  1. Each to their own.
  2. bentleigh Club will collapse soon after the pokies come out. Wonder if that is our plan. To then sell off the land for residential housing. Not sure we could be that clever though.
  3. Missing the point Sue. The players who do it will become heroes to the Club and fondly looked upon for life. Your thoughts also do not tie in with how the Swans and Bulldogs players felt when they broke long standing droughts. Many said the best thing about the win was seeing the look on old time supporters faces.
  4. Imagine being a member of the team that breaks the drought.
  5. Many are happy being AFL players.
  6. Yes it is. Why are you asking me why there is such dismay?
  7. Long way off from what I have seen at Casey Kev. work in progress.
  8. Good on Kev for getting there and giving a good report. Hats off. But has it really come to this. Some being happy that we trained well against each other a few days before our last match, having lost our last five or so games dismally.
  9. And 14th the following year 2017,
  10. So our response and plan for 666 was Hunt, up and down player AVB chronic history of injury and not getting on the park KK chronic history of concussion. We were caught out in planning but more so not previously putting any focus on the importance of the wing when you play home games at the G. He could have added our game plan was a sort of cheating style, not in the literal sense but in the same way as a forward runs forward of the ball. It was bound to have a short life and be pulled apart like a magic trick.
  11. All is forgiven if that was to come off. Also solved the problem of a mentor type role. With lewis and Roughy he might be ok.
  12. Pert gets paid more than the Prime Minister. No one is asking for him to meddle. We are asking for him to do his job and oversee what has gone wrong so it does not continue.
  13. Gee mate, you are forgetting its footy, you are forgetting the games history, how people battled through the depression and cold Melbourne winters with Saturday footy and their local suburban club being at the heart of their existence. I know people today who still have it as the most important part of their life. Come with me and visit a disability provider and see how the guys talk about footy. We are all allowed to have our say and yes sometimes that means being critical of people running the Club and less so players. But why do most of us do this? Because we are playing out our imagination, imagining we know who should go and who should stay. As supporters we can do that. No one is booing the players. We all do that in our own jobs everyday. Unfortunately like any success starved organization internal criticism probably happens here more than any other AFL site. Does that make the critics wrong or have they learned over the years exactly who is a right fit our Club through bitter experience. I wasn't on the site then but am sure there was unanimous support for the Jackson -Roos combination. Why, was that just a hunch or did people look at the character and experience of Roos and Jackson. I suggest lighten up, go and watch the Jack Thompson Club.
  14. Its Gawn for Captain and then May VC He has the hard edge to compliment Max Melksham Lever and Viney to round it out. I have Viney in so he can continue to learn about leadership.
  15. You joke, surely.
  16. Agreed, neat nice player, dinky 30 metre kicks, does not show fear but has no physical presence, I reckon the footy community would have him at pick 20-30 in a trade . Another poor draft selection.
  17. My concern with the review is if it focuses too much on what went wrong this year there could be an assumption that we are better than our 17th place. We must face that fact, all the players, coaches and supporters. Then it is over to the players to prove the current realty wrong.
  18. I believe Preuss will be a player for us and get better with each pre season. All the best to Kielty with his future if its not at the Dees. Still a great effort to be on an AFL list and play a few games.
  19. The silver lining is we may now have to really think about our pick without the noise that 1 and 2 are set in stone. That approach has not worked for us in the past.
  20. I hope we do not keep building Burgess up into something he isn't. that is some sort of guru better than all the other AFL fitness blokes. He should be a massive improvement on Mission but an AFL guru he aint. A couple of stints with Adelaide brought no success, not that I am saying lack of success is he fault. So it made a good news grab with the Arsenal connection and so on but if Mahoney played a role in getting him all he did was get an AFL standard fitness coach.
  21. Bosses man eh. Yes, sir. Another on ignore
  22. SA Crew.
  23. S you agree its not Perts job, cheers.
  24. I am sure the site is infiltrated by people who put the boots into the admin and officials for decisions for their own agenda. My agenda is to state my view on decisions as I see them. If I was at a power club I am sure I would be less critical as they make far better decisions and long term planning for success. Some of the big issues this year have included. No home base Bringing in of Lever for $$$ and picks Bringing in of May for big $$ and picks Hogan is no loss Viney captaincy Mission Jennings gameplan Goodys coaching All I am saying is some on here have defended the Club at every turn. Now that could be the sort of loyalty I had for 50 years or it could be something else.
  25. Family member played at Hawthorn, Kennedys Cammando era. Those guys were tough and fit. One pre season and you were in top shape. No water during training. That was considered p... weak. Players drove the fitness as much as the Coach. What I would have given to throw $$$ at a Joel Selwood rather than Lever.
