  1. One of my all time favorite Demons players. An enormous talent, cruelled by injury. exactly what we need now. David Williams (born 26 October 1961) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). A forward from Rochester, Williams kicked nine goals against North Melbourne late in the 1986 VFL season at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. He however had his most successful season in 1987 when he kicked 39 goals and he bagged 33 more the following year. The second of those tallies included two of Melbourne's six goals in the 1988 VFL Grand Final, which he played as a half forward flanker. It was his last game for the club and he was traded to Richmond, but a knee injury ended his career.
  2. agreed. The level of tinkering may vary. All Clubs talk about Community but the Bulldogs have embraced it more than others Not sure that is because of any mission statement though. I am a bit of a believer in. Do no tell them.. Show them approach from leadership. Not to be taken literally as far as not telling them of course.
  3. The club’s 2017 financial report put revenue for the year ending October 31 at $51,988,711 and reported ‘social and gaming revenue’ of $11,641,049. Barrett also said the Club will need to claw back 10 per cent of its revenue once pokies are finished. Am I missing something in the maths here? As I said, you refused to deal with the main part of my post. Maybe you cannot work out the contradiction in the two paragraphs above. Clue: 51 and 11.
  4. I expect so DD although I was refering to the Members of the Bentleigh Club who are local redidents.
  5. I know the location. Live 5 minutes away. The local plan is to have large scale apartments lining the railway tracks, McKinnon to Bentleigh and along Centre Rd. Will watch with interest how a quiet backstreet qualifies for a large scale development. And further. Genuine question to which i do not know the answer. As a Club can it be sold without Member consent or relocation.
  6. Do not claim to know much about Real Estate, sounds like you do. We may be a forced seller but tell me this, know it all. What is the present zoning of the Bentleigh Club and twhat is involved in the process for re zoning a commercial venue in a tightly held conservative suburban area.
  7. Stand by for the next disaster. Trying to find a buyer for the Bentleigh Club when it collapses after the pokies are gone. Many posters here who knew the venue gave it a thumbs down nearly a decade ago.
  8. As someone else pointed out, it would likely need rezoning to be sold for housing to realise a decent price. Otherwise it is a useless venue. You ignored the revenue aspect of my post while defending the Bentleigh Club.?
  9. Flow on effect will be Bentleigh Club, our assett will be bankrupt and collapse within a year.
  10. Interesting on Anderson. I sorta got a recollection his father butchered it a bit too. I am not in the camp 1 and 2 are locked in after the Scully Trengove draft. Due dillegence due dillegence.
  11. Rational. maybe start with showing where I have said burn the place down? And then when I have demanded success after 55 years? You are the one with hyperbole and for the record I did not refer to you are a company man. Response, ok, lets see how Goody responds to Richardson. We are led to believe it didn't work with Macka.
  12. When did he say make changes quickly as in before a role is even announced for a new appointee like Richardson. You created your own question to fit your response.
  13. And another 100% agree.
  14. So there you have it. An outsider perspective to fit with what many Demonlanders have been saying all season.I await the rearguard action reply from the Company men on here.
  15. Coaches Hall of Fame must be one of those new fangled ideas I missed.
  16. Not making much sense young un. No one called for a Hall of Fame coach, what code is that anyway? We foolishly thought we would have the review Mahoney is doing into himself and the footy dept to tell us where our coaching team needs to be strengthened.
  17. Yes Kent, I wrote similar somewhere else. The review is to find out amongst other things what support the coaching panel requires. And then we charge ahead an appoint Richardson. His role is unknown, but lets assume it is to give support to Goodwin or oversee coaching. How will that sit with Goodwin, having a coach who out coached him only a month or so ago.
  18. Would not be in any 22 other than GC. Goody favorite, part of the SA crew.
  19. I dont worry about the Company man spy, DD. Never expresses an opinion of his own.
  20. Welcome to try again, preferably in a format that makes sense.
  21. If not the Cats there will be others sniffing. pretty easy to see why. Coach to recruiting dept. Go find me, a super talent, not playing to potential, not playing in his ideal position, ideally at a struggling club. Offer him team success, big crowds a solid contract and a system that will improve him as a player.
  22. And where will the Cats plan to play him. midfield. Exactly where we should have built his fitness to play.
  23. I would unload on the Cats and get on the front foot.. You bast....s. You watch us develop a super talent, wait until we have a down year and then pounce. OK put up or shut up. What have you got to trade. And by the way once you can satify our demands we are gonna target one of your favorite players next year. Enough is enough. At least we can stand for something.
  24. need to move some of the momentum killers Maynard and Lewis are gone with Smith likely also Spargo, Kielty Trade if can Jones, Stretch, ANB OMac
  25. Kick and squeal, I dont squeal tuppence. Go and snag, says it all. What is so special about snagging Alan Richardson? Garden variety coach. I note you did not address my comments about being snagged without a designated role. WHY NOT? And please do not build Burgess into some kind of guru just get. Reminds me of when we recruited Diamond Jim. Hopefully he is much better than Mission but my memory is one season he was with Port they crashed and burned fitness wise after a flying start. All it is is we now have a AFL standard fitness guy. And how did we get him? The rotten SA connection. So either address my concern about appointing a coach without a role or do not bother responding DD
