor or oversee our struggles coach. You could not make this stuff up. As for highly regarded, please, not by St Kilda. Always highly regarded on the way out the door.

VG but a little tough on Hore. I think he has the desire to work on deficiences.
-
Do you object to supporter comments at the game too?
-
It is not a fan club site.

I saw Viney passage of play today and it stood out. Not used to seeing it.

Preuss Freed Gawn to be an attacking weapon. Without that we would not have been close Viney Best when given a tagging, competitive role. No leadership though ANB Not AFL standard Spargo Not AFL standard Stretch Not AFL standard Wagner One more year JKH Not quite there. Max Our champion Fritta Super talent Frost love the desire Lever I don't know Hore good first year. Hunt pretty good year Brayshaw At the crossroads Oliver needs strong coaching Petracca lose some weight Salem Trade with currency Hibberd On the decline Melksham Should be a leader

I am struggling with the. "quite uncritically just throw rocks bit. What do you mean by quite uncritically throw rocks? Assuming you mean criticize the club and employees of the club. Are you saying a Club, made up of members and supporters are not allowed to criticize a failed organisation and one that has been a failure for 55 years. I don not seek or need your respect, could not care less. You rarely indulge in footy discussion anyway. Always counter sniping. You are on ignore

A mentor is not a person (coach) of a similar age and standing in a profession. He will not have a desire on the job of the person he is mentoring. He will not be looked on as a replacement for the person he is mentoring if the mentor does not perform his task. He will not sit beside the person he is mentoring while doing his job rather offer advice on performance when required. He will not confuse the group as to who is the best/real coach or have potential to cause division within the playing group.

Well, that settles the argument.

Who said any thing about going under. Sounds a bit dramatic. Maybe you like the drama of others stating opinions. Then again like a lot of veteran posters here maybe you just take offence to anyone new saying anything.
-
In all seriousness, this could be a good appointment but there is little wow factor or certainty about it and it is mundane footy news for AFL followers. If we get Roughy or Lewis in any capacity I will be excited so let see how it all plays out.

Company man eh Binman

Lukewarm only about this. 2X NQR

A big maybe from me. I see Weed as another 2 seasons from being a big bodied forward in his own right and he needs further support until such time.

Dees to meet with AFL Commission after disastrous 2019
Sorry kids replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Likely correct JJ. Which makes the situation even worse. However I did see where or hear that when listed as an asset it is at land value. Such an odd investment when only a token effort has been given to making it a place of welcome for supporters. Some times when I have been there you need to ask to have the Dees game on one of the TVs. -
How so?

Remember watching a player video ANB did on the Qld camp. Even allowing for the fact it was young guys having some fun outside of training time I just got the impression they were all on pretty good terms with themselves.

Imagine the signal it would send to our playing group if we go and trade one of our very few fully committed players while we let player x,y, z get away with the current sort of attitude to representing the Club. It could have repercussions for a very, very long time.
